  1. When guild halls were first granted, we could teleport/waypoint to them upon death from practically anywhere (except instances), repair, take a breath, recover supplies, then continue where we left off. Now we have to WP back to wherever is nearest, and crawl back to where we were.

With the crazy cost of guild halls in time and resources, at least let us do this from Open World, if nowhere else.

Ideally, would be great from anywhere else, as well.

    Do you agree?

  2. In Chinese and Korean historical dramas, it is shown how there is such a thing as a 'complaint drum' guarded outside the seat of authority of any given city or town.

If this thread was it, I'd have beaten it open.

The guards would have dragged me away, and I would have been beaten bloody by the authorities, eyes still burning as I look them all right back in theirs.

You may have done what you will, but there will be a way.

    There _always_ is a way.

  3.

    You've left me

    Aghast, Little One.

    Agape, winded, unable.

    Ahai, tiny blue fighter.

    Against that monstrosity of fear,

    Giant

    Against the fear itself.

    NO, little one.

NO, No, a thousand thousand deaths but not yours, not so.

    May the Jade Sea break,

    May the skies rip,

May the legions who died in your name rise,

May the hours of my tired eyes and distorted wrist reach your unmakers,

May your (mis)writers' hands' bones weep with pain,

Their joints swell, and may they limp

    As they made me

    And our thousands,

    Walk away from you,

    Your gift of hope,

    Your world.

    You.

I have cried again, now, and it rattled my ribcage.

Well done, ye craven eaters and drinkers of others' misery. May your five senses fail you before you witness your greatest creation.

You've awakened the Morrígan in me.

No mercy, no ruth, for you.

  4. Technical: My Thief is running far too slowly as compared to other parts of the game. Thief, mind you.

    Tale:

When I had first begun my travels here years ago, I had pored over the map, and wondered whether we will get to see all the areas that are still names, or simply misted over. I had wished to see Cantha, and Deldrimor.

It was my reason for buying the GW1 series. Also, to see 'Glorious Orr!' as my guildie puts it, intact.

Now, we finally get to see Deldrimor!

Beautiful, marred by the Crystal Dragon, but beautiful.

    The story?

Well done, minus a few unnecessarily light conversation in the third quarter, but..

All the rush and heartbreak for so long..

I stopped for a second, and my body shook out a sob, then another, till tears broke.

For the first time, I have felt like I want to stop playing. Give up. Go away.

    Stop playing story.

That much audience immersion get your writers off?

Yes, it was that well written but it felt like _all we have done over the last five years_ has come to _nothing_.

Losing our mentors of the Pact was bad enough, losing the Marshal was even worse, but losing the flagbearer of the revolution is like killing off Katniss in book 3 of _The Hunger Games_, and even that isn't pretty.

And Aurene is LOVEABLE. She is ..ours. If this is some ill-begotten Game of Thrones pre-release hype, then deflate it, please.

It was like a rough stone machete that snapped the final cord that ties me to Tyria and her fate.

Now, I am more than ready to lose myself in the grit and salt of The Mists.

"Yup, Living World is dead, WvW, here I come!"

At least, there, the adventure continues, and the only thing taking away our heroes is life.

    That precious egg, shining.

Every nation who died in the pursuit of its preservation.

    Glint's Legacy

Kormir will sprout her eyes back and Balthazar hug Jormag to a fiery death if they knew.

    Give me back my baby.

    Give us back our Aurene.

Tyria has died the day she died.

    I pity Kralkatorrik, no less.

    The terrified fool..

    Give us back the child!

    We need her!

Whatever nihilism your writers follow in their own mind is not my concern.

I come here to get away from our own breaking world.

Leave some beauty intact, here in Tyria, at least!

    _Please_

You have no right to take away the little one.

Bring her back, whatever way or form you please!

No, not as you please. As she were, in her full kindness and purity.

Darling, my baby. OUR baby. Everyone's hero! How _**could**_ you?

In a way, I am relieved.

Now I can go play all those other games without guilt, or wondering what will happen to or in Tyria.

  5. Come to think of it, if Anet could come up with a Traceroute information pooling interface where traceroutes are input by players willing to do this, then maybe we can map the world connectivity of Anet at peak and off-peak times. Statistics, yes, but may aid in diagnostics as well.

Edit: The connection bandwidth required for this is yet another burden. Urgh.

At least make an ongoing forum post for it? What is the best solution to tabulate the input data?

I used to blame this on me running a Wireless 4g/LTE connection how ever now that I'm back on Cable Internet at 200 download speeds it's just a server bottleneck, some are better than others, just be glad you fell in love with GW2s Open World instead.

I see. Hmm. So there is no point in buying an internet upgrade.

    Machine upgrade, then, when possible.

ESO is impossible to run for me. Could only download it when BDO hit the market, and the first episode was like a black-and-white horror movie.

BDO also took a lot of pressure off of WvW when it launched :D

Will work on what I can, on my end.

Submitting ticket since public complaints are a _faux pas_, apparently.

Need to sort out basic connectivity issues before Euromerge and Amerimerge hit the fan.

Raw reaction. Argh as it came out. Go elsewhere on the forums to read something you like instead of sticking to what you don't.

    Thank the Six.

Minimised system graphics, minimised game graphics, am going around the most beautiful game I have seen in a pixellated blur and still crash.

The rest: fine, I will take myself to TS but my soul medicine is a good machine.

    > >

    > > Well put! It's not rare to be pointed to as the be-all and end-all of latency problems. We have been involved in a lengthy discussion with one player who has accused us of reaching out and strangling their bandwidth -- their personal bandwidth -- because certainly their lag programs are not on their end! And yet, data shows and investigation *proves* that they have problems on their end -- ISP, system, router, modem, whatever -- and that beyond their home, everything is working just fine. Unfortunately, they won't be convinced, even with careful and detailed explanations.

    > Is it a feature that in WvW I can feel a zerg is near before I see it because of the insane stuttering? It does help me avoid getting run over, but I have not followed a pugmander since I got back to the game for this very reason.

A frequent commentary of mine during prime time WvW is,

"I am lagging. If I am lagging, there are enemies. _Many_ enemies."

way before the orange crossed swords ever show up on the map.

    I usually get ignored.

Then we come across the enemy zerg, and the screen and game freeze and I crash out.

    It's become a prophecy.

Should have my Norn go around WvW in Kodan gear with Shaman stats for RP reasons.

    > I have a 950 Mbps connection and my connection to the game servers is excellent. I have no bandwidth issues at all. When a large number of players are on the screen all using skills like you would see on a champ bounty or a world boss, my game will stutter. At times it almost looks like single frames. I know what the issue is, it's my computer. I need a better video card and more memory which I can't do until I upgrade the MB. It would be easy to blame anet because my computer "works fine for everything else" but in fact I know that it is my computer because I see the same issue on locally played games that are "high end". Now if I was playing on a brand new gaming computer with current gaming video card with the connection and bandwidth I have, then I would say it's the game but as it is I know it's on my end and that's the first step to getting it resolved.

Wow. Looks like I've got to grind the dollars if I want out of crashes. All right. About time I started getting a good machine.

The same people you and the rest of us pay for the permission to access this game we are all playing, and in order for them to afford to set up and maintain it, and this forum we are posting in among many other things.

I wish I was rich enough to afford Anet. Direct access to the game, 24/7.

    *sigh*

  13. > As a WvW player I stopped reading here. It's obvious that you don't fight other players at all. WvW players need damage to be reduced on an unprecedented scale.

I don't. I pick daisies while everyone bleeds it out on the field.

I make sure our fighters stay alive.

Healing and stability are my bread and butter. If they nerf healing, I don't know how to respond to this. Except maybe sense a tepid satisfaction that the damage nerf thus counterbalances the heal nerf.

    >People are being one-shotted left, right and centre.

Takes me five shots to go down, and that is in a sea of AoEs and CC with 10 people carpeting me. Unless you are talking about roaming fights in glassy builds, which I have not touched in a while. Please Elaborate.

Again, I go back to my original point:

Anet touts new expansions with a new elite spec each xpac. Everyone jumps on the OP bandwagon till it gets axed by demands of fair play.

    Fine.

Balance, counterbalance, nerf because necessary, all fine.

**_Just don't take our money for it if it is not going to last._**

Let them find another reason to get paid.

Otherwise this is just an eternal gear grind, with a cycle of 5-6 months per craze.

    What do we do now?

  14. > @"ScottBroChill.3254" said:

    > I agree. I feel like anet is really trying to appeal to those of us who play rit in GW1, at first with engi turrets and guardian spirit weapons, and now with kalla and her spirits, but it isn't the same or satisfying. People miss the theme, they don't just want little bits and parts from it. bring it backkkkkk

Now I understand why they are so diligently trying to upgrade those skills that I never use. Hmm.

I have never managed to finish GW1, nor try Ritualist. Now I will. Feels a bit like a Necro with a Guardian attitude.

  15. Dear ArenaNet,

    Thank you for beautiful Tyria.

To enjoy beautiful Tyria at maximum speed and capacity, I suggest you take a fixed percentage _**of every penny that goes in, from gems to xpac purchases**_ towards maintaining 'carrying' capacity for your _**servers**_.

    Scale?

At the level where six 50-man zergs (this never happens, there are usually 2, max 3 in any given map at any given time) in full glowy glossy armour (not a requisite for fights, but to make things extreme) use their elite skills all at once without lagging, regardless of their local conditions.

At the level where you can have 2-3 50-man zergs on any given map in Tyria doing whatever it is they want.

Leave no room for connection complaints by using what we give you is what I am saying.

Especially since you are considering the Euromerger and Amerimerger for World vs. World.

    Hugs.

  16. Change is better than no change, and with all the skills and their requisite calculation and programming, I still say thank you, Team ArenaNet.

I sincerely wish you make this one work, because if this will be the pattern, then I will break the cycle by not participating in it.

But, here's the thing: if everyone is _equal_, then nobody wins. 'Equal' and 'balanced' are two different things entirely.

Unless it is the player that is playing, and not his build.

This is the only justification for a nerf: to bring the player ahead of the mechanism.

The question that remains is the economic sustainability of this situation: how are you going to convince the Accounting Department that a game which offers balanced playability from free-to-play till PoF max stats will still sell? Why should I, as a player, pay for what I can get for free?

Perhaps the balance itself, if attained, will be the attraction factor.

What would _**really**_ make this game sexy is strong, fast servers. Yum. I'd pay for seamless coding and connection where a 50-man zerg can rush into another at full graphics and not hiccup despite all their skills going off at once.
