Yeah I noticed something else in the billing for a 6 month don't wait in line pass I got through GeForce that I am keeping track of for next time if I am still playing. I get not wanting to enter financials anywhere & Paypal ^^^^ works too.
-
Mounts as loot instead of the current grind. Could be a way to liven up old content like dungeons
-
You can buy gems through GeForce now but you will also probably "need" to pay for better access if you don't want to wait for the sometimes up to a couple of hundred people ahead of you in the queue as a free user.

You are automatically logged in to a class you have never played or the one you play the least with the crappiest gear on April Fools Day

These are supposed to be goals ingame but I think they are mostly eyesores

The one thing I find the most ironic is Anet's use of the error message we Mac users got " used" to seeing every update to tell us they were ditching us. I have been trying the game out on Nvidia for when it goes dark here. All I can say is that the next expansion better be mindblowing to keep me as any kind of customer after 6 years. All those shared inventory slots & bank increases & bag character increases & permanent logging/foraging tools, world boss portal etc gonna be of no use.
-
I just logged in to Nvidia, created a free account & am in queue behind 126 other players (free account)
I can play for an hour? WAHOOO
I bought Heart of Thorns AND Path of Fire
Is the way Mac users are being treated the result of combination corporate thinking behind a pay to play expansions "free to play" game?
Another example of game developers losing control to corpo shareholders perhaps.
Regardless, Arenanet "soft cc's/cancel cultures" its Apple playerbase for whatever reason
But hey, spend $5 a month to play a game on somebody elses technological dime sounds like a win to me?
Not
I wonder if Anet gets a cut?

I did a lot of research on games for Mac before I started playing.
I've spent a bit over the close to 6 years I have played GW2 but I am not a whale by any means.
This isn't about wanting a refund either.
I knew gemstore purchases were being turned off today for Mac users.
Which is why I made sure I got that Dragon focus yesterday knowing that my game days were numbered.
If I buy a PC or a console, my experiences as a Mac customer are sure as heck going to figure in to whether I want to continue supporting Anet period.
Despite how much money I have already "invested" in a game, it's more about how I value my time ultimately.
My time in GW2 has been soured to say the least?

But, instead of cutting down completely Mac client, why not reduce the department in charge of the Mac client. I have no problem waiting more time for an update, for support, etc. At least, I can still continue to enjoy the game.
>
> I strongly suspect that despite framing Apple for everything, the "Mac department" has already been shrunk sufficiently that they can't maintain a viable Mac version of the game. They are only blaming Apple for things that would indeed lie in their own control, such as keeping the client alive for those able to use it as it is.
I can't help but feel this is also a bit of chest thumping against Apple as in David & Goliath.
But isn't Anet owned by NC Soft who are owned by ??
So who is David & who is Goliath?
Apple is ebil to game developers, ask Fortnight.
You go anet!
You go NCSoft!!
You go Taek Jin Kim, owner of NCSoft!

It's pretty clear Mac users are not as profitable for Anet. Otherwise they'd be scrambling to fix this issue. Everybody talks about the cost of the game & refunds but what about the cost of all those permanent account additions like shared spots or bank storage or material storage? What about all the gems spent gambling on the pyramid scheme black lion chest items you need 4 of to get 1 of to get 9 of to get 1 of over the years of play. How does one value ones time put into a game as well as money by choice only to be told you aren't worth it?

this is just dumb. why does arenanet delete my comments but allow this kind of "you bad person you" opines

great points! also, why should the player do Anet's research for them? laziness on their part IMO

You both might be right.
Neverthought to screenshot, will do next time if there is one.

Just curious... why did you respond to this?
Apple's forum?
Which one?
Are you going to suggest buying a pc next?
This isn't about whether pcs are better than Apple despite any attempts to guide the conversation there.
It's about ArenaNet choosing not to support a platform going forward period.
-
Yes I could use Bluestacks or some other windows emulator.
But that seems counter-productive.
It's like how bad do you want to play, customer?
Not my idea of customer service/player support but I have a few decades of life before the internet & video games.
Thanks for the tips.

I've been playing for almost 6 years.
I can continue possibly if I go through Nvidia meaning I can play one hour a day for free or I can pay another amount to buy a membership.
Not sure what I will be doing.
You can blame Apple & there might me some truth to it but that's between the businesses.
Where does it leave the player?

Another way to earn Mastery fulfillment would be most welcome by me.
To me, Mastery points are part of Map's currency for want of a better term.
Similar issues have been solved by offering map currency swaps .
Might be a direction to go which solves the "pay to win/play" argument

Dear Santa Charr, I am sorry that Charr was the last race to become a toon for me but I hafta say they won me over with their "wahoo's" off the mounts sometimes. Thanks for your spirit!!

There are already Necro mechanics for Marks
A good farmer would be swapping pea & carrot crops to give the soil a break
Marks could be cross specializations/classes with a bit of thought/reworking
That would open up tons more gameplay & balancing fun but we are brainstorming here for the heckuvit
The only limit is your imagination
-
who says the peas can't touch the carrots?
-
Greetings
I've been thinking about turning up the torment for Wintersday on my Necro with runes & sigils.
I was looking at Marks (from the staff) & wondered if there was ever anythought to give Shades the same "classification" mechanics wise.
Might open up some more gameplay avenues? I'm still a noob after many years

> No one cares about being popular here. Honestly if getting the answer literally handed to you in video form can't help you, then I'm not sure what will. You have not articulated in any fashion why the strategies provided by people in this thread are not useful. We are not here to agree with you. You presented an idea that is clearly way below the status quo for difficulty and are receiving the well expected disagreement.
no one eh? you speak for everyone it seems
I gave up for the most part after the first couple of responses that amounted to get good
I can't understand things for you in the same way as you can't play the game for me?

All keys & single use items for chest like shovels for silverwastes or treasure maps regardless of the character. All Living World season tomes so shared inventory spaces were actually useful even though they might not be as profitable.
