  1. Maybe something like the dog snapchat filter or the E-thot eyes crossed, tongue out face.
  2. @"hash.8462" Wouldn’t that just be the equivalent of playing croquet with PvE mobs when you can just kill them? I can definitely see it being brought as an extra cc utility for certain bosses in in PvE, but for all the other mobs? I feel you would lose health or get killed before you finished laying down all your hammer skills, or that some of them would miss. I don’t have a problem necessarily with hammer not being a DPS weapon, but it could definitely use improvements to speed, type of skill casts and etc. Maybe some type of special trait that synergies with the protection output, or something that makes it feel more useful in a fun and innovative way would be cool.
  3. @"Shane.4023" I would personally level a few characters to 80 without a level boost, so you can get a really good feel of different classes and learn their skills really well. On top of this to will partially gain map Completion which will help when you want to craft a gen 1 legendary. I would only use a boost after you have a one or more traditionally maxed characters. If you use the boost, you will miss a large chunk of the game such as JPs, many of the different beautiful environments, as well as the lore from the side quests and etc. You will just have a much better understanding of the game in general.
  4. @"radda.8920" That is the main plot line of the EotN expansion, which was just a bridge to GW2, which was supposed to mainly focus on dragons. Not all of GW2s content is surrounded by dragons. The dragon issue will be done with at some point and maybe we will get new story based on something else? It would be cool for them to make Utopia cannon and the story centre around that. To you EotN is very bland but it is one of my most memorable and favourite places to go. The environments are quite beautiful and diverse with lots of lore and side quests based around many of the different races. Factions as well is very great in its own and similar ways. I think part of what made it so good is that it’s based in a unique setting and environment that hasn’t really been done before in a fantasy based game, with blends East Asia, Central Asia, South-East Asia and etc. On top of that, Jeremy Soule really has the compositional skill of being able to write music that greatly reflects the land and culture he is writing the music on.
  5. That would be cool if they brought it back. I personally prefer Jeremy Soule’s compositions compared to all the music written from LS season 2 till now. What I do is just have a YouTube playlist of a mixture of GW1 songs, from different expacs. This way I can switch to what ever music I want depending on my vibe or the environment I am playing in.
  6. I collect keys as I do map completion on my characters. This way I can use the gifts of exploration to make legendaries that I sell as well as get some black lion keys as a side result.
  7. If they were to add a playable race, tengu would be the most likely one they would add. I personally would want to play tengu since they are so unique. Bird humanoids with elf ears. They look even better with their updated models, textures and animations from HoT I remember first encountering them way back in GW1 when I first entered Kryta.

It would be so great to be able to play them in the future. I would reroll from my norn to that kind of dwarf in a matter of sec. Dwarf Guardian, oh boy.. > Do you really see Arenanet adding a race without a female variant as a playable? That depends on whether they do have a female variant or not, since we don't accurately know yet. >_"Male dwarves were never seen without beards, and while females existed, none were ever seen—or rather, seen and differentiated from the males."_ >https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dwarf This sentence was based off of what Ogden mentioned in the first game, >_"How do you know you haven't already met a female dwarf? Eh? Eh?"_ >https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ogden_Stonehealer From Ogden's supposed facetious quote, he could be implying that there are, 1) female dwarves and we just haven't noticed them because they look like males 2) female dwarves but we haven't seen or met them yet, similar to how we didn't see female charr in GW1 3) no female dwarves and he is just pulling our legs. Here are some other quotes from dwarven dialogue (though due note what NPCs say is anecdotal, we would need to see evidence of female dwarves in real time to be able to determine if they actually do exist and what they would look like if they are extant), >_"Does me beard look short to you? I think that nasty wife o' mine cut it while I was sleeping."_ > _"My youngest daughter was killed in a raid by the Summit a few months ago..."_ >_"Now now. I'm busy. Wife says our barrel of grog is empty..."_ >https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dwarven_Scout

They have made full episodes. I believe they already stated way before (I can't remember the source, maybe someone can provide it?) that not all releases of Icebrood Saga will feature maps and that some of the later episodes would be similar to LS season 1. DRMs are pretty much the same as the story content form LS season 1 but packaged in instances since they don't want to get backlash from people missing out on replayablility as well as having the current map and environments change drastically. I think where they went wrong is by promoting this product as "expansion like". @"Ashantara.8731" If they were to hold true to their original sentiment, I would hope that they add a new guild hall that is alpine themed with snow falling, darkish sky and polar lights (Aurora Polaris). It has been my dream to have a guild hall like that, kind of similar to the what the GW1 EotN login screen looks like. Maybe the guild hall could be in Gunnar's Hold and you have to retake it from the Icebrood? Here are some pictures of in-game shots of Gunnar's Hold/Nornhart Domains, https://imgur.com/a/DmqAotT and some more pics of Icecliff Chasms, https://imgur.com/a/DgMsz2j Edit: Gunnar’s Hold in GW1 has an arena which would be perfect since the other guild halls in GW2 have arenas for PvP as well.

If you were to pick one of the options, which would you choose?

According to the lore, they were _all_, regardless of faction, connected to The Great Dwarf, and it was this connection that was the basis for the transformation ritual. Basically, due to this, no dwarf was able to avoid being subject to the ritual - If they didn't like it, still the best they could hope for was to delay the effect for a while. > > > > > So, all of them eventually succumbing to the ritual is not exactly surprising or doubtful. > > > > > > > > Even so, magic exists in the world. And your point is? This information was from GW1 wiki lol... so it was written way before GW2. > @"sorudo.9054" said: > > @"Astralporing.1957" said: > > > @"sorudo.9054" said: > > > they specifically said deldrimor dwarfs, what if there are other families that renounced the great dwarf and are living somewhere out of reach for now. > > > a possible expansion, a legit way to add dwarfs. > > The ritual does not link to faith or nationality. It links to one of the core racial features. The only way to renounce that link would be to _stop being a dwarf_. > > > > Notice, how it affected not only Deldrimor dwarves, that were willing and enacted the ritual, but the Stone Summit dwarves as well - that were definitely _not_ willing, and have already turned to worshipping other entities (like The Great Destroyer, and later Primordius). It didn't help them, and they were still pulled along against their will. Apart from those that let themselves be corrupted (which turned them from being dwarves into dragon minions). > > > > the stone summits are deldrimor dwarfs....... No, the Stone Summit are a completely different faction of dwarves and. They used to be Deldrimor dwarves but broke away. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dagnar_Stonepate This is King Jalis's (Leader of the Deldrimor) cousin. a quote from this GW1 wiki page, https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Stone_Summit >_"The Stone Summit is a xenophobic faction which has recently broken away from the Deldrimor dwarves while being led by Dagnar Stonepate. They have had some recent successes in seizing power and resources from the Deldrimor dwarves, most notably in claiming the vast mine of Sorrow's Furnace, which became their main base. They utilize Ice Golems and Siege Ice Golems which are created via the Heart of Ice in their war. They also have enslaved the Dredge among other creatures, such as the snow beasts, Dolyaks, Giants, and even Djinn."_ Edit: changed font in quote
  12. I agree with Konig. The only way I can see dwarves having the rite removed is by them destroying Primordus. That way the Great Dwarf would allow them to change whether involuntarily or voluntarily based on the dwarves fulfilling their prophecy. Then again, that is all just speculation.
  13. I don't mind an update that doesn't bring a a new map, just like the Visions of the Past update: Steel and Fire That release brought out many new skins, lore, achievements, strike mission and etc. I personally liked this release better than the last Champions release, as it feels there are more diverse places that we can go, if that makes any sense without spoiling anything. If they made it similar in scope to the Visions of the Past release, then I wouldn't have any problems with it. I just find that some of the DRM are a bit boring as well as some of the skins overly flashy with too many effects that don't match. The armor sets and pieces, like the runic armor, raven/bear shaman armors, ebon shoulders, dragonrender helm, visage of the khan ur, stone summit armor and etc are quite simple but cool looking, and not overly flashy. I would like them to finish the leopard and wolf shaman sets as well as bring in more realistic looking armor and weapon skins.

You are the one who is trying to start conflict here. I never said I was right, I just am providing actual concrete points as to why I dislike hammer and why many people won't play hammer compared to other weapons. You are only speculating that I am the only one who feels like this. Basically by your logic, we wouldn't be advanced in technology and society without the use of facts, tests and cross referencing. Of course one poll is not going to reflect the majority of the GW2 community, but with multiple ones on different sites you can reach more people. > @"Obtena.7952" said: > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > I never said I had the stats,... > > I know ... and that's why you shouldn't have brought it up to being with. But I do love they way you used 'statistics' to dismiss my non-statistically based point ... but DIDN'T do the same for you own point. BRAVO! Ironically, you still conclude the weapon is useless to everyone, yet without the statistics needed to make that conclusion ... I guess 'statistics' are only relevant to you when they suit you. It is still quite a useless weapon, maybe not for everyone, but definitely not for RPers, cosplayers and the people I beat constantly in WvW and PvP. Your point is not only non-stat based, but is also lacking factually. I also never said I had the statistics, just basing on the build cycles people have used over the past 8 years, as well as (I know it isn't the best) anecdotal. That's why I think polls would definitely help clarify how people think. I've also given examples of the actual mechanics of hammer, which are based on fact and truth, rather than a baseless opiniated perspective.. > > ... but if we did it would still be extremely relevant to this topic. > > We can make polls to see what people actually think. > > And those polls wouldn't have the power to be statistically significant anyways ... and still wouldn't avoid the conversation we are having now. **You have this thinking that what people think is how the game should work** ... except we know that CAN'T be true because the game can't cater to individuals specific ideas about how the game should work. This means what I'm saying is true, exceptionally so in this case where there are more choices and opinions about how the game should work than Anet could possibly manage even if they tried. That's why hammer not having value to you in the situation you want to apply it isn't a reason to change it. lol isn't that exactly what you are doing right now? Of "what people think is how the game should work"? That isn't a strong argument. You are talking in absolutes as if nothing can or has never been changed in this game. Compared to how the game first started to now, is a good enough reason to assume you are wrong to think that. You also made another baseless assumption that I am the only one who feels this way about hammer guardian. What you are saying is definitely not true lol Look at metabattle, snowcrows and etc for the past few years, and there are barely ever any builds for hammer, and I am not talking about meta builds. What diversity are you talking about? You act like if they improved hammer, then it would absolutely take away so much diversity similar to them completely removing hammer from the game lol Anyways, continue to tilt by giving me patronizing "bravos" in all caps. Your logic is flawed, end of story. Now can we shift the conversation back to hammer mechanics and away from how you feel everyone should act and behave in a video game?
  15. @"Obtena.7952" I can’t take you seriously if you prefer to ignore actual facts and make up stuff just to fit your narrative. I never said I had the stats, but if we did it would still be extremely relevant to this topic. We can make polls to see what people actually think. My point is, if we knew what the stats were, it would help determine how we can leave or improve the weapon. What is the point of having a useless weapon? Exactly, nothing. It doesn’t “diversify” anything if many people won’t use it. You are making baseless assumptions where as most people on this thread have provided actual flaws or pros in guardian hammer mechanics. Again, since you have no proof to your claim on knowing how this game works is not true. Only ANet can give a concrete answer on that one. Just because you personally don’t want something to change for the better doesn’t mean everyone else feels the same way.> @"Obtena.7952" said: > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > > @"Obtena.7952" said: > > > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > > > > @"Obtena.7952" said: > > > > > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > > > > > > @"Obtena.7952" said: > > > > > > > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > > > > > > > > @"Obtena.7952" said: > > > > > > > > > > @"Ogwom.7940" said: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > So basically, you expect people to use hammer for literally RP purposes instead of practical ones. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Nope ... that's just your spin on what I'm saying to you so you can justify continuing to argue with me and ignore how the game works. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hey, I'm not going to force anyone to recognize the value of the weapon. If it's a no-value weapon to you .. that's not a problem that needs to be fixed. Not every weapon needs to have 'value' to every player, EVEN if you want to use it. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Nope, that's pretty much what your opinion implies... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I won't argue however you want to interpret how this game works. hammer not being useful to you isn't a reason to change it. That's not a matter of opinion. > > > > > > > > > > > > That is an absurd argument. > > > > > > > > > > No it's not ... this game isn't designed so that everything is useful to every player for whatever specific game mode they want to use those things. **Therefore, hammer being useless to you in PVE isn't a problem that needs to be fixed. ** > > > > > > > > If statistically only 10% of guardian users ever use and like hammer compared to 90% of people who don't, would you still have the same position? > > > > > > Well, considering it has ZERO impact on me what percent of players use a hammer, of course my position doesn't change. > > > > Considering “what” has zero impact on you? > > The fact that people do or don't play hammer; You made some assumption my opinion would change if I knew what percentage of people use and like hammer ... you are wrong. The statistics aren't relevant at all because you can't assume some percentage of players doing something or not doing something is meaningful or not. You don't even know what that statistic is to begin with ... so it's nonsense to make a statistically-based argument in EITHER case. > That wasn’t an assumption lol. You’re just grasping at straws at this point. All you points are absurd, unsubstantiated and being nothing to better this conversation. I will make an assumption now that you are just trying to be edgy and confrontational and when I pressed your perspective on this situation you started to make up stuff. I will make a poll to get some sort of background or hindsight on how people truly feel about hammer.
