Completely agree. The wing flapping animation of someone hovering nearby is very irritating while I'm on the ground, so I always end up moving away. If I see someone else is on the ground while I'm in the air, I try to go higher or bring the skyscale to rest somewhere.

But as you said, there are people who will deliberately get their skyscale wings in your face. Once while waiting for a world boss I asked someone to stop it. They assumed I had no skyscale of my own (I do) and was just jealous. Then they encouraged other people to join in the trolling. Not a fun experience.

    > Correct, that is exactly what they used to look like, but they were known as Skill points back then. We used to have to use Skill Points to buy all our class skills instead of hero points to get it all off a trait ring. Trait books used to be bought from class trainers to teach us the various tiers of traits.

Wow... thanks for the info! So interesting how things have changed over the years.

Will the rewards be given all at the end of the event again or do we need to do it manually? I don't want to miss anything.

After donating to the Crystal Bloom, talk to Lokka, an asura NPC with an icon above her head that looks sort of like a reddish mastery point, in the Eye of the North courtyard. I just did this and got the rewards for T1 and T2 as bouncy chests.

That might mean that Bangar is referring to them both when he warns Aurene that "they're playing" her, "like a fiddle". The two dragons are secretly working together in a "good cop, bad cop" routine.

Could be interesting - but "they" refers to Jormag, who doesn't really have a gender and thus is referred to with they/them pronouns.

    > And it's pretty far reaching to correlate mounts and waypoints with the state of the game.

Agreed. OP seems to be claiming that we'd be having more conversations while running to objectives. But in my experience, if you're running to an objective, you're having to dodge and combat the mobs that are in the way. That's not conducive to typing out a conversation at the same time.

If you look at PoF maps, with far fewer waypoints than core Tyria in order to make mount use more meaningful to players, are people having more conversations on the way to objectives? Not that I've seen. Again, you're busy either avoiding or combating the mobs along the way.

There is most certainly a point to be made about game mechanics encouraging social behavior, something I think GW2 does quite well with its emphasis on cooperation over competition, but I am completely unconvinced that waypoints and mounts are part of it.

If you do find that rich node you can hit it on all your alts once a day until it moves when update or that map closes. There used to be static one's in the same spot like in southsun but idk if those still around where we used to park our alts back in the day

    >

    > There is a static rich one in Crystal Oasis. Static non-rich one Auric Basic but that one is really not worth the effort. Several other easy to find locations in AB. Also good for Ancient Wood too.

    > There is a rich one in VB that moves around but finding it is fairly easy. Even easier with mounts.

There's also a rich node on the peaks in the middle of Kourna, which I always end up mining once a week because it's in my volatile magic gathering path for the Kourna daily. I think it moves around a little bit but not too far.

  7. My characters tend to have titles that fit my headcanon stories for them, like Archaeologist for the asura who I think of as having been involved in some kind of archaeology expedition that dug too deep and wound up becoming Destroyers. Or it just fits the aesthetic, like Golden or The Golden Child for my character with that color scheme.

I'm not sure I'll ever get the Shadow of a Shadow title, due to my veeeeeery sloooow progress in running the Maw of Torment meta over and over, but if I do get it, I'll probably put it on my main, who uses shadow magic. Right now she's The Tormentor due to also using torment magic (she's a scourge).

  8. Several of my characters have aspects of my personality to some degree - as a writer that's kind of unavoidable, as someone on the first page said - but I've only ever made one character to actually represent myself in game. The goal was to explore whether it might help a little bit in banishing some of my personal demons, like defeating her doppleganger in Elon Riverlands to reflect on certain depressive thoughts, and so on. So far it's been sort of helpful in some ways, but not so helpful in other ways. Now she's mostly become my Drizzlewood meta commander and lab farm tagger. :P

At any rate, most of my characters are from my personal GW2 headcanon, plus a few more I made just for fun.

  9. I've seen this occasionally while opening and salvaging unidentified gear in Mistlock lounge. Doing a lot of that gets you the repeating achievement about salvaging things (I forget the name, possibly entropy something) and I think it was this thing that popped up instead of the salvager achievement sometimes. I've seen it at least twice this way.

Pretty sure I was doing this a couple hours after reset but I could be misremembering.
