From what I understand when you use it and store the gear, it basically becomes Soulbound and can't be used on another character that can wear that gear. So if I did that I would lose my Legendary gear and weapons to one character.

    Yes, but actually no.

What happens is your gear is placed into a character bound storage that the system checks and can be used for single or multiple build templates.

You can at anytime remove the gear from said storage de-equipping it from said storage to be transferred to another character or whatever else you wish to do with it. If you have not already they show this during the live stream.

  2. I watched the live stream. Firstly people complaining about the slot limits or price. They are looking to price similarly as bag slots or bank tabs. The number of slots you see is the limit for now but they are not against expanding the limit at a later date.

The only real issue that might get cumbersome is due to builds and templates having separate keybinding that's a lot of key binds.

  3. I legit do not get why people are crying about having to play for QoL like they have to with oh Idk bag slots or bank tabs. If you did not see unlocking more slots with gems coming I think you are disillusioned. What is the problem, I see people complaining as if Anet just stabbed them "locking them out" of what they want. Well two things, firstly you still have access to the feature and can use the slots provided. Secondly, get over it you are not entitled to everything free of cost. Look at the gem store. If you care that much but somehow are not able or willing to fork out the required amount for however many extra slots then convert some gold to gems like everyone else.

Protip: If the computer is crashing frequently enough for it to be considered an actual issue. Idk why you would be here complaining the story is too long rather than fixing your own pc.

Also If you actually complete the story not at a snails pace then you reduce the time possible for a crash to happen ;p

    > I think making players pay for this is one of the worst things Anet could do.

Its a 3rd Party program that anet does not support. I mean if you want Anet can make using it a bannable offence?

What part of this is not fair to monetise?

Anet monetises QoL and Cosmetics. This is QoL, They are still giving everyone access to the system with a limited number of templates. If people want the QoL that much they will pay for it.

If you for some reason figured you would get this free you are disillusioned.

    > Most people that do WvW, raid, or do fractals have multiple templates per character they use in those game mode. On top of that people with legendaries have x2 or 3 more than them.

    > As an example I have over 30 templates spread across 9 characters that are fully geared for raids, and most are for fractals too.

    > How much would these 30 and more templates cost me in gems? 6,000? 9,000? I'd have to compromise until I could accumulate the gold to convert to gems just to get back the same functionality I have right now with 3rd party templates. As for irl money to gem conversion look further down.

    > Delta's arcdps templates are currently the most important QoL feature that is available to me, and your implementation at the moment will severely reduce the QoL your templates bring, if your price them wrong.

    >

    > Currently 2400 gems cost 30€. That's the price of an expansion, an expansion that should have templates included in it as ONE of the many features in the expansion. These templates should not be locked to 2 or 3 per character. It would have to come with option to create dozen and dozen of templates as the player wishes.

    >

    > You cannot price the templates at more than 30€ in order for us to have something we already have with 3rd party add on. The templates shouldn't cost thousand and thousands of gems or hundred of dollars/euros just so that we can have 10 templates per character.

Tbh I dont seee them charging more than 2x-3x the price of bag slots or the like per one.

Also id like to point out that these templates have more functionality than the 3rd party ones, notably they actually store your equipment out of your inventory to be swapped at a moments notice.

  7. Now, this may come off as a bit blunt but GIT GUD. No seriously in almost all instances the story is not hard. You just need to run with a proper build and be flexible enough to swap out traits and utilities depending on your encounters.

If you struggle to get a decent build WoodenPotatoes started a series of a bunch of builds that work well in the Open World.

  8. If we go by what is to belived. An expansion was not in development for at least most of season 4. Thus even if they currently have one in development it would be in an very early stage thus not worth mentioning.

Just my opinion but somthing people seem to overlook but players think gw2 needs an expansion to deliver good content but dont seem to understand. Regardless if we have an expansion or not, anet still has the same number of staff. They just have to instead take a bunch of them off current and upcoming content for the long term project of an expansion.

Look at it this way. Anet says they now have 4 content teams. We have always had 2-3 episode teams. This means that rather than an expansion team that builds content in the background to be released at some later date as a expansion. Instead we have team 4 developing features and content to be released "when ready". For example as we speak team 4 could be working on Elite specs. Which in theory could be released some point during the saga. I would guess somewhere between episode 2-4.

The main thing is. If they dont have an expansion team to bundle content they can instead improve the content and quality of each and every episode instead. In a sense we could already be seeing this with the prologue. Which in my opinion and im sure many others has been one of the best living world releases in recent memory in terms of story and content.

    >

    > Actually expansion demand came through after living world season 4 was started.

    >

    > I dont disagree with polishing old content, but it's important to understand that when people are clamoring for an expansion to be -announced- they're not asking for it to be -released-. They only want to know if one is planned, because it's a hefty load of work to make one, and it's a very good estimation of the investment level Anet is willing to pour into the game. What they said about "expansion level content" and what they released shows there is clearly a very wide disparity between the definitions of the company, and that of the playerbase. All they're going to earn through this obstination of secrecy is a swift backlash. Unfortunate to say, but well earned at that : they cant say the playerbase didn't telegraph their expectations, and they've clearly said they are aware of them while taking no stance on it. If they dont actually address the playerbase clearly about what's going to happen, they're going to earn quite a lot of flak. Players dont consider 100 levels of an -existing- crafting profession, a revamp of the base's game's player vs player modes as "expansion content". And that has been stated many times before, so it's not like they're not aware of it. The problem is two-fold : Either they dont plan on releasing what players consider "expansion content", and keep on what they Believe is "expansion content" (akin to AAA game industry company telling their players "No, this is not what you want, we know what you want, here it is"), or they actually have something up their sleeve, and are not telling which is a massive PR waste at best, and a faux-pas at worse, because that's wasted good publicity to new players and the opacity is aggravating existing players.

The only expansion feature that has not been put in living world is Elite specs.

Also like to mention that it was said "Things that we wouldn’t rule out – but that we’re not talking about today – would be like another mount, another elite specialisation, those types of things."

Id also like to remind you that this is a prologue episode for kitten sake. They have barely said anything about episode 1 or 2.

Hmm if only MMOs tended to have a certain type of game mode. The kind that would let players vs players. Nah I dont think ive ever seen an mmo with such wizardry.

    That is not content.

They said what in the news post. The subject matter of the announcement is living world season 5.

    > > (2) we haven't had a content drought; it's been exactly 90 days since the LS4 ended (and we have had two festivals, including a new one, plus a variety of special events)

    > festivals are just rehashed content, nothing new. And yes, ls4 is content and one raid wing. Relating to the previous question, development time is being wasted on gem store art and design

Again wrong. Firstly rehashed content is still content. Also considering one of the two festivals run (Dragon Bash) Is the first time the festival actually ran (as a festival) as aposed to the old lws 1 format.

Not rumors, the devs themselves have up and said this.

Rewarding longevity to their game ain't worth anything apparently at least we get anniversary bl sales ( 1 free repair canister, bl merchant and trade post) can't wait!

You say that. Yet the fact they added such a system shows a level of generosity.

Just like im sure making this game an idle game will also do wonders for the franchise?

this game isnt hard, people just need to put that intelligence that they are suposed to have towards actually understanding the game and doing this wonderful thing called self improvement. People would find that self improvement is actually a wonderful feeling.

Aside from the fact its pvp only.

In my eyes its an attempt from anet to show they care about the pvp scene. After all They stated its an issue they dont want to leave hanging and provided a stop gap solution to try and mitigate the cancer that is ci mirage.

  15. Oh so many

I can see lws5 being set-up for dealing with another dragon in some way but id see that as more of an overarching theme as aposed to the meat of the season.

    > Is there a reason, financial or technical? Are the populations of raiders and t4 fractal players really so much greater than those of pvp and wvw? How come they get new content yet pvp and wvw get nothing for years. If i understand this games playerbase correctly, the vast majority only really do casual pve, so why have so much focus on new raids and fractals? 7 years of 3 point conquest in pvp, 7 years and 1 new wvw map. I get that they are slow to release, but at least raids and fractals get anything at all. Using the excuse that "pvp content comes from fighting other players" doesnt justify the neglect that wvw and pvp have been shown. Having one gamemode in a pvp game like this is pathetic (stronghold doesnt count), and having no new maps in a large scale wvw game makes it become incredibly stale.

    Yes so funny.

So are we ignoring how PvP not to long ago got a pvp map Djinn's Dominion. Thats "content" for you is it not?

PvP also has daily and monthy ATs which is in a sense automated content and also "another" gamemode.

You complain about the lack of new maps in wvw? Remember the addition of the desert borderlands from HoT? Remember how wvw players generally dislike the map?

Also WvW got the addition of the warclaw not too long ago.

All I can say is that its just a play style that lacks any real meaningful use outside of easy open world. Maybe this will change with an elite spec focused on minionmancy to revive this playstyle. Until then, its unviable.

Why is that? What do you constitute as real content?

Player housing can be and is a legit form of content. Ever played the game Archeage? Player housing done right can be a form of progression and a means of providing content.
