Snow environments have always been a favourite of mine in video games. Thunderhead Peaks probably has some of the comfiest looking scenery in GW2.
Also quite like the open desert of Crystal Oasis at night.

That's the only shiny I've unlocked thus far, though mainly because it matches my thief pretty well.
The rest... eh.

Sure you can. Just use auto run.

Taking a break from daredevil on my thief. Going operator and playing around with a pure deadeye firearm build.
The rifle of course certainly has its weaknesses, but damn if it isn't fun roaming open world and bursting down single targets from long range with rifle quickness.

Tonight's been a bit strange for me.
Been getting put into oddly empty maps. Had to taxi twice for tequatl (normally never have to do that) despite getting into the map 15 minutes early.
Also seem to be getting put with a lot of players I'm not familiar with. Feels weird lol.

Jesus, I can't believe how quickly that went. I'm probably one of the few on this side of the world who actually participated, but only because I stuffed up my sleeping.
Creepy collector served a good cause though. My mithril ore and ingots were feeling pretty sad and lonely sitting in the bank. And I got a new title for throwing my possessions away. Awesome!

The red bar aside (which definitely needs something of a review), I think it's a pretty solidly balanced mount with some well thought out nuances in its flight mechanics. Once you get those figured out you learn quite a few ways to take advantage of the Skyscale.
>! Not still being completely and utterly salty over the time gates is also helping in my enjoyment of our new mount.

Brand new character. I have another old ranger, but was never quite satisfied with it and I could never get into any of the condi builds.
So went a little out of my comfort zone with ranger and decided to try full zerk greatsword. And boy can it deal out some damage (love you jacaranda). Took a little bit to find my footing, but I think it's managed to click somewhat after I got her reasonably geared up. Having good fun with it.

Ah, the eternal MMO dilemma.
I'm using a naga trinity mouse, so all my weapon attacks are on the closest two columns. This allowed me to shift my abilities from 6 - 0 down to 1 - 5, with my mounts now occupying 6 - 0 (this allows me to stretch my thumb and choose a different mount while still moving forward) in order from raptor to griffon.
Still have seven unused mouse buttons since I find the furthest two columns awkward to use. Might just have to accept that's my only real option for the beetle and skyscale since I can't see myself altering my keyboard layout or going for any out of the way key press.

I only completed the collection because I thought that when you unlock it and the mastery track, the skill that makes you jump walls could make it so that you fly > cling to a wall to recharge your blue meter > resume flying. Which would still be far from perfect considering it is a dragon so realistically there shouldn't be a limit to how much it can fly to begin with, but it would be a nice compromise between players and Anet's disturbing obsession with forcing players to play the game a certain way. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that not only is the climb/ recharge limited by stamina bars, it also builds the red meter the more you use it. I had to deal with limitations (timegates), limitations within limitations (the charged crystal parts) and so many collections to be able to own the most limited mount in the game?

If you don't angle it absolutely perfect it thinks you're trying to gain altitude and the sky juice drain is absurdly severe. If they fixed that it would probably feel a lot better to use.

I might try turning off conditional mount controls but I'm not sure how that'll affect my other mounts or if it'll help at all with the camera steering or just end up making it more tedious to use.
It really does.
Whilst clinging to the wall, a fully charged half stamina bar (so it can be used twice) gives roughly 66% flight endurance.
It does drain pretty rapidly, but I've always found it sufficient enough for reaching the next landing spot.
-
I've been using the Skyscale a fair bit. I find it to be a pretty versatile combination of Griffon, Springer, and to a lesser extent the Raptor (wall launch mastery is absolutely necessary though).
The red stamina bar is a bit of a pain though.

It all has to do with pitch. The more you pitch down, the faster you regain endurance. The more you pitch up, the faster you lose it.
The opposite is also true.

26,277 volatile magic and 5,236 trade contracts. Good thing I hoard, lol. Bit short on map currencies, but a couple of days will give me plenty of time to farm with a few characters.
Having to wait a full day after last feeding definitely stings a bit.

I know I've done most of these, and I generally prefer to beat a JP legitimately.
I haven't got to part 4 yet, but I'm just hoping for the love of shit that you don't need the bomb for griffonrook with this collection...
-
You know, I find myself not caring that much about the time gates anymore.
The initial collections absolutely were the usual slogfest (and truthfully, I can sort of appreciate the story reasons for doing those), but this is what will probably be a series of uniquely brief moments in the game for anyone unlocking the skyscale, so I'm just going to enjoy the process while it lasts (and inevitably become jealous of those who are one or two days ahead of me).
>! Do it for her.

Oh shit, so that's what I was getting confused about...
Well that clears that up, thanks.
-
Well like I said, I've already completed skyscale treats, so the little fella has literally had something of everything, and I only collected one of each food.
So yeah, dunno there...
-
Question about the skyscale care collection?
Apparently it's supposed to take a minimum of four days to complete with feeding your skyscale three times a day, but what I'm confused about is unlocking the hatchling icons. I've already completed skyscale treats but only have the pinweight hatchling icon. So unless I'm completely misunderstanding something about this collection, that would take a lot longer than four days...
-
I just use all normal and one invisible at the bottom.
Anything else I just find unnecessary since I salvage or sell most of what I collect anyway.

That didn't work for me (should be mounted up regardless anyway). The game just decided to finally let me through after about 6 times.
For a first time playthrough, kind of ruined the level for me a little.

This is my second warrior, but also my very first actual Asura character (finally).
Nothing flashy. I just liked the idea of a no-nonsense Asuran warrior who can mess up your day.

I also wish I discovered the joys of dual axes sooner. Such an active and fluid playstyle. Good fun with high stamina regen, throwing axes and Asura-flipping between enemies.

I've only done this boss before the nerf, but it had practically impossible breakbar timing without strong CC and basically fully healed if you didn't avoid its life siphon.
A real kitten of a boss if you went in unprepared with a less than ideal build...
-
>Also, you can now channel Glint underwater.
Almost jumped out of my seat when I read that, heh. Eliminates a longstanding issue.
I've been sticking by my Herald rev though, so am interested in putting these changes into practice.

Often when I've had performance issues like this, I've learned to associate it with something happening on server end.
Anyway, I do believe my isp may have had recent maintenance, so had the crazy idea to do a router reset. Seems to have worked.
-
Before they do that though, might want to do something about servers they're already using...
Last 5 or 6 days have been nothing but constant rubberbanding, ping spikes and latency (even just roaming open world).
In Australia by the way.
What is the average ping of Australians playing in NA?

I've never seen my ping below 240.
Tends to range from around 260 - 330 depending on the map or activity.
You tend to not notice much delay in the midst of combat, but it makes instruments almost impossible to play.
