What about the announcement was unclear? GW2 Mac Client uses a specific kernel to work. Apple no longer uses that kernel and is removing it from current systems. Therefore GW2 Mac client doesn't work. So they have the choice: rebuild it from scratch or abandon it. They chose not to rebuild it. The fact that you can easily mod it back to functioning is irrelevant and, quite frankly, probably why they chose not to bother.

Actually, I rather like this idea. As a sort-of cross between Nuhoch Wallows and the Jackal's Sand Warp, it could operate as specific point-to-point transport, as well as opening up access to completely new areas (teleporting to a different "underground" map rather than a section of the current one.) I would propose it be an Advanced Ability (like the Skimmer's Dive) or Advanced Mastery (like the Griffon's Aerial Prowess) rather than a new mount, but either way works.

ANet does not set price tags on the Trading Post. Just because something is _listed_ at 10k gp doesn't necessarily mean it's _worth_ 10k gp. Some people use the Trading Post as a sort-of "free" storage space, since fees are refunded if the unsold item is delisted.

There are "lesser" versions of most basic Heavy Armor skins available as white drops. Scale Mail with missing and crooked plates; chainmail with irregular and bent links, etc. They have different names, but chances are you've already gotten them.

You'd rather reduce exploration, questing, and gameplay activity to mindless XP grinding instead of the other way around? and _pay them for the privilege_? I would be very interested in what exactly you consider to be a "game", because I think there is some serious disconnect here... perhaps a language barrier...
