I was playing on my Revenant Herald with two exotic Berserker's Iron Sword of Earth with Superior Sigil of Earth on both (because I bought them off the TP and didn't bother to change the sigils) and my Exotic Berserker's Lightward's Battlehammer of Accuracy with a Superior Sigil of Accuracy and a Superior Sigil of Force (because that's the hammer I have for when I run hammer on my Herald, so I didn't waste gold buying another exotic hammer). I waited until the airship gangway was down and I stepped onto the top of the pyramid to start the timer and I stopped the timer when the city gates fully opened and Kasmeer walked out. I did not use any mounts or mount skills until they would have been unlocked in the story, and even then only used raptor and long jump. I died 4 times - 3 against the stupid dogs - and was downed one additional time. I did not camp hammer, but switched back and forth as appropriate and necessary. Also, I did not use my glider to get off the pyramid faster, but I did use Facet of Elements for the running speed boost. > > So, was this your first try? No? yeah, it wasn't. Get one of your friends who desn't play GW2 to do it with any equipment and then make another post to compare properly. This post inspired me to do it last night to finally unlock the Raptor...the dogs were annoying/frustrating but I managed to clear it in 25 minutes. I consider myself to be a very clumsy/low tier player due to my poor reaction times etc.
  2. I think some people's main reason for not using the in game LFG for some areas of GW2 would be the lack of integrated voice chat (which definitely is a bummer).
  3. Glad to hear about how long that first story mission is. I'm still grinding HoT content but have been looking forward to cracking into PoF to obtain the Raptor....lol a 1 hour mission will be bleh - that's more or less my playtime for 1 session.

Data is viewable on your end and obviously the source end, but in between they will only be able to judge the size of the data. I find it odd that your ISP would throttle traffic based on where it's from rather than the amount of traffic, sounds wonky but not out of the realm of possibility. It's common knowledge that some IPSs that offer "unlimited" data will throttle people that they deem to be "heavy users"....but I don't think the data consumed by GW2 in itself would make anyone considered a heavy user.
  5. I personally like the Asura....they look great in light armour (I main Necro - looks great in Necro robes!) and love the look of my character.

I think my fire and ice (Frostfang /Incinerator) combo looks better for my character than swinging a huge greatsword like Twilight (even though I think that sword has some of the best animation). > Twilight looks so beautiful....I'm very far from grinding for a legendary, but that's the weapon I'd grind for! -- As long as you're using your chosen specialization to its potential, I think Necro is very strong in general PvE. I don't necessarily hit the right combos/attack chains, but as I get more familiar with my character, I'm finding myself tackling tough situations with greater and greater ease.
  7. I'll speak from a general perspective in this post - this is not talking about GW2 specifically: Realistically with any game, there's typically a team to deal with existing content and a team to deal with yet-to-be-released content. The trouble with stuff that's broken, not working as intended or not working the way a player would like is fixing or tweaking it in a way that doesn't cause a million other problems in the process. There's also the issue that from a dev perspective, fixing stuff tends to be pretty frustrating, boring, and above all unfulfilling. That doesn't mean it shouldn't get done, but it does usually lead to what gets fixed being cherry picked.....the stuff that's easier to fix, the interesting/fun challenge, etc etc - on top of stuff that's seen as an "urgent issue", obviously. It's really not more complex than that in my opinion. There'll always be people making random excuses like "They're busy working on new content" (even though that kind of stuff has a dedicated team) or "They know what's important and are dealing with stuff in the order that needs to be done" (which can be true in a way....but it's usually more about addressing stuff that you can either get out of the way with less effort or doesn't make you want to quit your job)...and there'll be people on the opposite end of the spectrum thinking absolutely nothing gets done (which is why you ask for transparency, of course). Next time you look at a particular bug you hate, instead of thinking it's getting ignored, picture a guy that has set aside time for the last x amount of weeks trying to sort it out for you but every fix just causes 1000 worse bugs in that 1 bug's place.

Starting to get a little overwhelmed myself. Mobs hit like a truck out there as well. Ha yep. I kind of regret not starting in on PoF first (I don't consider myself a skilled player by any means) as Verdant Brink definitely took awhile to get used to and the mobs can be very unforgiving. Gliding is awesome though once you have it.
  9. I don't understand the point of partying up with someone if you're not going to be playing with them directly. Why should someone benefit from an arrangement like that? I'm baffled.
  10. > @"Joote.4081" said: > Flipping heck you could run GW2 on a calculator. I was thinking something similar (OK not that far)....GW2 is pretty low spec and I don't see the next expansion as something that will make those requirements jump dramatically. You could say that Path of Fire came out in 2017, which is 4 years ago, but even then the specs required for that expansion aren't what I'd consider a leap from base game and HoT (which share the same minimum reqs). The only benefits I see in waiting are being able to watch prices (although they may not work in your favour, with how GPU demand has been) and waiting for new monitors to drop/those releases hopefully affecting prices of monitors currently on the market. The main thing for me would basically be the monitor thing, if I decided to hold off for any reason.....there have been quite a few developments in that area in the last ~6-8mo and the ripple effect is yet to be really felt - especially because a lot of touted releases have not fully dropped yet.
  11. I'd second the Necro recommendation, although I am biased (as I main Necro). Since you're sticking to core for now, you won't have to think about whether or not you should wear a Greatsword (that's only for Reaper) - so you'll definitely get your 'at range' box ticked!

It is not hard to get the basics down and follow the rest in a zerg or squad. Keep open your map chat channel and you will also see some comments, for what is happening, if needed. Don't be afraid to ask question before a meta starts on a map. > > https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page > Here is a list from AyinMaiden: https://www.ayinmaiden.com/heartofthorns > > Dulfy is another one, but she stopped playing GW2 after PoF (or for around one year ago according to reddit comments). > There are several other streamer which go through step by step content in GW2 on YouTube, so you shouldn't have a hard to time find out how things work. For sure. I don't mean to make it sound like I just stand there and don't try to figure out what's going on (ahead of time if I'm not just dropped into the middle of it) - more saying if I perform poorly, I'm trying but it's probably my first time doing that meta ٩◔‿◔۶
  13. I sell all my coins so I'm thrilled with the price ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ without it being the way it is, my gold per month would be almost non existent XD
  14. I'm a noob at expansion content so unless it's something straight forward, it's something I need to get the hang of c:
  15. I voted PoF difficulty, although I have not yet experienced it (I've only ventured into HoT maps at this stage). Reason being that people say it is between core and HoT. I am not the most elite/capable player and if I'm not careful when walking around HoT areas, I tend to get my pants handed to me immediately. I am really hoping the new open world areas do not damage you on the same level.
