    > Hi all. I have recently made an Asura Elementalist but am unsure if I have chose a good lore-wise decision. Please give your choice of a male elementalist and a picture(optional).

Asura Elementalist is probably the safest race you could have picked for Elementalist lore-wise. Another good one would be Human. If you wanted to be different, I'd wager Norn Elementalists are pretty rare. Even the modern Charr have a rich history of magic use though they tend to shun it until recently.

  2. Yeah. I think they should have just postponed the release until it was safe to get the VAs in personally. Focus on smaller updates and QoL things in the interim with the staff working from home. I'm sure you and I are minority in that thought though and if the release didn't come out ASAP rocky the game would diiiiiiiee, etc. I could have waited.

Changing it entirely is a no go though. It's a strong condi cleanse, one of a precious few ele has on a weapon.

    > You're not reading what I said, dude.

How would I know what you're on about if I didn't read what you wrote? You're not making sense. I'm not even opposed to what you're asking for. Maybe you need to re-read what I wrote?

  4. I prefer the new ones. The old ones had scaling issues on larger characters and the auras were generally mismatched to one and other when you had multiples of different types applied. The egg ones were ugleh.

The new ones are perfect. Goldilocks zone, just right. Never touch them again!

  5. GS4 needs a shorter CD. In that way it could be a more defensive skirmisher weapon with (a very predictable) burst potential. Puts sword and dagger in a better place for straight DPS and gives GS a niche.

As it stands GS isn't very threatening DPS (it never was) and the defensive potential will never match what the auto-evade offered. Auto-evade deemed bad? Okay sure. But the CD at present on GS4 doesn't give enough for more defensive play.

If the final attack in the GS chain gives stamina and I'm expected to be rolling around, breaking my rotation, being more defensive and opportunistic I need that block to be more often. Because while I'm doing all that, I'm doing 0 damage as opposed to the mediocre but consistent damage I was doing pre-nerf.

The change was alright they just needed to go all in IMO. I see what they're trying to do with it. It's just not quite there.

If he or she does not like to enter the open world in that state could speak to the NPC and become COVERT..

    > >

    > > That would revitilise the game i believe and fun things will happen :D

I mean, WvW is a thing. But I get what you mean. If it were confined to certain areas it wouldn't be so bad.

  7. Making 10 people chase me around because I kept pew pewing someone. And occasionally screen capping the really good whispers for compilations/tickets.

I don't know how I get away with it for so long sometimes, I'm really glassy. When the wiseguy eventually shows up it's mixed feelings of "damn funs over" and "its about time you showed".

There's a thrill to it. How long can I keep these chucklekittens engaged before they decide they've had enough of my nonsense? Good while apparently!

I'm not always like that though. Sometimes I just veg out and run around doing simple things for dailies and reward ticks for the sake of it. That's nice too.

Theres a certain quality to it in WvW that makes it exciting. You never know when you'll run into other people or some big thing will happen and you're always getting rewarded for it.

Couldn't tell you how ideal that is profit wise, but I make out comfortably and I enjoy myself. The reward system for WvW is probably one of the best updates they did for the game mode.

    >

    > That's pretty much the entire pretense of Bound by Blood prologue, and we're basically seeing what happens when the charr don't have any more enemies to fight. Bangar "going after Jormag" isn't the most recent example, it's the outcome of what ends up happening. With no common enemy to fight, he's seeing old enemies turned allies as enemies again, and sees them as having an overwhelming advantage (charr divided into four, the "enemy" has an Elder Dragon ally) so he's pushing to reunite the four Legions and tame his own Elder Dragon.

    >

    > In effect, when faced with no enemies, they _make_ an enemy. And this ends up dividing the charr race between those who can move on from needing an enemy, and those who can't (who've mostly joined Bangar and the Renegades by this point).

If you have a Blood Legion character it makes the initial story basically reveal earlier on how off his rocker Bangar is. "I didn't think you'd aim an Elder Dragon at YOUR OWN LEGION! NOW I NEED TO GET MY OWN!"

Let's forgive the fact that we don't "own" Aurene.

Charr hero saving the entire world irrespective of people but just randomly decided man my own legion sucks! Coming back to my peoples ancestral homelands after being invited by my Imperator I've decided to suddenly attack my own people! Yeah!

    Come on man.

    >

    > You're "technically" right that fashion doesn't have to be flashy, but that's not my meaning behind the use of the word in this case. I'm trying to say that looking flashy, having high poly count skins that look (and I'll be murdered for using this word) "cool" with good detail and vibrant colors in a multi-player game is generally viewed as prestigious. When you start giving out this same quality of gear to who ever has a dollar the prestige of those items starts to go out the window. There is no "fashion ladder" if I may be so bold as make up a term. Please don't murder me I know that's not a real thing

No ones going to murder you for being wrong. Ben said it best.

    > Somehow the Svanir is able to make us fighting an evil twin without killing us or inflicting a condition to us. Then, I wonder, why Jormag isn't using that powerful weapon on everyone?

They are. You can see a couple vigil/pact soldier aberrants who seem to be these spirit haunts. Those guys are probably dead but it's not "them". And it doesn't need to be true that the target is dead as it happens to you.

    It's a copy, a non-essential "essence" of yourself.

But it can't be literally your soul as that is what makes you, you. Killing it then would be akin to killing yourself or a part of yourself (setting aside the argument over whether the spirit can ever actually truly die).

An argument in supernatural circles IRL goes about the idea of ghosts being the actual person VS impressions in the environment following highly emotional or sudden death(s), demonic masquerades, evil rituals the individual involved themselves in, etc.

The boneskinners habit of using the voices of it's victims to lure in the unsuspecting for example is based on the stories of skinwalkers IRL.

Spooky shenanigans. I'm interested in where using the essences of the Spirits of The Wild is going to lead us. It's probably not a "good" thing we're doing that.

  11. The gem store is an optional faster route to point B from point A and looking pretty. Howl and cry as some of the more impassioned 'critics' might, there's actually quite a lot of skins in the game already that require no gem store purchases.

They are adding more as recently as this last release. They added more in their releases prior in the immediate past.

Nothing you can buy in the gem store gives you a mechanical advantage in the game that can't be achieved by simply playing the game. This is how it should be. This is an old tired argument.

  12. It's not dead. It's different. But yeah I'm worried about any further nerfs. If anything I wish they'd lower the CD on the block a little more. That or make the AA chain faster altogether and replace the endurance gain with something more substantial on the third hit. Either/or. I don't expect both.

    > some ppl talking about gw3 !!!it is true?gw3 preparing?_? relase 2021 --22 ?_?

Not likely. They're probably releasing a spin off/side story game that may or may not relate to Guild Wars, but it won't be GW3.

  14. I'd agree the other races are due for a eureka moment or two (norn in particular and especially given the current story) and that we should focus a little more on the supernatural element (Spirits of The Wild, Jormag) of things and a little less the scientific and technological.

But the asura are the smarties of the races. It shouldn't be an issue that they tend to be the folks that figure things out or map out the process. It's their forte. There's an organic way to do it VS "Can the smart race not be so smart for a min?", because that comes off as equally artificial.

I really liked this episode, Bjora Marches was well done.
