Instead, they should allow groups within a squad to be real groups if there are only 5 players in it. So you would have all the advantages of a squad, but you could also enter dungeons, fractals or any other group instance together as group within a squad. This would also be helpful for some guild special events, so many things could be managed more easily.

Some of the AP stuff can get really grindy, f.e. monster kills, weapon kills, collections, icebrood saga stuff where you need to press f on 1000 thingies for 5 AP(exagerating, I know, but you get the gist if you look at the achievements of the saga). Don't burn yourself out and don't expect to be done with it in a week. Do what's fun for you.

    > How will a raise in the limit let 'new players' catch up? Won't everyone, 'new' or not be able to acquire the new Daily AP?

    > If not, do 'new' players get easy Daily AP, when other players had to participate in more difficult content for the same AP?

A suggestion that's been put forth is this:

Make the current "Daily+Monthly" cap instead be "Daily+Monthly+Historical", and make the cap 15k+however much is in Historical. This would mean that anyone who's both capped and did *every* historical achievement is still capped, but someone capped but missing 5k from Historical suddenly gets 5k points worth of dailies available.

That's the same with all passes. They work from Shared Inventory too - place it there and every character has access.

  4. Have you done DS? There are MPs to get just from contributing to various events there.

Also, as said above, the adventures. Some will be essentially impossible with high ping, but some should be manageable.

Alternatively, you can get Funerary Incences faster by spending more Trade Contracts, or by paying in Elegy Mosaics, at the Tomb of the Primeval Kings.

Remember to actually **enter** the Chantry of Secrets, not just go into the cave where the entrance is! It has a PoI that is *not* part of Bloodtide Coast.

Oh, exactly how I've treated it ever since! She even has access to member-exclusive vendors in both order HQs!

I read that as "my active story is PoF, I join a buddy in LS2, after accepting progress that same LS2 step is now my active story".

I can't imagine it's designed to *overwrite* decision you've made yourself. **That** seems pretty clearly a bug.

No, this is a *bug*. I've had it happen. My Order of Whispers Norn is basically Priory too after joining my partner's instance.

Her level 50 storyline (racial affinity) became a fascinating jumble of alternately having Sieran and Tybalt join her.

All the new weapons and skills are more references toward the *existing* GW2 professions and elite specs. Look at Mesmer: *very* Chronomancer-themed, or Necro: just as Reaper-y. Warrior got a skill to be proficient in *every* martial weapon.

I never once advocated the position against your claim; rather, I only asked you to prove yours. Which you can't. Because you don't have the data. Only Anet has the data.

    > >

    > >

    >

    > I can too personally attack when you're trying to make me appear as if I'm being foolish. And with all due respect, your opinion, and all the data can never actually replace experience.

Firstly, someone "making you appear foolish" is **not** a justification for personal attacks.

Besides, you manage looking foolish perfectly fine on your own.

You make a claim, back it up with anecdotal evidence (remember: *everything* that isn't actual verifiable data is anecdotal), then get pissy when called on it. Making a claim regarding objective states (group X is a majority i.e. >50%) and then saying "data can not replace experience" is fundamentally foolish.

The number of people queing means *absolutely nothing* for you argument without a total number of players to compare it to. Since you don't have that, you can't actually supply data supporting a claim to majority. **Don't make claims you can't support - they make you look foolish.**

On top of this, we have clear statements from ANet that no more than 10% play raids. That another 40% of the playerbase would be active enough in Fractals, PvP and WvW to consider themselvs non-casuals *and still not do raids* seems a bit of a stretch. There are *absolutely* players in that category, but 40% of the population? Seems unlikely. (Note how I'm not *claiming* that your statement is incorrect, just that it is unsupported and that I find it improbable. See bolded above re: making claims)

  11. The primary advice I'd give is *don't rush*.

By that, I **do not** mean "don't bother with gearing" but instead "set relaxed goals". Mostly, don't aim for Ascended right away - the gain over exotic is nowhere *near* worth the huge amount of gold/work they take for a new player. Get those later, as you go.

To get Exotic gear, doing the dailies while leveling will easily cover a full set of exotics at 80.

During leveling - don't actually bother all that much. Equip what you get from story (assuming you're doing that) and leveling. Fill out/replace if you feel weak. However, on my leveling characters I often forget even to get trinkets despite those being ~half of your available stats.

    > I'm pretty sure tomorrow's Vision of the Past release counts as a normal episode.

It does *not*. It's a release, but not an episode.

@"Pax.8692" We don't have a fixed date, but ep3 will be the next thing after SAB, so likely mid (possibly late) april.

The major release following Super Adventure Festival is the third episode of The Icebrood Saga, in which we’ll get some respite from the bitter cold.

This _non-episode release_ of the saga.

New maps, new events, new environments - that all comes in the episodes. Next episode is likely in April ("next major release after SAB").
