    > You can choose to sacrifice your friend, Quinn, in the story line of the human street rat.

If you decided to stop the bandits from poisoning DR instead of saving Quinn, maybe it could be Riot Alice who is there instead since Quinn was working under her. Although she was at Prosperity when Mordremoth attacked, there's no confirmation of her death.

    > And for the nobility choice, your friend is Lord Faren, which wouldn't feel all that special.

    > And for him to suddenly become a valuable asset outside of the comedy route would destroy all the character build-up Arenanet did for him.

It don't think it would because Faren can still be funny and also fight. We saw him do that in Kourna, even though he got his butt handed to him.

    > I'm not sure if all Asura, Sylvari and Norn stories even feature such a friend character.

I do know that you get assigned to a different krewe as an Asura depending on your chosen college. As for Norn, I know that you become a temporary member of a warband if you choose "Blacked Out" in the biography. Other than that, I'm not sure either.

  2. Since we're able to bring NPC allies into Dragon Response Missions, I thought that it would be a huge missed opportunity to not include characters from the personal story, specifically ones that exist due to the biography options you chose when creating the character. For example, if you were playing as a Charr, one of your NPC allies would be your sparring partner that you chose when you created the character (Maverick, Euryale, Clawspur, Dinky, or Reeva) and maybe your sire (Clement Forktail or Vallus Smokemane) if they were alive.

Another example is if you play a human, you would be able to fight alongside your childhood friend (Quinn, Petra, or Faren) and/or Deborah if you chose the "Dead Sister" option in the biography.

  3. Is there a story reason why our warband wasn't present during the celebrations? Any speculation? I personally can't think of much, but my best guess is that they might've been assigned to protect the Black Citadel from potential attacks while Smodur and many of the charr stationed there were going to the celebration.

Is there any chance we might see them during the saga?

    > He literally says here, "Rox always handles the spiders", and she did there though he helped a little bit.

Right, but he was killing spiders without any sign of fear. Does that mean that his fears go away when he's with Rox?

It also doesn't help that my medication runs out by the time I get home to play GW2. Thick health bars have really made it easier for me to deal with this, and now that I know they aren't intentional, I'm very disappointed.

Can you elaborate? Because it does put me at a disadvantage. It's easy to get distracted for me when my screen is cluttered with particle effects and fake enemies. It's one of the reasons why I don't PvP as much as I used to.

  8. Revenants are basically a combination of Ritualists and Dervishes based on the spec you play. Think of it as a D/Rt if you will. For spirits, you use Renegade stance. You can also equip staves as a melee weapon (which there are Scythe skins for) and flash enchantments are Facets in Legendary Dragon Stance which you can consume to do stuff like summon enchanted fire to burn enemies or knock them back. You can even assume the avatar of Mallyx with "Embrace the Demon" in Legendary Demon Stance.

    > You guys are making way too big of a deal over other weapons not having a heat modification. Realistically, the only things that could be added would be quite insignificant because the weapons need to stand on their own. We're talking about things like Rifle#1 gaining a short bleed on auto, Rifle#3 getting +1 bleed stack, Rifle#5 apply extra vulnerability and so forth. It's just not worth the trouble.

    > The only thing that needs to be balanced properly is the damage output of Photon Forge. We're giving up a couple of things to be able to get Photon Forge and we are unable to use kits during it. Personally I'm very worried whether Photon Forge lives up to the DPS loss from not being able to use other kit skills in PvE. PvP modes I'm sure it will work out just fine through the sheer utility it brings.

I agree somewhat. Sword itself has a less than decent damage output without any accumulated heat, which is why it has a heat mechanic (makes sense because engineers wouldn't really have finesse with swords so they use technology to enhance it.) My problem with other weapons not having heat modifications is that engineers already lack weapon swap, so dealing with people that are far away from you is a burden with sword. Sure, Mortar Kit and Grenade Kit are a thing, but then you miss out on the exceed skills that come with the new specialization. So I think heat mechanics on other weapons, even if it's only on rifle, is justified.
