  1. We have many different guilds on AG, depending on your needs. if you wish to do PvE, the multiserver system doesnt matter now what server you are on, although we do have a few AG predominantly based Guilds. However if you want to do WvW, we have 4 main guilds that may be of service.

Check out [www.auroragla.de](http://www.auroragla.de/ "www.auroragla.de") for the guild contacts, and you can post a personal LFG there if you are looking for an AG guild

  2. I made these two pieces based off of the concept "Two Queens"

The Two Queens, [Nahlah and Dahlah](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Monuments_of_Nahlah_and_Dahlah "Nahlah and Dahlah"), jointly ruled Elona. Shortly after huge monuments were erected, the Scarab Plague hit, and both queens were blamed for the plague.

    I agree.

I also really do hope that the shortlists are an eclectic reange of weapons that arent so close to existing weapon sets, I'm just glad that I didnt submit my quaggan-plush-tied-to-a-stick design, cos i swear, I choked when the choya-on-a-stick was released (and laughed for a good 5 minutes). That would have been a waste of a submission as it would look way too similar

  4. Oh, oh!

I would like to submit the fan video i made for the Aurora Glade PvE Special Interests Group Horrorween Event last year!

There was a lot of collabouration from [CMAJ ](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCplGtxTFAc8j2BkaajVaq3A "CMAJ ") and the GW2 Community

Its a really great annual event, with lots of role play and fun competitions spread over several hours. (apologies for the 20min video, but it was condensed down from 7hours of footage)

Yeah I would really love bringing this one back. Nothing says Halloween like running around the labarynth drunk like a headless chicken.

When HOT came out there was a class balance patch about 2 weeks after release, and then 2 monthsish later. They may be hotter on this release, but still the best way to test things out is to leave it with the player base for a few weeks to iron out the issues.

General patches will happen over the first few weeks, thats a given. maybe they need to allocate server space, or people keep breaking quests. But more specific Class Balences will come in a lump.

  7. If you boost a character to level 80 now, you have 80 Hero points to full up your skills ready and willing.

If you then want to world complete, ie, go get all the in world Hero Points in central tyria (and HOT if you have it), you will then accrue enough Hero Points to almost walk into POF and almost go straight into the POF Class Specialisms.

This is the difference between manually leveling your characters and boosting them. I have 3 traditionally levelled characters, and 2 boostered ones. I have a hell of a lot more Hero Points spare on my boosted characters.

for example, my first ele, levelled traditionally, 100% map completion, full HOT tempest, only has 35 spare Hero Points. My boosted Rev, full HOT Herald, 60% map completion (so at least 50 more Hero points to get) already has 170 extra Hero Points to put towards the POF renegade Elite.

Unless they have decided to completely change the way you accrue the POF Hero Points.... then its allll a waste.

    > Is the "Helpful" button intended to mean that while you may not agree with someone, you have to admit that their comment has some use?

    > If a post is helpful and you like it, which do you choose? Is "Thumbs Up" a lower rating than "Helpful"?

    > When I look at the responses to a post, which one should carry more weight?

    > "Well, 4 people thought I was helpful, but 2 people held up their thumbs." What should that mean to me?

    > And if you can't give "Thumbs Up" to a "Helpful" post, what is "Thumbs Up" supposed to mean? Any of the meanings I had given it (agreement, positive contribution, etc.) would not have been mutually exclusive with "Helpful," so I'm unclear on what kind of endorsement these buttons are supposed to signify.

I do believe you are thinking way too much into this.

I would say that 'Helpful' can encapsulate answers to questions, help guides and bug reports. Its vague, but if you over think every time you go to reply to a post, its going to be negated anyway by someone casually recating with a 'thumbs up' for the sake of it being there.

Its like Facebook posts. Does a 'Like' really mean much difference than a 'laughy face'? other than the fact that every person is interpreting their reaction in their own way, and that you have no control over their reactions.

  9. I gotta disagree with the title opinion.

The 'air' of having a 'thumbs down' option would be the opposite of the 'thumbs up' (ofcourse Cornish, get to the point).

So if the 'thumbs up' means ; positive, "I like this", i agree

presumably the 'thumbs down' means ; negative, "I dont like this," I disagree

Thing is, I can understand if someone gets a 'thumbs down' for being trolly, abusive, hurtful or damaging. the 'thumbs down' is supposted to be a negative reaction.

However, the 'thumbs down' is also the ability for people to abuse opinions that are different to others.

If i were to say "pink fluffy unicorns are the best" and people disagreed with that opinion. Instead of engaging in a conversation (like forums are supposed to do) my comment would be given the 'thumbs down.'

I'm not saying that I am a snowflake that would be offended by such actions, but it closes off the conversation, (and really, that statement wasnt a negative one, so why would it endorse a negative brand?) and just because my opinions are different does not make them 'wrong'.

now, the new forum has only been open for barely a week. Had we actually been informed whether excessive 'thumbs down' would endorse user moderation? If so, that could have opened a whole new world of abuse for admins, that are really unnessisary.

I dont see how much of a benefit there would be of a 'thumbs down' feature either way. Every post has a report feature anyway.

  10. thing is, youve had a break from the game and come back with new players. Ok, thats great you've come back, but you havent really seen the improvements that have been ongoing in the game for several years.

Back in the days when wvw had horrific loading and lag, ok, so there are stil bugs, but we are talking about 3fps coming from players with the best rigs. the server lag was horrible. They have improved that dramatically.

Yes, I do agree that loading times to hubs have always been a problem, but again, once upon a time it was so much worse. Luckily the release of passes and new insances has improved this.

Re UI, they still update the settings choices, maybe your opinions will be addressed from your comments, but quite frankly, saying "oh, I want better than 1080p", which is already HD, I have a feeling they would be more focused on getting the lighting issues sorted out first.

you're saying that Guild Wars 1 was optimised. but GW2 is a whole new game, its a whole new mechanic with 10 times more content. the progression of hardware now compared to 2005 is huge. In 2005 'low-spec' and 'high-spec' computers had a smaller quality margin than 2017
