Hello all,

I finally found the cause of the lag I started experiencing recently with GW2 and looking at how many people are having this, it might be that they have the same issue I had.

let's start from the beginning.

I opened a ticket with GW2 support that was very nice and really tried to help.

Run all the tests they asked and sent all the report, then after an email with a possibile solution (Winsock Reset) I found out what was the issue.

right after I resetted the Winsock as explained by Jarbyn from support (<3) I noticed the game became playable again, so I connected my new bluetooth earphones ( Soundpeats Truwings on bluetooth 5) to keep playing a bit.

As soon as I did that the lag came back with ping on 1k+. I thought immediately that was weird but actually possibile! I thought I had to test to be sure it was the bluetooth.

Checked on Google and with my surprise I found many references online about people having bluetooth interfering and slowing down wifi connections even on phones (I am on laptop).

Suggested solution was to use Channel 1,6,11 on the router (2.4ghz) as they are more stable channels.

So I decided to test that.

Here in Italy was around 1 a.m. and Tequatl was about to come, so I thought it would be a perfect testing ground.

Started with Channel 11 and ping was between 200-400 (better than the 1500 ping spikes I had with bluetooth + wifi on channcel 13 - the less busy channel I have), switched to channel 6 and was around the same. Channels 1,6,11 did not make much difference, but leaving router on auto channel selection was better with ping between 50 and 130.

Then I switched bluetooth off and TA-DAA! ping between 48 and 88

I believe another solution would be to pass to the second wifi at 5Ghz as bluetooth uses 2.4Ghz, there should be no interference at all like this.

I hope this might help people that have the same issue!

Hi I have the same thing, and every day is getting worse. I am not sure what happened but my pc and router and line are the same I don't think it's but GW2 servers. I do not have any issues with other games. If before was some lag spikes now and then, now it became unplayable as of yesteday, I just logged in now TP is not even opening and I get disconnected. it definitely getting worse :(

Money never been a problem for me in gw2 I could craft several legendaries and really enjoy the collections. The only element is LI. They should make them purchasable with magnetite shards really. And btw I don't kill 10 bosses a week, you should know some bosses are harder some others easier. So people tend to clean the easy wings much more and skip others. And about wvw and pvp armors, I am forced to do raids cause the skins are so much better, the others legendaries are a joke compared. I do it only for the skin, I don't care about the rest pretty much.

I'm waiting for my squad to be complete and I was thinking with myself: "you have a legendary armor already, are you sure you wanna nerd to farm 300 for the second one? Repeating again 300 times content you did already? Please Anet, there must be another way to get li in pve T_T this is just too boring.

We all new how creative you are...but Petey was completely unexpected!

I can't express how much fun is riding around Tyria with Petey!

I found myself today doing events daily in Metrica Province, and living that map I've been in million times the past 6 years like it was brand new.

Petey opened so many new perspective on how interact with the world, and it also bounces on WATER!!!!!!!!

Really this is for sure THE BEST MOUNT EVER in any videogame I ever played.

I am really super happy and excited, I couldn't wait to come back home from work today to hang around again with Petey <3

Now if we could go back to the origins and let people be effective in group play and solo, whatever the build or weapon they use, GW2 would just become the perfect game.

To be honest it's very sad to see people kicked out of party in fractals or raids just cause they don't use the right meta weapon.

Would be nice to find a way to be good, they way we want to play :)))

I don't know, am I the only one seeing the portrait moving? Maybe I imagined it lol I think it's something important, i don't know why. I never thought it was in the inquest base tho. BTW officially we do not know how to become a lich in gw but there are a lot of hints to philacterys. Would be nice the idea of Joko's invulnerability secret being something so fragile as a portrait. I could imagine the desperate hunt to find it all over Tyria discovering new info on Joko's story on the way. The kilbron philactery is a big hint tho of how he became a lichi guess. Omg please Anet we need to know how lich works in gw!!!! ?

Hello all!

The thing that hit me the most of the new LW trailer is the moving portrait of Joko at the end. I was thinking that maybe Joko is so resilient cause his way of becoming a lich is not just binding his soul to a philactery but to a magic portrait as in the Oscar wilde's book. That's why Joko can't be killed but only imprisoned. What do you think guys?

Just a suggestion: if you're scared to delete one of these items check wiki, usually at the bottom they say if it's safe to delete them.
