oceanic/asian time vs NA time certainly highlights the issue. But I played during NA time before and a particular season 3 map was pretty dead. There were people on it but we barely completed the meta and only finished 1 of the 2 bosses. I think the real issue is the many maps spreading population out too thinly. This happens also for NA time just less obviously. I havent logged in for several weeks because "dead game" comes to mind whenever i wanted to. I might log in later for a nice scenic run but thats all i can do ingame rofl.

Of course there's huge variations in what dragons look like, but I doubt you could show a skyscale to anyone who doesn't play GW2, ask them what it is and get any answer except dragon. If I drew a dragon it would have a longer face and probably not forward facing horns, but those are fairly minor details.

It depends which part of the skyscale do I show to people who don't play GW2. If I showed only the head, neck and the shoulders, maybe some people may not know what it is. But yes, if I showed the rest of its body then nobody has a doubt they are looking at a dragon.

    >

    > Not all dragons look like European dragons, but european style dragons are the most popular which is sad. Theres -tons- of artwork out there of dragons that dont have that facial structure.. Then again How to Dragon is probably the most popular dragon themed movie at the moment and it is loaded down with dragons that dont have the structure at all include Nightfury. To be honest if you showed me just the head neck and shoulders of anything reptilian id either assume its a dragon -or- a Lizan, its just a safe guess.

I don't think its a geographical thing. google Chinese dragons, American dragons ( I think Game of thrones is American?), whichever dragons you can google and they all have long faces.

  4. My issue is the locking of collections behind dead events, in particular champion bosses or legendary bosses. These cannot be solo'ed now because when player inevitably dies due to mechanics, the boss resets its health. The solution is to review these collections and place them behind something else that can be worked on and I dont think dailies is a solution. Either this or make bosses solo-able.

  5. Hello, after playing for a pretty long time, some ppl do get tired of certain skill sounds. Rather than asking them to mute these sounds, how about putting alternative skill sounds as rewards? Could be gemshop or ingame achievements the gemshop haters. And although some people currently refers to only me, maybe there are more out there.

Update: Just got Jade Core, did it with 3 very competent passer-bys, what a godsend! I won't change my opinion about items being locked behind events which nobody does.

  9. > @"Randulf.7614" said:

    > I’m ok with the gating, but I think they need to be more flexible in reviewing scaling of older events rather leaving them to dry up as the World expands

Just waited a full hour for jade to spawn and it failed again because not enough people. I specced myself to be able to tank and hold the champ long enough for a small number of people to turn up. I mean you can suggest dailies as a possible solution but how often is this rotation and even if there were a daily, what makes you think people would be willing to help out with such a difficult event? Even after Jade dies, I read elsewhere it is a rng drop. Actually I know of other players who left the game because of items locked behind dead events but I post about this and they just left. lol. I suppose the solution now is to do season 4 trinket since it is alive. Why not delete aurora then? why make people go through such an intense collection only to be stopped by a stupid dead event.

you can suggest the most remote solution, i.e. wait a year to save up enough money from dailies to buy a legendary, yea that is possible. Everything is possible right lol. I voted your comment as helpful btw, so please don't think I am dismissing your solution. I just don't think waiting for dailies then waiting for jade to be up and hoping that people who turned up for dailies will also do jade and that the core will drop on that day of the daily is a solution.

    > It’s not impossible, but the change to daily’s has emptied the ls3 maps. You will need to try on the day bloodstone fens daily is up and you shouldn’t t have an issue (I did it just before winters day )

Thank you for the helpful post. I will wait till the daily, hope it doesnt take the entire duration of wintersday. But the point is items gated behind dead events just makes the game seem more dead. Just like lfg. I hardly see any activity.

  11. Jade Core was hard to get even when season 3 released over a year ago. It is impossible to do now since after the release of season 4 maps, bloodstone fen is close to empty with only a handful of players. I have tagged up and LFG'ed but each time, we do not have enough people to take down the champion jade construct. I guess Aurora is like a raid in OW now since I have to recruit enough people willing to fight for me on something they don't need?

I dont know why you guys are so heated over this half year romance. Its all a preference. Skyscale is like a luxury Mercedes Benz while griffon is the Ferrari. There are areas in the map that griffon cant reach but skyscale can, although you could probably bunny up in those cases. So I dont think one is supreme over the other.

    >

    > Read your own comment again. How many "OW bosses and living story bosses" are there in chalice of tears? If you want to talk about non-combat difficulty, we can do that. But when you clearly mention bosses and meta events, and then pull up an example that isn't even a fight, it doesn't really give you that "gotcha" moment you seem to be looking for.

    >

    > For what it's worth, I actually enjoy the difficult jumping puzzles, and would say that chalice of tears is reasonably difficult without a guide (probably not worth throwing out a "do this then we talk", but to each their own) . And while there are a few other jumping puzzles (along with SAB trib mode) that I would also consider somewhat challenging, OW is talked about as being braindead because of the parts of it see the most activity. If an open world set of legendary armor featured tasks on the level of finishing those puzzles without a mesmer to port you through it, then maybe something could work. But then again, if raids just boil down to "pressing skills at a big target", then I'm not really sure why there needs to be an OW set. OW is just pressing skills at even bigger targets, so it should be pretty easy to breeze through and pick up that armor right?

Why do I have to list everything in my first post which I posted while walking somewhere with my mobile phone and by not doing so, my later points are considered contradicting

If raids and OW are the same because of PVE category, pvp and wvw are the same because PVP category. 1 mode is vs AI and another mode vs players, so simple right

Lol i just completed the jump puzzle chalice of tears and immediately thought of this thread. Maybe complete that in your first try then we talk. Certainly tougher than pressing skills at a big target

  16. I dont consider raids the same as open world, in terms of playerbase, playstyle, focus and other stuff my brain is too lazy to think of on this Friday

I already have legendary armour, so I am not for nor against having legendary armour in OW. I just dont think they are the same at all.

And for all you people dissing OW, actually OW bosses and living story bosses have seen complaints in how difficult they are. So yea its not completely braindead nor easier than other modes. Map metas regularly fail outside of NA timezones.
