I played another game for Many years in which Deathknight is one of the classes and I can tell you that in that game Deathknights are Very well designed and implemented.

Beyond compare to Gw2's Revenant.

It's not classy to call them Professions.

I used to play an mmorpg where a 10-15% difference between the top and bottom specs was the norm.

Yes, S/P power build works okay.

I'm half way through the campaign after first doing in on condi firebrand.

With Thief I've tried power builds with Rifle, S/P, P/P and so on, and condi builds with D/D and P/D.

So far the one that works best for me is D/D... but I'm not seeing a noticeable 'improvement' since HoT.

I'll keep testing and reading what better players think and do :)

For PvP possibly, but I'm not sure now good P/D can be in PvE.

Is there motivation to play DE if not for Rifle?

The main reason I don't (can't) play Mesmer, not only Mirage is the pink theme and the butterflies.

PvE as in raids?

Outside of raids why would one min-max damage? Why not group utility or personal survability?

I'm not criticizing, just trying to understand this game. Personally I would choose the best option for survability, because I'm bad...

I won't be at max level when PoF lands, I barely started and I don't have much time to play.

For now, leveling is slow and tedious.

If the mount is only in PoF I guess I will make use of everything else: food, Retreat, Symbol of swiftness and one I get to 60 I'll get the runes of the traveler (I'll switch armors every... 5 levels? not sure if it's worth the money).

will Soulbeast always stay in that stance or will he swap in and out?

Thanks, I see they have a bit of condi duration. In regards to Balthazar runes I would lose 100 condi dmg and 10% duration, but gain move speed and a bit of stats.

Is there any 'easy' way for permanent swiftness?

When I say PvE I mean world exploration, dungeons and not-high Fractals.
