  1. The only time I have used compact is by accident. I cannot think of a reason why I would want to use it on purpose.

Depositing materials now takes significantly longer as you toggle rarity due to 8 years of habit, realise what you have done, re-toggle rarity and then carefully click the deposit all button making sure not to accidentally click compact.

  2. While annoying I can live with being burst down by a permastealth thief, only for them to use stealth to disengage if the burst fails.

My only real gripe with stealth is that they gave portals to a class that can permastealth in WvW. Hunting down a permastealth thief in a freshly flipped objective has always been annoying, but when they were given portals it became 10 times worse.

I know a lot of WvW players who got into it because they came for map completion and are still playing WvW now.

  4. There should be no open world PvP of any kind. Something that puts me off other games is the constant spam of duel challenges.

Weeklong WvW gimmick events are a pain in the *****. You get a small influx of players for a week who then leave again afterwards but WvW becomes almost unplayable for the regulars for that week.

Taking WvW out of map completion was the mistake on WvW recruitment. A lot of players came for map completion and continued to play WvW afterwards.

WvW issues come from population imbalance. Population imbalance comes from people hopping servers. Mass server hopping was an issue created by Anet in the first place a few years ago when they instituted a couple of "free transfer windows". With the current low gem cost of transfers to "low population" servers it encourages bandwaggonning to a linked server. There are plenty of easy fixes to discourage server hopping and alliances isn't one of them.

If it's just EU, then the server team in Germany would look into the problem. Do what we did last time, keep playing and don't worry about it, just don't buy anything from the Gem shop...unless people can't control themselves.

Easy enough for you to say but unless you know where you stand it is difficult to know what to do in game. I am unsure exactly what I have lost and to work it out will take some time. There are also questions that need answering such as "will I get back any of what was lost"? before I know what I am going to do now. "Keep playing" is really a bit of a daft suggestion at this time.

Easy solution - don't transfer server and you don't pay anything. Server hopping is the biggest cause of server imbalance in WvW which then harms the game mode.

I had a meta fail today because too many people were standing around "Bored under javi shield because no gate buff" instead of killing the spawning mobs. About three of us were trying to kill the mobs while the rest just stood around under the shield. The mobs destroyed the shield and the meta failed.

The other thing I noticed was that too many people don't seem to know and/or understand what 'cc is. Anet already have a dodge tutorial, perhaps they should add a 'cc tutorial as well and block people from entering high level maps until they have completed it?

    >

    > We should've been clearer with this patch note since "new abiltities" is pretty vague--so we wanted to give you some more information on them. These additions were focused on providing a clear incentive to participate in mechanics by punishing failure, as well as giving you reasons to engage with some of the previously arbitrary mechanics.

    >

    > The Falling Ice Orbs, for example, have a larger and more damaging attack that fires if no one catches the orb--so when you're performing the mechanic correctly, you're not seeing that punishment skill (way to go, being responsible!)

    >

    > Additionally, Jhavi's shield in the intermission phase now provides protection from the storm (which deals constant damage if you're outside it), and allows you to go out and attack adds - but that protection only lasts a short time once you leave the shield, so you have to balance grabbing the buff with going after incoming enemies, or pulling them into the shield and damaging them down.

    >

    > Finally, as some of you have experienced, we introduced a unique flavor mechanic to the fight when the group fails, to make it clearer that Drakkar's influence has won out in the struggle.

    >

    > With these changes, we specifically wanted players to feel punished for ignoring mechanics, while still allowing for a few people to be the "heroes" of the group and save their allies from certain death. Since this is an open world encounter, it's important to encourage coordination while maintaining accessibility, especially as we get further into this content's life span and more diverse player groups of varying skill levels tackle it.

The changes to the fight have made it even more of a blob-fest. Without a blob the odds are you will now fail.

The "unique flavour mechanic" is probably the worst idea you have ever implemented. There are already people talking about forming squads on maps to deliberately screw with the Drakkar event to deliberately make it fail and make the "unique flavour mechanic" happen. The "unique flavour mechanic" encourages trolling and is anti-social.

You seriously need to consider rolling this event back and rethinking your changes.

I've been in failed Drakkar metas. There was no "PvP mode" afterwards. Other players were not targetable. A few people stood around a bit miffed and annoyed at the fail, but people just drifted away as normal.

  10. Before the patch did it with a group of 30ish people fine. Since the patch tried twice with similar size groups both were fails, didn't even reach the last champ. Wouldn't be so bad if the meta wasn't so long.

The meta is now a blobfest. I thought Anet were trying to get away from that sort of thing?

    > What are you talking about? they didn't delete your WvW build, it was saved in the 3rd template slot.

That may not be true. I have 16 characters, only 5 of those ended up with their WvW builds in slot 3. For example my Mirage had the correct PvE build in slot1, and correct PvP build in slot2 but it had a vanilla Mesmer build in slot 3 which I was not familiar with. This is quite annoying as I had been tweaking my mirage WvW build fairly recently and can't remember all of the changes I made. Most of the others that lost their WvW builds I am not quite so annoyed about as I was planning on updating them anyway. Fortunately the toon I currently use most in WvW did get to keep the correct WvW build in slot 3, I just need to remember that I need to manually switch builds every time I enter WvW now.

  13. It appears from the multitude of comments that those who used the 3rd party ARC template add-on really liked it and it worked better than this system that has just been patched into the client.

Therefore based upon this it seems that the simplest solution to the template issue would be:

    1) Roll back/undo the templates to the original system with one automatic selected by game mode build for each game mode.

    And

    2) Officially recognise & recommend the 3rd party template client so those who want templates can have them while those that don't want templates can ignore them.

Apart from not getting a few gem store sales seems like a win for everyone?

I'd just like to point out that you do not speak for all of "we" or all of "the community". I've been playing since launch and never needed or wanted this and judging by a lot of other people commenting on various threads and forums I am not alone.

No offense but please do not claim to speak for me when you do not.

    Thanks.
