  1. So, I don't know how many people who frequent thesde forums were playing in the pre-HoT era of the game. But, during that time, Anet made a lot of promises and gave us a lot stuff we would eventually see in the game.

    What happened next?

Anet couldn't deliver on those promises in their current state at the time. The Legendaries that were promised? They finally added the last of them back in May. Raids weren't implemented until like 3-5 months after HoT was released, when they were promised in HoT. We also had a real content drought as the Lead developer left the company. And there wasn't huge layoff to point to as the reason for such uncertainty in the game; It really felt like the game was dead.

So, I do think the announcement was overhyped and probably could have been shortened, or at least be advertised as a Celebration of Guild Wars anniversary at PAX, with the reveal of the next saga. But won't fault Anet for being wary of throwing things out there that may not be able to deliver on. Anet has tried very hard to deliver on what they promise, and whether its what people really want or not, that's up to the individual.

  2. Elder Dragons don't really speak though. If it is Jormag's voice, then its either an amplification of the corrupting whispers or Jormag is speaking through one of its servants. Mordremoth was able to speak through telepathy, Zhaitan spoke through its servants, and Kralkatorrik only spoke through its conscience.

I personally think it would make sense to have a strong villain that is aligned with Jormag as part 1 of this story. I would be completely disappointed if Jormag just appeared to be slain within what would be a LW season span. Think about it. This could be the "Scarlet Briar"-type character leading Jormag's march south. Could be a female Koda, could be male Norn, etc.

  3. As I posted in the aura thread, I think the only change ele needs right now is to move Powerful Aura from the Water Trait Line and make it a Grandmaster in Arcane. This would allow eles to not always have to spec to Water in order to run an Aura build. You might actually take Earth for the Protection boost, or Fire for the condi cleansing.

  4. I voted Other. I think Auras are in a fine place, but I think the GrandMaster Trait Powerful Aura in the Water line should find its way in the Arcane Trait line. I feel like this would bring more diversity to aura-centric builds. Sure there might have to be trimming and tweaking to make sure it doesn't become something like the SoI Mesmer did, but in the long run it will make the archetype more interesting to play.
