  1. While i support the idea of an obsidian shard eater, i feel like we have to get to the root of the problem. Obsidian shards are far from the only obnoxious item that pile up in our inventories, having a different eater for all of them merely works as band aid. Of course Anet wants to incentivize us to purchase more bag/bank space, but its starting to reach a ridiculous level at this point.

Bloodstone shards and other map currencies of that season is vendorable, the next season you can consume the map currencies for volatile magic and with eternal ice shards and hatched chili you cant do either. Its really going in the wrong direction. Obsidian shards is where it all started and now almost 9 years later Anet have been unable or unwilling to do something about it, rather they have gone even more in the direction of currencies that become useless and eat our inventory. So i wouldnt get my hopes up.

But really, the fix is not to have more currency eaters but rather stop going in this direction with adding new currencies that quickly become useless and fill our bags. Or at least let us easily get rid of them by consuming and or vendoring.

    > Yes, probably not giving any compensation (or just a bonfire, booster or a few transmutation charges) would have been far better than what has really happened. Once they decided to offer a valuable compensation, however, they had only two choices: They either should have been very careful to offer it only to those that truly lost something (but that would require a ton of work, as they would need to treat every specific case individually - and people would still argue about what constituted a significant or insignificant loss), or they should have offered it to everyone. Instead, they decided to offer it using very arbitrary requirements, that (as many players coulkd easily see) had nothing to do with actual compensation for anything.

    > And to top that, the actual compensation (again, completely independent from the mount license login reward) was also very spotty, with some players compensated for loss, while others got told that their (sometimes much bigger) losses do not qualify for compensation at all.

I doubt people would be very happy about no compensation at all in an event like this, after all, this problem was on Anets end. Honestly, i dont see the problem in giving the license to all the people that were logged in or trying to log in within a 24 hours timeframe of this.

Its not like people are very likely to buy that mount licence if they feel screwed over anyways. Its probably more likely they would buy another mount licence after the free one because they feel gratitude and like they were treated with respect.

Not a major spike mind you, I'm just tired of how most enemies melt in two or three clicks. Alternatively, I'd like a challenge mission added somewhere in Orr where you defend a point against an endless onslaught of undead that is timer based. The leaderboard would show the longest survival times. That could be done without hurting the frozen in time concept. I don't see resources being devoted this direction realistically.

You can choose your own difficulty level, play in ascended, exotic, rare, masterwork, fine or white gear. Naked is also an option.

  4. The central Tyria maps are great, however i doubt we will see much of a revamp. Maybe some bug fixes here or there. But they could add a little bit more incentive to play in those maps, like replacing the transmutation charge for map completion with something cooler. Shouldnt take much time or resources.

  5. How about a mount ticket for people directly affected by the rollback, bonfire for login last 30 days and god forbid, a black lion key, for people who logged in within 24 hours of the incident. I know Anet hates giving away black lion keys because its a top seller, exploiting the human natural draw towards gambling. But hey, everyone likes a black lion key right? And its only one so shouldnt affect sales too much, everyone happy?

Edit: It might even increase the sales because people get that juicy taste of gambling. What if i get a super rare next time? :open_mouth:

  6. Hello, i got a level-80 Boost Package sometime ago, probably while buying PoF or something. In this package, among other items were 25 mango pies and 25 superior sharpening stones. Seeing as they are account bound i have kept them in my bank, for future use. Today i was looking for them and they appear to be missing, i relogged every character to make sure i didnt pick them out on someone. And indeed as i feared they are completely gone. Not sure when they disappeared but they are definately MIA and i'm extremely sure i didnt use them all, only a few.

  7. This is not really a new subject and i'm too lazy to write a long message for blind eyes. But i want to say that i agree that the monetization of this game is a travesty. I used to buy gems, not because i felt like i had to, but because i wanted to support Arenanet. Now i have been boycotting gem purchases for years, simply because i find it ridiculous, all the things they managed to put into or link to the gemstore.

I would still be willing to pay for a meaty expansion pack filled with content (not skins). But the gemstore is on a complete boycott for me at this point, and i'm sure others feel the same, which can be seen in the quarterly reports. The first round of layoffs didnt seem to send a clear enough message, lets see if the second round will.

PS. I wrote this message for another thread that was criticizing the state of the game and how its tied to the gemstore in general. But the chinese (Arenanet) censorship agency found and deleted it before i had a chance to press post. So i'll post it here instead i guess.

I would give this 10 thumbs up if i could, these people have been around since before the game launch and you can find them in anything Guild Wars 2 related. I call them the pro-anet lobby, and they actually give this game a bad reputation if anything.
