  1. hmm going to check if i can do that with MSI already or otherwise with another programm. but is it recommendable? The laptop is standing on my desk, even tough ive put some (idk how to call but basically so there is a bit room for the integrated fan towards the desk) the distance is still quite low, might in the end cause the contrary effect and overheat even more, doesnt it?

EDIT: So MSI has a fan regulator but cant do it with MSI because apparently the fan controller chip is not connected to the gpu (or sth like that) which would be the requirement to use MSI for adjust fan speed.

Can you recommend any programms for that matter?

yup...your guess was correct. its the cpu temperature. ive downloaded msi afterburner and displayed the data i wanted to monitor while playing. even while not having too much knowledge about that stuff, the pattern is very obvious.

the GPU temperature is even under rough environment like wvw between 79%-81% which i think is rather normal for a laptop also that temp never really spiked.

but the CPU temperature has always been between 90 and 100° which is even for a laptop too high. from the pattern it looked like, whenever the temperature would go above 100° a mechanism kicks in that lowers the FPS, the temperature cools down for a second on around 80° and then reaches over 90° again. and that in a fix pattern of 2-3 over 90° ticks, 1 temp drop (including fps drop) and then again.

well i whish the reason for those drops had been something i could have fixed software-wise, will have to buy a seperate cooler if i want continue playing gw2 ...

what i do wonder though, maybe one of you can answer this just bec im curious; why did only the cpu overheat and not the gpu? sure gw2 is cpu heavy but i mean its the same integrated cooler for both right? should the overheat of the cpu not affect the gpu, too?

anyway thank you for your help! at least i know now what the issue is

hi, ive just played gw2 for 1 hour and the temperature of my gpu is 58° i dont see it for the cpu though.

unfortunately i cant put the gpu to another slot because its a laptop

will try the directx12 and let you know if something changed. however, as its an issue that i didnt have over the last years like that

EDIT: Other games are working fine, but havent tried another MMO for comparison reasons

  4. Eyo ive spent a decent amount of hours to fix this problem and i just dont know anything else i can do. since 13th of august, i have regular FPS drops. when i say regular i mean, i have normal FPS between 40 & +60 (like 2,3 times) then it drops to 10-20. i believe its those FPS drops that make it look like there is laggs, but im not super experienced with that stuff so its just a guess.

    here is what ive tried:

    1. updated windows

    2. updated graphics driver (from website, so the actual up-to-date driver)

    3. deleted older drivers and other remaining data (got hand holded wiht nvidia support so the driver installation has been done correctly)

    3. made sure in the nvidia settings that the correct device is being used

    4. put character limit in game to lowest

    5. character resolution to low

    6. no reflection

    7. other settings low-medium aswell (even though geforce experience shows it could do way more, also when i use automatic setting in the gw graphic settings)

    8. cleaned all temporary data

also it doesnt matter where in gw2 i am at that moment when checking my fps. its everywhere the same.

    this is my specs:

    geforce gtx 1050

    i7-7700 cpu 2.80GHz

    16 GB RAM

also something ive noticed, the first 5 min im in the game, it works perfectly fine and then it starts with the FPS drop fix routine

i hope anyone has a brilliant idea on how i can fix it. Im finally done wiht my exams, finally ready to waste my freetime on this game, that im playing for 7 years and im so close to ragequit this rn because ive spent my entire first free day trying to fix this.

    please help me ^^ ...

EDIT: im aware that there is occasional FPS drops in the game from time to time especially when there is a lot of effects, thats not new. but my issue here - as its litterally at every situation in the game - is different as it has this fix pattern and its litterally unplayable (not exaggerating). because of these drops i dont see animations of bosses etc. never had it that bad since i started playing gw2 7 years ago

    > The only problem with point 10, is that it encourages server bandwaggoning and wouldn't be healthy for the population of lower tier servers, especially with how the current WvW population is spread. The reward would have to be minor enough to not cause this.

i think a good reward would actually have another consequence. see, bandwaggoning is happening already and regularly. latest example? take a look at eu servers. fsp & underworld, both servers linked and now both full. i mean yea the reason for it is popular streamers/guilds, fights, w/e. but lets say, there would be actual motivation to win a match up because of a tournament (which will never happen again, im aware) or because of reasonable rewards, it will - at least in my opinion - create a balance between servers/players who enjoy fighting, who would only log in if they hear about fights and servers/players who actually enjoy capping and keeping. i mean, ngl, i wouldnt even consider porting if someone calls in team chat that 5 roamers are about to cap a t3 objective and its the same for many many others, so im being very objective here.

i think a balance in motivation / content would in fact be providing a total more content. if it actually matters if a t3 objective stands or falls, it will automatically bring fights with it and both parties: ppt and fighting focused playerbase would go for it.

  6. Someone posted that topic in the german forum and i think its a good idea and should also be in the english forum. Maybe out of every upcoming post, there is maybe 1 or 2 that the devs havent thought about and maybe want to include even.

So lets start with the feedback! I highly recommend, as the user in the german forum did, to **only write about your personal whishes for the next expansion and not argueing about someone else's opinions / whishes, so the devs have it a bit easier for an overview** and also to keep the idea of that topic on line. thank you zamu.6734 who came up with the topic in the german section.

    ###########

Here is what im personally hoping for:

    1. 3+ new raid wings

    2. new elite specs, but specs that have been intensively tested before releasing so there would only be small balance patches necessary if even

    3. more template slots (both for equipment & build). even though its financially spoken more worth it to just create new characters, personally i like the idea to have every version you want to play for a specific class on 1 character especially interesting maybe for those who have something like a "main"

    4. maps that automatically drag high population every day and not just for achievements. see like the HoT maps, where you get full maps every single day almost every meta rotation. id like the devs to see why those maps are being played so much. give people reason to grind maps and hope for their luck! compare it with maps that also have a chance of dropping infusions but which are maps that are not as popular

    5. new guildhall; the ability to doubleclick items in the guildbank to get them either into the guildbank or out of it

    6. new set of legendary weapons

    7. worked over underwater skills & combat

    8. 1-2 new mounts: wouldnt even mind if it takes actually grinding time as for the skyscale. even though there were many complains about it being so time consuming, in my opinion its the nature of an MMORPG to grind and "work" for specific stuff, as for mounts. make it actually hard to get them (tbh rather hard obtainable than just time consuming) but those mounts being useful enough for players to want them not just for the sake of completition

    9. underwater map!

    10. WvW: even though i understand why we dont have season tournaments, id like the idea of actually getting rewarded for winning a match up. there are obviously many other points that me and other wvw players whish for, but that would go too far atm i think.

and thats all that i have in mind atm!

  7. I wanted to see how much might that trait can keep up maximum. So ive simulated a 100% boonduration and 100% critchance (dont ask why, i was just messing around). With that boonduration you would be able to apply 16 seconds of might with a cooldown of 1 second, so technically as long as i keep autoattacking with a weapon that has a casting time of 1 sec or less, i should have permanently 16 stacks of might, correct? but in fact its been only ~12-13 stacks might.

so i dont know, am i overlooking something? or is the boonduration or the cooldown of that trait buggy?

  8. Situation:

I have 3 sigils equipped on 1 template slot "A" (all legi sigils only being used on legi weapon) and 4 sigils on another template slot "B" (again all legi sigils only used on legi weapon). On "B" i would occasionally switch the 2 handed weapon that has 2 legendary sigils equipped with an ascended weapon. obviously the 2 handed legendary weapon would lose the chosen stats and sigils and infusions. so far so good. however it automatically also removed equipped legendary sigils on template "A" of one of the 2 weapon sets while i wasnt modifying "A" at all.

so, lets say the 2 sigils on "B" where i occasionally swap to yet unequipped weapons would not be used on any other template, it would totally make sense that the sigils land in the inventory. but why does it unequip legendary sigils of another template that i wasnt modifying?

what makes it even more weird: while trying to fix it, ive put 2 legi sigils in my bank, so they dont appear in my inventory yet. the other 2 were used on "A" on a 2 handed legi weapon, and the same that i used on "A" on the 2 handed legi weapon, used to equip exactly those, on "B" on the 2 handed weapon that i unequip sometimes. after that, i took the remaining 2 sigils of my bank, to make sure to use those 2 sigils seperatly. okay so i try it out, i unequip on "B", and it throws off sigils of "A" that are not the same sigils being used as on "B".

also ive checked other templates of mine that have just 1 sigil equipped, lets call them "C" and "D", those sigils are still where they are supposed to be.

i know this is a bit confusing, but if anyone understands it :D and maybe had the same problem, i would be greatful for help, in case im overseeing something. or if this is a known bug.

    thank you!

  9. @"Moradorin.6217"

thank you for the detailed information! i wasnt looking to use it as a gold farming method, but i have just a lot of that unbound magic due to daily homeinstance and using the several map currencies for that magic. so was just trying to figure out how i can put it to a good use.

well the 5s average on the 40s price doesnt really seem to be worth it as you said it already.

so after seeing that statistic, i guess - aside from using that instead of any other currency for tributes (for legendary precursers of the second gen) - it seems like the only good use for it at the moment is the converter. thats basically never a negative result.

    anyway, thank you!

  10. Have seen videos that were made in 2017, back then trading in unbound magic for bundles were worth it, apparently even with high profit. Has anyone recently tried it out? ive bought like 10 bundles and that was definitely not worth it but i may just have been unlucky. so if you have made any other experience with that, please share it.

aside from bundles is there another way to make profit out of unbound magic that you are aware of?

  11. well everyone, out of curiosity ive kept track on what was happening on the MC side today ever once in a while. and meanwhile there are 100.000 ordered mystic coins for 1,9 Gold. If people here really think that is a wild conspiracy theory against the goldbarons or that its natural supply vs demand - go ahead :D

anyway, i was kinda happy people actually hold tight and stopped ordering for that price, idk if its because of that forum post or bec they actually thought about all that themself and we kinda managed to force those nice people from the 1% to actually invest more and more and more in the attempt to stabilize the price on 1,9 Gold.

Basically everything stays the same. If you are on the need-side and stay patient, youll win. if you are on the sell-side and sell now, youll win. but i have to admit, that my nose litterally started bleeding when i saw the 100.000 MC order for that price. Just thinking about it how much capacity these people actually have and thats only what they are willing to risk losing if things go downwards.

Anyway @ everyone who actually rechecked what i was saying and spread the word, thank you for that, lets see how this is going to turn out.

  12. not sure if alliances would even be a good thing for wvw tbh. in theory it sounds good, but if that is happening then your content will be reduced to 2-3 raids a week for couple of hours. i wouldnt be surprised if that is the reason why the idea of alliances has been delayed so much. its just a not well thought through idea.

and lets all be honest now. wvw would already be far more popular if anet would finally fix the server issues. its not even needed for big system change or special events. its just annoying as hell if you cant even get your no-castingtime skills through once 2 zone blobs are on a map. ofc everyone who is not dedicated to wvw anyway is losing interest in it.

personally id whish for 2 changes:

    1. to get the server issues fixed

    2. for those players who participated a certain amount of time to get rewarded if you make the first place in a match up. otherwise the entire match up system is just pointless aside from different opponents each week if you are not stuck in t1.

  13. just 5 min ago there have been new orders of each more than 10.000 mc placed to fortify the price of 1,9g. that is a handful of people driving it up or even just 1. so this is definitely not a natural demand of mystic coins.

this is a game of goldbarons vs playerbase. luckily the playerbase - no matter if you need mc or not - is on the same side. those who dont need mc can sell it right now for the probably highest amount of gold per mystic coin and those who need mystic coins should just wait for it to regulate itself down. actually the only players who could mess this up right now is those who need mystic coins and are impatient. there is enough people who have been hording mystic coins and just waited for that exact spot so more mystic coins can hit the market. the orders of 20.000 of 2gold has been vanished within 30 min after that post, the next order of 1,88g of 12k was down to 3,8k ordered coins before it got re-ordered.

so again for all that need mc, keep your patience. order the mc for prices between 1,5g and 1,6g. and those who dont need mc, if you waited for the right spot to sell them, that is it ^^

  14. > @"Just a flesh wound.3589" said:

    > Another possibility is that people came back recently, what with the loss of jobs, the stay at home orders and the announcement of a new expansion and they are crafting items that use up mystic coins, which is driving up prices.

that too but those orders are kinda too properly placed. 12 hours ago there have been thousands of mystic coins on the selling side for less than 2 gold, now there was a 20k order and the selling side obv a lot higher. the spikes are too high for a general demand

  15. You probably realized already that the price of the MC has reached new lvls. While it was somewhat stable on 1,5g- 1,6g - some "Gold Barons" are right now manipulating the market so the MC are reaching a new Standard of 2g at the very moment. I dont know why it is Mystic Coins they are picking or if they are just bored, but 1 Mystic Coin for 2 gold and thats probably not even their endgoal is way too much.

So here is a cry for hope towards the playerbase: please dont order mystic coins in the next time! 1,5g is already high enough considering its been around 1g-1,1g for most of the time, but if we order MC on top of the ~80.000 ordered mystic coins by the Barons, then its never going to drop again. Mystic Coins are luckily obtainable by doing fractals, logging in daily so there are permanently coming new mystic coins into the market so all we have to do is waiting a bit. For the sake of each legendary item you are planning to build in the future, stay patient and dont order MC for now!

  16. Its been some weeks now since the rollback but ive sold couple of items back then that were already listed in the tradingpost before the rollback and didnt receive the gold for those items. its been a total worth of around 350 gold out of 3 sold items. ive tried to contact the support with that issue, even sent a screenshot that proves that ive sold those items, im pretty sure they can easily check the difference of my liquid gold during that days - but all i got was a general mail that everyone got.

so i was wondering if you have any good advice for me or if you are missing gold from sold items during that time, too?

  17. > @"Healix.5819" said:

    > This is currently a common problem because some of the patch servers are handing out corrupted files, which causes GW2 to download them over and over since it's not getting what it expects. There are other causes, but this is currently the most common and can be solved by simply launching with "-assetsrv origincdn.101.arenanetworks.com" to use the main US patch server - only use it to get past the files you're stuck on, since it'll be slower.

have been reading these posts here and i dont understand half of them. "run with" "launch with" and whatsoever. anyway i have the same problem its stuck at around 50k remaining files and apparently its trying to download the same file over and over again.

so can anyone of you explain what to do in a very simple way? in forms of "right click the exe data, go to properties, then ...." please ...
