Also if I do renegade then would bow/staff be better or bow/sword & sword

Eventually I would do both but I wanted to know which to do first

Im fairly new to revenant and I play in groups and do things like bounties and I was leaning towards herald but I want the shortbow so I'm very confused at this point ? . I don't know which is better for me because I play solo and in groups. Like I said I'm very confused
