That's why there are so many skills named after him - the magic _itself_ isn't forbidden, just the means he took to discover it.

I may be misremembering tbh. But he did the necro-no nos. Which involves bringing back souls, doing murder experiments, etc.

Just to add to this. In some early GW1 Necromancer quests they talk about how minions are created out of bodies without touching the souls. Manipulating souls is considered to be taboo by necromancers but it's not unknown for some necromancers to manipulate the soul as well as the body. The Lich, Palawa Joko and Verata are examples of those that manipulate both.

  3. Hi, my current guild has been terribly quiet lately (for months really), both in game and on discord. So I would like to test the waters and meet some new peeps.

    About me:

PvX player (I mainly focus on PvE open world, but have mad bursts into other game modes).

Former RPer, so I’m open to RP guilds (might be fun to get into character again)

    I love fashion wars.

Alt-player. I love all the classes and races.

I play most days. But if I sit down for a long session it’s usually on a Wednesday or Sunday.

I’m usually anxious in new groups but once I settle in, it’s hard to shut me up.

I try to be helpful when I can.

Big old nerd, who likes nerd stuff.

If you have any place for someone like me in your guild, then I would love to join.

  4. My advice, save your money (plenty of people hear wanna help for free). Use it to craft some neat stuff. Ascended gear would be a good place to start (you don't need it really, but I would at least get some from the laurel vendor when you can).

If that is not your cup of tea. Then get yourself into an active guild (if not done already) you will then probably be able to shuffle through HoT with buddy. It will help you a fair to to acclimate yourself to the gameplay (which you will need for PoF).

I would also recommend getting your hands on season 3 (another use for your gold). I found season 3 quite enjoyable and by converting some gold to gems to get it you will save some real world cash. Also story wise it will help with the build up to PoF, it flows into it quite nicely and have some nice loot and skins.

  5. I might be way out of line but if I may throw my hat into the ring.

Why not have the individual mounts available for 500 or 600 gems. Players (like myself) who want one of these mount skins but don't want to risk the RNG can still purchase the one that they want. But if they have less Gems they can still roll the dice for the lower 400 gems. Also players who have already bought the adoption pack are not losing anything.

On a side note 2000 Gems really is a lot for a single skin, especially when compared to the Halloween pack. A president has been unconsciously set in the mind of players that mounts to be about 500 gems. With the Halloween pack being 2000 gems for four skins. The Adoption Pack coming out at the same time as the Forged Jackal skin provides the appearance of very intentional gouging (I do not know & definitely hope this is not the case).

So in summery adding a pack that allows individual mounts to be chosen at a slightly higher price would be a largely acceptable compromise in this situation. In addition a standardised prices for skins should really be found soon. A single skin that equals the price of four is way too high and certainly has not helped the players bases attitude.
