Because people got shit loads of money on Steam through stuff like CS:GO boxes and they would be willing to spend that on GW2, at least that's my reason.

I would be able to spend so much money on GW2 if I could connect my steam with it.

So if there is a skin in the current one, I just have to forget about it because I don't want to gamble for it?

Why not just make the license so you can choose the mounts you want, and either refund the gems or the license things to the players who already bought them (i know you guys can do something like this) and just let them choose which ones they want too?

Me and a Guild Mate have a similar problem, for me it was: I opend the boxes on a level 79 and that did unlock the skins but did not give any progress towards the achievement, than i leveld the character to 80 and did my last one (the boots) and this gave me 1/6
