  1. As the title says, I need any recommendation what are the best gear stats I should run in Open World as HB? This has probably been asked before, but I am not going for a build like a damage dealer does. I am thinking of mixing some stats for my trinkets as HB. I know I can run anything, but it would be nice to have some damage without taking too long to kill a boss or mobs in Open World. I have harrier stats for both weapons and armor for some damage, but I am still undecided what stats to choose for my trinkets to run as HB in fracs: minstrel or magi? I have run zerker stats for so long in other professions and want to try running as support, so magi is better for fracs? I've heard that toughness can draw aggro in some cases in raids (I joined a raid training run once, so I'm not knowledgeable about it lol), and preferably, things that I can use in both without changing too much. However, does the toughness stat in minstrel draws aggro as well in fracs?

    Thanks!

    > Ahh, wish you posted it earlier I guess. I'm down for helping people do collections but LFG is not a great place to find people who want to do anything other than dailies. I'm on EU and completed the 4th Astralaria collection recently so most of it is still fresh in my mind - I ended up getting most of them just doing dailies and solo'ed a few of them when I didn't want to wait for them to cycle into the daily rotation.

I am on NA. I have noticed that as well and people do dailies or recs than some extra fracs. I am working on Astralaria for now and holding off Ad Infinitum. It seems that it is harder to find people who are doing T3 CMs imo. I see them posted in T4 instead of T3 iirc. T4 is more populated when it comes to T3, so I kind of understand. I haven't checked the collection for the rest of Ad Infinitum collection.

I am taking my time for the last collection and I apologize but thank you for reading.

  3. @"Wolfb.7025" I don't mind helping new players. I sometimes drop by in T1 to give pointers to people new in certain fractals like in sirens reef. I specifically sometimes add in my description that I need it for Legendary and I do not need dailies since I have done them already.

I do fractals on a daily basis, so I am aware of the rotation. Sometimes I just want continue working on the collection when I have everything done except for the ones with fractals in them.

I apologize but thank you for reading my rant. That is out of the way and working on the last collection.

    > I just named my LFG "Dusk 3 collection" and did all of the stuff with the one guy who joined in one or two hours or so

I think I am just unlucky. I never had this problem before. I usually put in my description like "T1 6 Astralaria Vol III Collection" or "Astralaria Leg Collection - Volcanic".

  5. I just wanna apologize if I post this in the wrong section.

I am working on Astralaria Volume III for the past day. I basically create a party under in T1 since I think it is not necessary to post it in the Master tier. At first, a random joins in the party and sees the achievement description. The guy is farming AP. However, the achievement quest for legendary is not unlocked unless it is bought from the NPC in Lions Arch. I specifically told him that and left. I didn't think of it too much so I created it again. Someone joins and leaves in a matter of seconds and I have to post it again. It happens again, so I create another party for the third time. A few minutes later, the party is full and I enter FotM. I didn't notice since I was doing something else when the party had ended up searching for any new members. This guy chose another fractal that I didn't specifically mention in my LFG description and changed it to the one I needed. He changed it up to the one he was trying to do. I spoke to him but I was greeted with dead silence and left. I am becoming a little more frustrated, so I thought of doing it later.

A few hours later, I made another LFG under T1 and someone effin' merged my party to people who were doing their dailies. I added in the description that I needed it for legendary collection and another person nuked my party. I am little salty at this point and started blocking people who were doing this. When I post it in T4, no one joins in, sigh. I am starting to hate quests that need any sort of party play. Idk whether these people are trolling or new since when I hover on their names they are offline. Some of them are new when I see that they have lower than 1k AP, but I cannot know whether they were trolling though it felt like one.

Anyways, I notice that any achievement collection for Sunrise legendary quickly fills up. Maybe not a lot of people are doing Astralaria collection. I basically chose to solo the thing although it took me longer than necessary, but I finally got the thing that I needed. Idk where to post it in LFG if I have to do another fractal quest for Astralaria's Vol IV, or am I doing something wrong?

I apologize I just wanna get this off my chest.

  6. Do hearts and have alts/toons to do them as well. Join metas when there is one. In Jahai Bluffs, do the rifts and iirc you can do them 5 times a day. I can't remember whether that'd be accoubt wide or not. Mine the nodes. Buy the other map currencies in Dragonfall.

If you do the Drakkar meta or other metas in Bjora Marches, the game seems to give quite a lot of them iirc.

  7. Hoho, I died from it on that day lol! I thought I was imagining things when I suddenly didn't see the fire on the ground, and died so quick because of it. However, it was there today. Probably some cat on titan broke it.

  8. Probably you got the rented ones. You can get the first one for free, which is the raptor by starting the PoF story, and the rest can be acquired without doing the story. However, you need some gold to get them iirc for Springer, Skimmer and Jackal.

Flying mounts like Griffon and Skyscale, you have to finish the story lines for PoF and LS4 respectively to unlock the achievement collections. Easiest to get would be the Griffon if you have the gold. Griffon can be done in a few hours. Skyscale can take weeks or a month because of time gated stuff.

Warclaw mount can only be acquired by playing WvW.

  9. I have finally started playing wvw, but I'm quite clueless what most ppl in zergs say or in team or map chat. I am mostly in EB and sometimes in other borderlands since I only follow the tag and I do not roam. I think it took me a day what smc is lol! However, I still don't know what most people say sometimes when they include some wvw slang terms. What most ppl in zerg that I always see in chat are f.k.(system seems to think I was cursing >< so I put periods instead), inc, bags, bomb, push, pull, etc. I guess bomb is throw any hard hitting skills I have when killing the lord. I'd appreciate if anyone could list some wvw terms that might be useful to understand what my comm or other ppl say in chat.

  10. The first group I had gave up after failing the 2nd time. A few days later, I joined a group in lfg and took us more than 3 times to get it. We had 2 druids, 1 mesmer, a reaper and sb. Some of my party members kept changing their toons and testing which was the best profession to do the last part. We, however, managed to defeat it with a 4-man team with a chrono, scourge, reaper and a druid iirc because someone dced. But true, this one helps for better understanding rhe mechanics and role of each party member.

  11. @"Teratus.2859" Thank you so much for a long and informative explanation in my post and listing the maps that I need to explore. I thought I had to capture every single objective in WvW and I was dreading for Obsidian Sanctum because of Jumping Puzzles. I remember it took me awhile to get the goggles in Dry Top after for having to redo it more than five times to get to the top lol! This cleared up my confusion about it :) Glad to know that I only need core Tyria maps for this. I had only watched a few videos which were old and during when the game was in its early days iirc.

I also agree with having bond of faith mastery and glad to have gotten it. It helped me get to places that my mounts couldn't reach. I forgot about mounts when I was typing this, and only a few areas that would dismount me or couldn't glide to some places.

Also, I've seen players that have their legendaries with 50 to 99 masteries in their belt and thought they probably bought it, Idk. Anyways thank you for the response,

  12. Please bear with me if my questions are all over the place since I'm still trying to learn and what I need to know about legendary crafting etc because I am a little bit confused. I am actually aiming for sunrise and I think I can't go for Eternity since I don't have a lot of time somewhere in sep. If I could hold it off from shelling out gold to get that gift. This is probably my long term goal and idk how long it'd take me.

*Which maps in Tyria that I need to complete? It says POF and HOT maps are not needed for completion unless I go for certain expansion's legendary or I might be reading wiki wrong about it?

*Are LW2 and LW3 maps needed for completion?

*Do I have to get WvW completion maps as well, such as going to EB, other 3 battlegrounds and Obsidian Sanctum or EotM? I know about Gift of Battle in order to get legendary.

*Jumping puzzles are needed? I am actually bad at those orz

*I've heard you can buy gift of exploration and how does this work? They give me the mats and craft it or there is another way of doing it since some are account bounds?

*How long does it take and how long did it take you to get your first or second legendary?

I am actually farming gold in Dragonfall because it is faster atm and working on progressing in fractals as well. Any help is appreciated.

    > There is no way to transfer for free without deleting all characters. Your only options if you wish to keep your characters are to pay for a transfer or ask your ticket be escalated in hope support will assist you due to your mistake.

Thank you! I will try to escalate it. If they still denied my request, I might have to pay gems to transfer back.

  14. I have already contacted the contact support and gave them the approximate time zone and day that I accidentally transferred to a server. I was only trying to guest, but I suddenly clicked transferred and exited me out of the game. At first, they said that they didn't see any server transfer on my account. After telling them the time and day, the person I have talked to said that I need to delete all of my toons without further assistance, change worlds and now I am six days locked out from transferring back. I was about to send them a screenshot, but I got that reply instead and I didn't reply back after. It was also a free transfer and I wasn't asking for them to get my gems back.

Anyways, is there any other way to transfer back without deleting all of my 5 toons? I have 3 level 80s and 2 are still on the works of leveling them up, so I refuse to delete them because of this and all of the ascended gears, trinkets, etc. Unfortunately, my bank is full and it is taking me days to level them up because I don't play pvp as much as I used to.

    > There is no way to unbind soulbound (or accountbound) gear. The transmutation trick only ever worked on equipment which became soulbound as a result of being transmuted and stopped working completely in 2014 when the Wardrobe was introduced and the entire transmutation system changed.

    >

    > But it should be fairly easy to get equivalent pieces for your ranger. The only things which affect how good equipment in GW2 is are the rarity and the level requirement, so all level 80 exotics are equally good and there's a lot of different places you could get them from. Common methods include crafting it, buying it from the Trading Post, buy it from the temples in Orr with karma, or from WvW vendors with badges of honour.

    >

    > As for the runes and sigils if you just want to put new ones in you can do that - just select the rune/sigil, select the gear piece and confirm it. You will lose the one that's in there currently but unless it's really valuable that's not worth worrying about. You can use an upgrade extractor to get it out first, but those are expensive, which is why it's only worth doing for valuable upgrades.

Thank you so much! I didn't know that they discontinued it. I think it was a bummer, though.

I have most of my exotics from TP and the others from pvp farming and dungeons. Also, I didn't know it was that easy to swap runes for my gears. The rune that I am planning to change doesn't benefit me much, so I don't need the upgrade extractor. Again, thanks so much!

  16. After doing some map completions and pvp dailies to get tomes of knowledge, I've finally got my ranger to 80. I have a few gears from my other toon that I would like to transfer, but they are soulbound to that toon. I even tried the bank method, but that didn't work. I saw some old videos on YT where they'd used transmutation crystals and splitter to transfer soulbound items. Does that method still work or not? Also, I have some exotic gears that I plan to change runes from Baelfire to the Runes of the Scholar. I do have 6 of the Scholar runes. Is there a way to swap it without being it an ascended or legendary gear? The same for the exotic weapons sigils since I am planning to change them as well. Thank you in advance.

  17. I started in mid 2017 and completly stopped playing during their Halloween event. I basically did a few masteries and I kinda mainly played PvP instead to get some ascended trinkets. I'm still basically a noob, even back then.

I have a few questions about the game. Also, if my questions don't fall here and it becomes a series of questions, I'd be moving them to an appropriate forum section. You can skip the next one and prolly start with the questions if this post is long.

Anyways, I had tried to play other MMO's as well, but I kept comparing them to gw2's experience. The players population doesn't seem to dwindle, but I've seen some new players in the game. Somes games looked like a ghost town and only the main

Cities were populated. Quests were boring and had to stop altogether. Although I'm not into story kind of guy and only here for the loot, I'd say gw2's story is far better and it does not make me cringe like some other games. Also, I have forgotten some terms, so I might be asking some of 'em, perhaps.

    Now, onto the questios:

    * How's HoT's meta events and the maps' statuses? Still good to farm Masteries? I need the mastery for poison first and the last tier or level for gliding, so I can move on to a different maps. I've heard there is a new meta event in PoF lately, but I haven't been into PoF's maps for so long. I'm basically starting again and want a new profession.

    * Is it possible to solo all of 'em to get masteries later on?

    * Also, I have tomes of knowledge and got some. Can they be used to fill my XP mastery bar or something? I can just level up new characters slowly and learn their playstyles, though. Leveling up masteries might take awhile since I don't have a lot of time for meta events or other timely events.

    * Like I've said previously, I want to start a new profession and preferably it is not a squishy class. I have daredevil unlocked for my theif, but I find it hard to play. I think I tried to go for Power Daredevil or going for DPS mainly. It was fun having it with a condi build in PvP; however, in dungeons, it was prone to dying, though. It could be that I am just bad. I saw Ranger's Power Soulbeast and DH. However, I find Soulbeast more appealing to me than DH. Is it good for dungeons and not squishy? Can it hold itself better for solo play and good CC or support for its boons? I plan to dive into fractals if I am going with this profession for pugs, but I want to know your thoughts and recommendations first. Lower tier fractals and not T4. T4 look impossible for me. How's the rotation for this build? Is it hard? Do you have other suggestions other than Soulbeast or DH where it can hold itself better mainly for solo play or with good survivability and sometimes with parties? Btw, I mainly go for DPS role while having a pretty solid health pool or good with surviving harder bosses.

    * Basically, if I am going with profession, I'm gonna farm exotic gears once again. Dungeons statuses?

    * How long does it take to farm materials for ascended gears or runes?

    * Good place to farm gold that is other than PvP?

    * How difficult is to get hands on the new mounts: the dragon or that beetle? I can't remember their name, I'm sorry.

I appreciate any help, recommendations and advice. I apologize if my questions looks to be all over the place, but I have tried to put them in bullet forms at least.

  18. I've been playing the game for a couple of weeks now. I'm still working on my ascended trinkets. So far, I have only two and I'm planning to craft ascended armors and weapons later on. However, I'm finding it hard to level my discipline faster. My leatherworker still sitting at 22 and others are even lower. The requirements are either 300-500 range for the weapon or armor that I wanted to craft. I'm not sure how long it'd take for me to get to that level. Need some friendly advice to level my discipline quicker. How long did it take you to get to 300 or even higher? At least, I have some idea of how long do I have to work on leveling up my crafting discipline. Thanks in advance.

  19. This might be a longer post, and please bear with me. I've been playing the game for almost 2 weeks. I managed to get one of my characters to 80. However, I have a problem staying alive longer in dungeons than when I go around in Tyria. I've skipped all the dungeons until my thief is 80. I joined a party the other day, and I was doing fine in Catacombs dungeon until we encountered the traps. I was the first person down in just a heartbeat. Even though with 13k to 14k health, I got wrecked so bad that I laughed but got disappointed after. Everyone in the party left because no one could pass that part of the dungeon. And, yeah, I don't have a glass cannon playstyle lol! I keep fumbling the wrong keys sometimes/always that leads me to die so easily. I also did unranked pvp a few days ago, and I got melted fast rangers and their pets, elementalist and engineers. I had fun but I hate dying a lot with only two shots, then I'm dead in a matter of seconds. Today I did the first story mission for pof to get the raptor mount, and I was having a problem taking down mobs fast. It took me more than a minute or even longer to take down the mobs with my thief. And then two pets of Balthazar appeared, I kept running and dodging but I kept going down and took me so long to kill them. I used 2 to stun enemies and blind them, then pressed 3 like a madman. I've seen other players that are doing find with their theifs, while me I keep going down fast. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. However, should I consider making a new character and then go back to my theif later?

How about the armor skins? I know some of them are bought from some karma merchants, like zerker's armor, but would it be good to have it for survivability? Any other armor suggestions for staying alive longer? I have a p/p build right now for pve. I know that not many players play this build, but I've since like the thief's profession using pistols when I play mmos.

And for the accessories, what kind should I get? If I ever get to join in parties, which is a little bit difficult for me right now. Also, where to get a level 80 weapons?

Although I've asked these questions, I'm thinking of dropping theif right now and come back when I get the feel of the game. Your advise would be helpful later on when I come to my theif, if I ever change my profession later. I'm thinking of getting a ranger with their aoe. I'm also considering playing as a necromancer or a mesmer. I'm not sure which one of them has stealth, although I think necromancer has it. Any good advise to take for other classes or profession for better survivability and being helpful to parties instead? Thank you in advance.
