  1. The chance to get a precursor during any content is roughly a 1 in 250,000 to 500,000 chance, that **one time** you get an Exotic. The chances are so low to keep them from flooding the market and making Legendaries even less Legendary or easier to obtain; you have to account for all of the people playing as well. If each person got an Exotic drop, the chances increase rather quickly. However, with how low the drop chance is for Exotics, in addition to how much even more rare a drop for a Precursor is... Strikes having a chance to be rewarding is the least of your concerns right now.

Anything that can give you a random RNG exotic weapon can reward you with a precursor instead. Strikes aren't affecting Raids because of precursors. They have equal chances as far as we all know, as we don't know percentages.

  2. Being a user of D912Pxy for the last year or so, along with working on ReShade to support it, I can't comprehend how your framerate is getting cut by any amount at any point - unless you had made no changes to your config.ini to match specifications for your GPU. The last few months I've been running at 4k with a GTX1080 and an i7-2700k @ 4.3GHz and I have never experienced this. The configurations, if done manually, will require some technical finesse and quite a lot of trial and error. There are users on the Discord server that can assist you to an extent with this.

Note that, as another person pointed out, it sounds like you've likely not built a sizable cache to avoid the PSO Cache performance drops, having to save it to your current disk so it can simply be recalled later. This can significantly increase the amount of data that has to be processed, new, when encountering any new players which all have different skins and skills, flashes and effects. It all takes time to render, convert, and save to your HDD.

Regarding performance, my frametimes at all points during gameplay (WvW, World Bosses, general exploration,) are all higher and **significantly more stable** than without D912Pxy - FPS is increased roughly by 8 at the lowest, upwards to +100 in a non-intensive environment. In my opinion, running standard DX9 GW2 feels like the equivalent to running a game at 30FPS when it allows native 60.

I'm not going to tell you to keep using it, but your original post reads as rather biased with a hint of not knowing the configurations; I'm not sure if you're using the non-AVX, AVX, or AVX2 builds which are all separate, nor have you listed which revision of D912Pxy you're using; needless to say that being reluctant to share your own specs doesn't bode well for the sake of this argument, either.

It doesn't seem like you want to find out what could be wrong, rather it seems you're jumping to the forum out of frustration - and I'll just say that the Developer and other contributors do not visit here very often, if at all. If you want to provide constructive feedback and see if anything can be done to alleviate any issues you're facing, I would recommend joining the Guild Wars 2 Development Community Discord Server.

  3. I'm personally gay, it's whatever. But I really don't feel the need for any special representation in a game I've been a player of for essentially 10 years now...

My point was is that this type of topic usually just causes some civil unrest and it isn't really worth the negative exposure it causes, much like the guy talking about banning his daughter from playing it and oddly enough, reporting it to his community board to be reviewed? (Honestly this sounds like a personal problem of his and a threat to dissuade Anet from anything in the future, and ideally I feel those comments should be removed.)

  4. I just want the choice to decline any soulbound items from Level Up Rewards or Quests; a visible option "Skip Soulbound Item" - at least this would remove having to drag / drop / possibly type the name of the item you're trying to destroy.

Whereas I generally agree with you, it should be known that any time you have the ability to clarify on something, that opportunity should be taken. The entire audience isn't always present at all times. Information gets passed around and people create their own assumptions and then believe them, then pass them on; suddenly the source which said something isn't going to happen, apparently is going to happen.

Basically, even if you covered it before, it's considered old information after awhile and you need to reiterate on it when possible. This is why a public plan of action would be a very good way to omit further speculation and raised hopes; that is, if they are actually planning stuff ahead of time. If they are going with the flow then there may be nothing to show... and this would just result in further chaotic disorder as players would feel they'll be wasting their time if the game shuts down.

Even if there are no current works in progress (obviously there are, at least for now,) a roadmap or something like it, even if a WIP / Temporary / Not Final version of it would cease a lot of the unrest here.

Whoops, blame autocorrect. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hence my points of transparency and frequent communication. If it was communicated well that it would not be an expansion release (nor any hints,) or plans for Elite Specializations, then I believe most of this would have been mitigated. Also, if they would have established that WvW/PvP would not be a focus point.

  8. I find it pretty sour how poll posts only happen when there is community dissatisfaction.

As far as the announcement goes, I'm relatively neutral since I hadn't been expecting much after the layoffs and psychological effects removing all of those employees would have on everyone.

That and the announcement was already shown to be about the Living World.

If they don't like it, they won't wear it--and if they have a voucher for a free one, they'll use it but likely won't wear the set they choose.

    > No no. I mean as a "thank you" for supporting the game, you get to pick a skin to unlock. Which, in itself, is a great idea.

    > But, if you already PAID GEMS to unlock ALL of the skins, you get "nothing".

    > Except a box with a fancy name and a list of skins you already unlocked ages ago..

Sorry, I misread and I rephrased my response; I see I didn't do it fast enough. lol

    > Only wanted to bring this up as those two developers didn't rework the engine to use a newer graphics API, instead they wrote a translation layer for dx9 -dx12.... very different and has its own host of potential issues. I play the game on Linux using WINE + d9VK a project that does something similar, but instead translates the dx9 calls into Vulkan calls. Does it boost performance? Definitely, but it (like the dx9 -> dx12 proxy) is a hack. To truly rework the engine in DX11, DX12, or Vulkan would require a lot more work than people seem to think.

    >

    > **In fact, DX12 has more in common with Vulkan than DX9/10/11**. It was an entire rewrite from the ground up and was borne out of the AMD Mantle project (just like Vulkan was).

You're talking about something else. I wasn't referencing an API wrapper.

You cant be that out of touch with your players, you just cant be. Im sure the devs want to do more create more but the company overlords have final say.

I'm sure there's some truth to this, there always is. I think what we need the most right now is some transparency from the development.

  12. I assume you can understand why at this point, yeah?

    * Backlash after the majority of events, time and time again.

    * Reveal trailers being scrutinized and any positive feedback is cascaded upon by the loud minority.

    * Side-projects cancelled and a large sum of employees either moved or let go.

    * As a result of the last point, likely leading to increasingly stressful conditions and a variety of setbacks / communication issues.

    * Now releasing a previous expansion for free as long as users purchase the newest, as a means to both boost "fence-sitter" purchases and hook players for longer.

When I take those facts into consideration, I can understand some of the current problems.

    * Most exposure is about merch, sales, or BOGO (buy-one-get-one) offers.

    * Partnership promotional codes are only distributed to 0.01% of the amount of users who enter.

    * New store content is immediately injected into loot-box mechanics which is being outlawed in many areas now.

    * The time to develop an expansion would likely be considerably longer, yet this is still something a large majority of users want.

    * Due to the aforementioned, opt-in for Season-based releases; content feels short, dry, and outlived by the community.

    * Game still lacks proper rework of a newer graphic API which two singular developers of a console emulator can implement in a few months.

    * Lack of quality of life UI and function changes which would ease the learning curve for new or returning players, somehow already included in plugins from unrelated Devs.

    * Lack of long-standing goals that do not feel like a chore, or short-term goals that feel rewarding.

Players are now concerned about the longstanding longevity of the game they have played for many years, myself included. I've been here since Guild Wars: Factions was released. I built my desktop (which I'm even using now, but with upgrades,) during the premiere release of Guild Wars 2 in August of 2012 specifically for Guild Wars 2. Binged the game for hundreds of hours and enjoyed it thoroughly; so many fresh experiences.

What it boils down to though is that over-hyping content that is already cut and dry will lead to a **lot** of backlash, especially if they call off of work, fly, or drive to witness it.

I hope ArenaNet's efforts to push Guild Wars 2 forward continues, but I really hope they consider **what the problem actually is** at this point:

**Transparency, frequent communication, and a plan of action** need to be available to your players.

    **Best of luck.**

((And, no, I'm not leaving. But my playtime has severely dwindled due to the circumstances.))

**PS: Don't turn this into a "hate on Anet" thread, thanks.**

I was definitely not referring to Anet responding, as that rarely happens.
