ehm you know my right hand is in a cast atm and I managed to do it yesterday with just my left hand. So if I can do it then you should be able to as well.

  2. In all humility I am something of an expert at Jumping Puzzles, and normally I can do the Clock Tower almost every time.

However due to a misfortune event my right hand is in a cast currently. So even I thought that attempting to do it with just my left hand is wishful thinking.

But that didn't stop me from trying anyway, as I predicted it was night impossible to manoeuvre under such time pressure using the A and D keys, let alone make it on time.

And yet after 20+ tries I managed to get past the leap of faith and reached the top.

So question is am I insane or what? Because even I would think I'm crazy to pull off such a stunt.

    > Conflagration can also mean war, like he’s good at war and has tactical understanding

True but secondary meanings require context to be clear. Like "fish" when you say fish you usually mean the noun i.e. the animal, however it can also be a verb as in going fishing.

  4. Fire and Conflagration eh? May I ask what is the difference?

Conflagration by definition is a huge destructive fire, so it's size then? Well given how huge Primordus is I wouldn't expect anything else than it causing a conflagration.

I mean seriously ANET anything would be better if you have no idea left, like Primordus could be the Elder Dragon of Fire and Puppies.

**EDIT:** I have been doing some thinking about it and I turned my attention to Jormag, as Primordus is Jormag's weakness and vice versa.

So shouldn't both their dominions be opposites? Fire is opposite of Ice. In that case if **Jormag's dominions are Ice and persuasion then Primordus' should be the opposite i.e. Fire and the other could be something like SUBMISSION** Go ahead ANET you may use my simple yet fitting idea I won't be mad.

  5. Yeah it's the hidden achievement for playing an instrument during Metal Legions concert while on the stage.

However I do not own any instrument offered by on the TP so I thought it was beyond my grasp.

Fortunately I remembered that I do own instruments like the **Choir Bells** and **Super Boom Boxes.**

As it turned out the Boom Boxes did the trick for me and I did get the achievement, so if you are in the same boat as me you can obtain the achievement this way.

However the real reason I'm making this post is because the Choir Bells don't seem to work. I know this because even if you already have the achievement you will still get knocked off the stage if you attempt to play an instrument during the concert, however playing the Bells does not make this happen.

Which is strange considering they are more instruments than the Boom Boxes, so is this a bug or intentional?

Because if it is intentional then it's a bit of a low blow from ANET, because it just means they wish to "motivate" players to buy the instruments on TP, which is made pretty obvious by the fact they are selling them all at a discount atm.

  6. Overall the best land mount for mapping is the Jackal, the Raptor is also good however there are a few things that make the Jackal better.

1st of all it's the only land mount that works equally well regardless of the terrain you ride it on, as it's blink ability works the same regardless if you are going downhill, uphill or level terrain. The Raptors jump however will not speed you up when going uphill because the Raptor will just crash into the ground.

2nd the Jackals blink works even in mid-air. So if you decide to jump of a cliff to get a poi on a lower level the Jackals blink can be used to prevent it from dying and thus causing you to get dismounted by using it right before hitting the ground. The Raptor however is the most susceptible mount to dismounting via taking a large fall.

3rd The Jackal is the hardest kill by enemy NPC's as by just unlocking it's T1 mastery it gains the ability to dodge enemy attacks while blinking. So if you need to go through a camp full of enemy NPC's you can just dodge though them when they start firing at you. The ability to dodge attacks can be passed on to the other mounts if you reach T4 with the Jackal mastery, but even so it can dodge up to 3 times in a row while the Raptor only twice.

Of course every mount is useful when mapping, The Springer, Griffon and Skyscale can be used to reach Vistas that are very high up, while in maps full of water like Bloodtide Coast the Skimmer is the best mount to use. But like I said on land the Jackal is overall the best as it's not picky when it comes to terrain and it's less likely you will get dismounted while riding it.

  7. Why is this a reward for the **Merchandise Collector** achievement? I don't get it, I mean it's far more easy and cheaper to just buy it from the vendor, so why is this a thing?

Now I would understand if it was some more lavish version but not the exact same thing, so why? Is this an overlook or something?

  8. So apparently it's possible to cheese this achievement using teleportation. As I managed to do it by using Spectral Recall after grabbing the flame to port back up. So anyway unless mesmer portals work too this could be a bug which necromancers can exploit.

  9. So with the new food introduction I'm curious about something - which food is considered the best?

Now I know that the **Bowl of Fruit Salad with Mint Garnish** is the best food for healers, although it's only better than the **Delicious Rice Ball** by giving +70 to concentration, which honestly doesn't seem to make it worth the effort.

However what is the best combat food? I mean most of the other additional stats are kinda "meh." Now if there were a herb that increased outgoing damage by 10% then it would obviously start a new religion, but there is no herb like that (at least not yet). So my guess would be **Peppercorn-Crusted Sous-Vide Steak** as it increases power and ferocity and reduces incoming damage by 10%.

But that is just my guess, so am I correct or is it another type of food?

  10. Well now that HoT is unlocked for anyone that owns PoF I got to thinking about this.

I heard that the LW5 areas will require both HoT and PoF masteries although I have no idea if it's true.

So if anyone knows it's true or not feel free to correct me.

However if it is true then it poses a few questions. Like the experience we will gain in those new areas, I mean for which masteries will it count?

Because if it's true we will require both to get around then it stands to reason it should count for both too.

Also could it be possible we will get new HoT masteries too? Or maybe it will be a whole new mastery line which requires both HoT and PoF mastery points to unlock?

    Thoughts?

  11. Well since a lot of players just had HoT unlocked for free it stands to reason they could do with some help with the masteries.

It just so happens that a while back I made a guide for players new to HoT, so I will link it here.

I also have a guide on how to train mounts, so for those that just purchased PoF I will link it too.

  12. **6 Astral Weapons?!** Has someone lost it?

Why is the Istan crafting collection item so much more difficult to acquire than the other 5? This is a mountain to climb especially if you only just started.

I mean crafting even 1 is difficult as they require 50 Kralkatite Ingots, for which you need 500 Kralkatite Ore and Powdered Rose Quartz.

And while Kralkatite Ore is easy to get the same cannot be said about Powdered Rose Quartz, so what? You expect everyone to stand all day in Istan awaiting **Brandstone Impact Sites?**

More over we all know that most players have been neglecting them because it's a much better idea to craft **Stellar Weapons as they require the same amount of Kralkatite Ingots to craft,** however they are Ascended quality while Astral are exotic.

Now that we are on the topic why wasn't the requirement simply crafting a Stellar Weapon instead?

Seriously 6 Astral weapons require 300 Kralkatite Ingots to make i.e. 12 stacks of Kralkatite Ore and Powdered Rose Quartz - we can't fit that even in fully upgraded crafting material slots.

Now I know that their 50 ingot requirement is probably an error and they likely were suppose to require 10 or so at first, but even if so it was never fixed.

So either fix the requirement or the amount of ingots they require to craft.

    > While the fit related achievements are bugged currently, How to Feed Your Skyscale can be completed by collecting regular Volatile Magic on the Dragonfall map.

    >

    > Before you freak out again, while you can collect Volatile Magic from multiple different Dragonfall maps, there is a daily cap on collecting Volatile Magic from flying through it. Expect 2-3 days to complete the achievement.

I know that, the fact I tried it in Dragonfall means I know how the achievement works, right? However I don't care, I'm angry because this mastery sounds like a shortcut for the achievement yet it's not, hence I feel cheated.

  14. ANET I can't, I just can't, this time you just outdid yourself.

So I got my Skyscale now and I decided to give the **Rift Repair** mastery a try. The first place I attempted it was Jahai Bluffs and as it turned out after "fixing" the rift it created a path of **Volatile Magic.** So I'm thinking to myself "hey this is a nice way to do the **How to Feed Your Skyscale** achievement. "So I go to Dragonfall and look for the rift near the Pact Camp, I "fix" it and a path of Volatile Magic appears again. **HOWEVER as it turns out this Volatile Magic DOES NOT COUNT FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT.**

Meaning I am doing what the achievement requires of me, but the way I'm doing it is not approved by ANET. Because it's not like unlocking and fully mastering my new mount should provide some benefits, like making some achievements more easy.

Well thank you ANET, you really know how to make this game feel rewarding.

  15. Well actually it's pretty easy to guess what's next as there are few options left, but also the location of the newest map "Dragonfall" teases it.

We could have ended up anywhere after getting out of the Mists, however we crash landed far out at the beginning of the **Unending Ocean,** in other words right on DSD's doorstep.

Not only that, but the island that was created there because of it is made up of piecess of the Mists, add to that all that's happened during the episode and it's certain it will attract the DSD's attention.

Personally I find that interesting, as I think the DSD is the most dangerous of all the Elder Dragons. Why? Because it's element is Water. So imgine for a moment where we find ourselves in a situation where all water becomes corrupted and turns anyone who drinks it into minions of the DSD. I mean all life is in danger as nearly every living oraganism in existance requires water to survive, be it animals or plants. Yeah it would be interesting to find the world in a situation where you either become a slave to the DSD or die of dehydration. I bet Taimi could come up with a way to filter the water to make it drinkable, but if the corruption were to reach global scale there would be no way to save everyone from it.

**However let's forget about that and talk about what new features could come with the conflict with the DSD:**

    - First the obvious i.e. an Exclusive DSD Dye Kit, as it's the only Elder Drakon Kit we don't have yet.

    - Possibly 2nd gen Aquatic Legendary Weapons - I mean why not?

    - This would also be the best time to introduce a Legendary Aquabreather, like it could be a collection requiring all 6 season 5 episodes unlocked, just like it was with Aurora and season 3.

    - An Aquatic Mount i.e. one that we can ride underwater, since there won't be any 3rd expac so far, meaning we will continue with more PoF masteries, so another mount is certainly coming along.

    - Possibly Aquatic only Elite Specs, if this were introduced then they would probably be unlocked for players that have either HoT or PoF unlocked, just like with the Revenant profession, not to mention we have enough Hero Points to master a 2nd Elite Spec by having either of them so it wouldn't be a problem for those who lack one or the other. And while Elite Specs normally are introduced with expansions this situation is different, as most players would not be keen on paying extra for aquatic only Elites, so intoducing them with LW5 would be a far better option.

So what does everyone else think? Is it time we get to know the DSD better? And if so what other possibilities do you think it will open?

  16. Now as I mentioned in a previous post I don't mind the time gates at all.

However I now understand why a lot of players are outraged.

The **Raising Skyscales** collection is a double standard hece it's easy to feel outrage over it.

It's a double standard because for one of the sub-collection we have to feed the Skyscale 12 times however we han only feed her up to 3 times per reset, hence it takes 4 days to finish.

However another sub-colletion requires us to acquire 14 different treats and also feed them to the Skyscale, however unlike with the "normal food" we can feed her all 14 in 1 go.

So on one hand the Skyscale is suppose to be "full," but on the other we can feed her all the treats we want.

So the collection is not well thought through, hence a lot of players are annoyed.

It would have been much better if the "treats" were instead used as special ingredients to make different types of food for the Skyscale, but there was a limit on how many can be fed per day. In fact the "food" could have been cooked by **Seimur Oxbone,** since it's made from Bloodstone Dust among other things it would make sense if he was the one we had to ask to prepare it. So yes ANET while I don't mind the wait, you should not make your collections so inconsistent, else you will cause a lot of players to be upset.

  17. Listen ANET this achievement is just stupid.

It ruins the whole meta, as a lot of players just spend their time sitting near bridges awaiting fot the repair or defence events instead of helping with the main event.

Not only that but you have to do 25 of these events to finish it, so can you at least reduce it to like 10? If not then you could integrate them into the metas, so they will only occure when we are doing some escort events which require crossing them. So like when the escort reaches them it will be the moment when they get attacked and if we fail we have to rebuild them again so the escort can continue.

Then again you could just make the requirements more elaborate, like it could be that we have to participate in the repair and defence event for every bridge once rather than just keep redoing the one we prefer.

  18. It has come to my attention that a lot of people are angry over the fact the Skyscale collections are timegated.

Personally I'm not in the same boat as I only finished the medicine collection so far.

But I still don't understand the rage here, I get it you want your new mount as quickly as possible, however I see no reason to be so angry.

With that in mind I would like to remind you about **The Wayfarer's Henge** it's an ascended back item from LW3 E5, which you earned by also completing a time gate collection chain.

It is very annoying as you need at least 16 days to complete the whole chain. **Not only that but each of these 16 days you need to complete all 5 heart quests in Draconis Mons.**

Now that is unreasonable, because it's just a back item and we already had plenty of those before and we keep getting new ones. So the only reason to acquire it is for the unique skin it provides.

However the Skyscale is a new mount and as with all mounts in GW2 it functions in it's own way, so it's unique. So it's not something we can find an alternative for with a different look.

It's not a skin, it's a completely new feature, meaning it's alright to require some effort to acquire, even if part of that effort is **patience.**

The real reason why everyone is so angry is because they can't wait to get it. Like what do you actually expect will happen once you do? You will just fly around on it for a few hours and get bored of it soon after. And maybe you'll get the chance to brag for a month or two to those that don't have it yet.

So everyone just chill, I know you are hyped to fly it around LA, but really it's not worth your nerves, the hype will drop very soon as it did with other mounts and stuff the game has to offer.

  19. _The rune and sigil salvaging release last year was in anticipation of releasing legendary runes and sigils—the final components of legendary core equipment._

Which I will point out with insufferable smugness is what I predicted last year will happen.

Yes, how did I know that?

    https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/64232/this-is-not-going-to-work-unless

Do you think I have a crystal ball hidden somewhere at the back of my head?

**Yeah, yeah now someone is going to say "Legendary not Ascended," as if that matters. Even if there won't be ascended too, then it's still going to be the same grind fest that I predicted. I knew this new upgrade salvagaing mechanic will evolve into something like that.**

  20. Technically this whole rune salvaging was a bad idea or at least how it works, but this thing is good for nothing.

Personally I will never buy it because I have absolutely 0 use for it, since I have an Endless Upgrade Extractor, so I can extract all the upgrades that drop for me and then sell/salvage them all I want. **Now I may be bragging right now, but there would obviously someone in the comments saying things like "jelous?" "never say never" and "why do you have no use for it?" So I'm just getting that part out of the way.**

Right so why was it a bad idea? Let's start with this:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qLrFPcTJeoM-QvYl49OwgEXHwfHVN_-R4aSKopr98xk/edit#gid=946737751

Now I know some of you have already seen this, but for those that didn't or didn't fully understand let me explain what it means.

**In simple terms there is only 1 type of gear it's worth using on i.e. Masterwork gear containing upgrades.**

Yes I know there are also <68 level rare and exotic gear types of gear, but they don't count.

Why? **Well how often do you get those?** Once you are level 80 most drops are level 75-80 regardless of where you go, so <68 level are about as common as precursor drops.

And why should you not use it on 68> level rare/exotic gear? **Because they drop ecto** and when salvaged with Mystic or Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic you get like 66% chance to get some.

As for masterwork gear salvaging them with Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic is rarely worth it. Most of the time you lose money when using it instead of the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic.

Lucent motes are currently worth 10 copper, so with 30 copper per salvage you lose 17 copper per salvaged item. **17 because Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic requires 3 copper per salvage itself. Also masterwork upgrades only drop 1 Lucent Mote per salvage so there are no alternative values. Of course if you get a Charm** or **Symbol** then it's worth it, but with an average 2% chance from masterwork upgrades, well good luck with that. Not to mention the fact their value is dropping too, and on that note let's move on to the most important part.

    **The Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic is it's own undoing.**

You see the more players have it the more common become Charms, Symbols and Lucent Mote drops. **And the more common they are the less valuable they become.**

**The Symbol of Control for example in now worth only 1/3 of what it used to.** I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but the point here is whether or not the Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic is worth having. Well seeing how it is it's own worst enemy not really. There may actually be a time when using it will cost more than what you get for it, like if all charms and symbols drop below 20 silver each.

Yeah I agree having a system where a name can only be used by 1 person makes it difficult.

    Anyway thanks for the recognition.
