But since yesterday and for absolutely no reason, I get a lot of issues (can't login, infinite loading, can connect but get disconnected after few minutes, ...). It's unplayable. I did a complete troubleshooting and tried absolutely everything I could find in Support section, Google, forums etc. The issue is not coming from my side, every single other online game works fine, I have a ping of 12 ms, 0 packet loss, a really good connection from my ISP, my computer is wired to the router etc. It makes me wonder why I came back on this game, I want to quit already ...

I'm in the exact same situation.

  2. The FPS issues are definitely due to the particle effects introduced in the two major expansions and the rework of Lion's Arch.

Original Guild Wars 2 content runs well enough. It looks like optimisation went right out the door in later years, and this is obviously something that can't be easily fixed, unless the game is majorly reworked, which won't happen. I guess it's time for Guild Wars 3 in a year or two.

I'm with you on this one. After about a month of lag and extreme fps drops on two separate systems (one with an i7 4790K + 16GB DDR3 + GTX 1080, another with an i5 7600K + 16GB DDR4 + GTX 1070) I'm calling it quits. I'll check in periodically to see if there's any improvements, but as far as I'm concerned GW has gone the way of the unoptimized lootbox game.

End of an era for me: **2005 - 2017**

  4. I’m getting pretty low framerate (~35-45fps) since the last patch, especially in PoF and LA with Halloween decorations. Going to first person mode seems to help a little bit. Most older areas are unaffected, including Domain of the Mad King. All my settings are on High, with FXAA and Native sampling @1080p.

I recently upgraded from a GTX 970 to a GTX 1080 (i7 4790K, 16GB), so I’m trying to figure put whether or not it’s related, or if Anet has messed up with their optimisation somewhere.

All my other games seem to be running fine and a full reinstall + deleting local.dat and temp folder didn’t help at all.

  5. It's going to be:

    a) Menzies, as you described

    b) Actually Balthazar, but he got driven insane somehow by the dragons and will be restored to his former self by the end of PooFers

    or

    c) The last time I bought a Guild Wars product, if they decide to destroy the lore which exists since 2005
