With jackal you can find highways made of sand in the skys above crystal desert. Spooky and cool.

3 and 4 have lots of ascended loot. 4 even has Skyscale unlock. For story: you fight a god, crazy lich and a dragon. You even kill 2 of those listed.

    Lots of content and profit.

S2 has none of that. For S2 story: watch a youtube.

This [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lz2IuVLrnQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lz2IuVLrnQ) is low damage and squishy?

    Mirage? I like this one:

Hard to die, does good damage, not that many buttons to push. Not super easy, but more on the beginers friendly build that can even solo kill scary group oriented monsters. Note: exotic gear is more then enough.

    What I'd do(and did):

    - get your Mesmer to 80

    - while doing that, explore many core maps. You can fill like half of Mirage there

    - start PoF to get Raptor mount. You need to do only 1st combat mission

    - maybe do, maybe don't: run around PoF map(or two) to fill the rest of Mirage.

    - go back and do story in "correct" order

  5. Gold:

    - first time I got to level 80, I bought full set of exotic gear with "butter" and "iron".

    - check your bank, sell crafting materials. Some sell for good money

    - always sell on TP or salvage for mats(for sell or use).

    - at this time Mystic Coins(you get them as login reward) sell for a lot. 2 gold for 1 MC?

    - Mystic Coins are for Legendary gear. Thats a loooong grind. Sell a couple of MC and get yourself a nice exotic gear

    Food:

    - eat, drink

    - proper diet is very important for an adventurer

    - for start, get some food that gives health over time

    Gear/build:

    - start with something simple

    - gear must match build. Power vs Condi

    - don't look for Raid, Fractal builds. Look for "open world", "survivable"

    - Marauder better then Berserker, Trailblazer better then Viper. This is for Open World.

    - high DPS good, but if you are dead, you do zero DPS. So some extra defense(HP and/or Toughness) helps.

    Combat:

    - move, dodge

    - do not "face tank"

    - break bars!. You see "blue bar", nuke it

    Mounts:

    - get now!

    - unlock atleast Raptor

  6. Combat:

    - active. WSAD based. Movement is part of combat. Not point-and-click.

    - if you like being active(move) in combat you'll like GW2. If not you'll hate it

    Classes:

    - all classes can be traditional tank, DPS, support

    - all classes can be melee or ranged

    - because of that, you pick class based on unique class mechanics

    - this are F# skills. By default they are bound to F1, F2, F3, ... keys

Mesmer: I pawn stuff with my clones

Guardian: I burn or heal or protect stuff

Necromancer: I suck life energy and morph into fugly monster that pawns stuff

Ranger: My pet pawns stuff ... sort of

Elementalist: I pawn stuff with all mythical elements

    Warrior: I angry, I smash

    Thief: gimme stuff

Engineer: I am Iron Man. Gadgets and stuff

Revenant: I pawn stuff with dead heros stuff

  7. PvE has more then one mode. What is good for Raid or Fractal in not good for Open World(OW). And even in OW you have different situations. Trahs mobs, big bosses, meta events, world boss, legendary bounty, ...

General rule I have for gear for Open World:

    - if Power build: everything is Marauder, but armor is Knight. Exotic is good enough. Upgrade to Ascended goes: Trinkets(farm Living seasons maps) -> Weapon -> skip ascended armor coz its so damn expensive.

    - if Condi build: everything is Trailblazer or maybe Rabid if you get alot from criticals. Exotic is good enough. Upgrade to Ascended goes: Trinkets(farm Living seasons maps) -> Weapon -> skip ascended armor coz its so damn expensive.

Idea is that "if your dead you do zero DPS".

    What I play most:

    - Reaper: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSgAEZlJwaYOsLWJeeX1tUA-zRRYiRF2IxKkoSgIqgYDBPmlRdtA-e

    - Ranger: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?POwAceNlZwAZbMNGKO0K2r7CM3B-zRRYiRH2IxKkIqgeDhmTAPmF5HtA-e

What he said. When I started, I made my first gold by selling butter. It looks like it only drops in low level maps, but is required to make high level food. Iron ore is also very profitable.

But in general, whatever you find, check if you can sell it on TP for good money. If not, salvage, and then sell mats.

    > Let's turn this around a bit. If the open world is so popular, why do we have to do soooo many repetitions of various achievements to complete the meta of an episode?

Padding. So "content" lasts longer. Old trick.

  10. I have:

    Resolution: Windowed Fulllscreen

    Refresh rate: Default

    Frame limiter: 60

    ...

    Animation: Low

    Antialiasing: FXAA

    Environment: High

    LOD Distance: High

    Reflections: None

    Textures: High

    Render Sampling: Native:

    Shadows: None

    Shaders: High

    Postprocessing: None

    Character Model Limit: Highest

    Character Model Quality: Highest

    Ambient Occlusion: On

    Best Texture Filtering: On

    Depth Blur: Off

    Effect LOD: On

    High-Res Character Textures: On

Light Adaptation: (is grayed, cant click)

    Vertical Sync: Off

    Motion Blur Power: at zero

I also run Reshade to get more sharp image. LumaSharpen and Clarity filter. I hate "blur".

FPS is at 60 everywhere as long as its not big wide open area with big number of players. But even then its above 50 FPS.

The biggest impact, for my PC is: Postproccesing and Shadows.

  11. Pick a class, or better to say, play style you really like.

Get a mount. Just basic Raptor will do.

Do stories in chronological order(as much as possible). Core, LW2, Heart of Thorns(HoT), etc ...

If you dislike super-mario(crazy jumping stuff), its OK to skip Heart of Thorns. You won't miss anything. Its a blend, rushed, low quality story anyway. But atleast unlock HoT maps.

    Get Skyscale.

    >

    > I guess the counter question would be: If it's no different, then why did they need to make it? ?

    1. They refuse to admit its not working and they think "if we just make one more push it will work"?

Its an old human "bug". It goes like: when people invest into something, they don't want to lose it, even if its a fail. So they invest more into fail. And more. And more.

    2. They think that "old" is bad and must be fixed. So dynamic events, group events, meta events are old and so bad and must be replaced with new shiny toy. The fact that events are popular is not important. its old, therefor bad. It must go away.

    3. Its like tools. You use tools to solve problems. But they only know "strike" tool. So everything must be solved by "strike".
