  1. You can play core guardian with hammer in pvp and wvw. Core guard build recommendation is gs but hammer together with glacial heart is also very good. The mighty blow spike is instant unlike whirling wrath on gs so if you wanna give it a try i think it's pretty good. If not pvp then maybe make a build around high power low precision high vit and toughness in wvw and go roam. I really wouldnt call it useless tho.

    >

    > Even the axe's burst on core warrior feels kind of slow. They should put the animation and cast time like the dagger's burst. This one feels smooth, fast and nice.

    > Well, come to think of it, I'd like every weapon's burst to have a smoother animation and cast time now.

Axe primal burst on berserker is affected by quickness. The guy doesnt have any boons up and only quickness he gets is from axe 4 for a few seconds

    > Maybe try to play warrior yourself and try the skill. The pulsing doesn’t last forever besides it doesn´t seem to help against certain cc. When I play warrior I get cc:d all the time during rampage. Sometimes for the whole duration. So I play mesmer instead cause it feels much stronger as a side noder.

Boon corrupt man. Bless that skill. Nothing beats the feeling of chain corrupting pulsing rampage stab into fear. Get feared for 10 years until they finally give up and leave rampage without having done anything useful.

  4. Okay so there are 4 variants of healbrand I like to use: 2 for raids and 2 for fractals. All builds are variation of virtues and radiance traitlines.

So first let's look at virtues builds.

    Raid

    Axe/Shield + Staff

    Honor 1-2-2

    Virtues 2-2-2

    Firebrand 2-1-3

Mantra of Solace, Mantra of Potence, Mantra of Lore, (*****) and "Feel My Wrath"

    Fractal

    Mace/Shield + Staff/Axe

    Honor 1-2-2

    Virtues 2-2-2

    Firebrand 2-2-3

Mantra of Solace, Mantra of Potence, (*****), "Hold The Line" and Mantra of Liberation

***** - situational slot for specific encounters. Bow of Truth (Raid Default) for large aoe pulsing heals, "Stand your ground" for on demand stability and retaliation, Wall of Reflection (take Master of Consecrations in Virtues when using this) for reflects and Merciful Intervention (Fractal Default) for mobility/burst heal.

As all virtues build you will provide passive healing through your f2's passive. Other major sources of healing will come from autoattacking if you're using mace, all your symbols, aegis that you apply on your group, your heal mantra (also provides aegis) and dodging into your group. Staff 2 Holy Strike also provides a good amount of burst healing.

The major difference between these two builds is the boon application. The raid build is the one you can find on snowcrows right now. It gives perma quickness fury and regen. Paired with Bow of truth and lower mantra recharge it provides better periodic healing and more consistant application of offensive boons like might and fury. The fractal build provides stab and retaliation on demand with good uptime along with protection and all the same boons depending on the weapon set you use. Stab and protection are important because fractal mobs hit harder and they have a lot of cc. Also you don't have to take mace but I recommend you do because if you're not using the raid build with bow of truth and lower mantra recharge you provide less periodic healing which you can make up for with mace autos.

    Radiance

Everything is the same except you ditch Virtues for Radiance and take Bane Signet in place of *****.

    Raid/Fractal

    Virtues -> Radiance 2-1-2

Radiance is an offensive traitline whereby taking it will result in less healing because you won't be sharing your f2 passive healing anymore, but more dps for your allies through Perfect Inscriptions. Perfect Inscriptions will share your signet passive effects with your allies for 10 seconds upon useand if you pair this with Bane Signet and Lesser Signet of Wrath from Wrath of Justice you'll be providing a major boost to your party's dps. Bane signet is also a strong cc ability so you can heavily damage breakbars with it which is pretty handy.

So when do you take Radiance over Virtues? Maybe depending on the encounter you might want to pick one over the other but at the end of the day it's entirely up to you. Regardless of your build you will still have access to your crazy tome abilities and they can provide the same utility that you would otherwise waste a skill slot on albiet with a higher cooldown.

Finally there isn't a fixed rotation for this build. Use Mantras off cooldown but ALWAYS leave 1 charge unless whatever you are fighting is almost dead. Use symbols off cooldown. Dodge into allies or use staff 2 for small burst heals. Use f2 tome skills for emergency heals but always use the 5th tome skill before you use any other skill for increased healing effectiveness. F3 for emergency stability, resistance and reflects. F1 for pulls and some extra cc.

    Hope this helped :)

  5. I clear t4 and cms daily and although i feel it didnt make any of the fractals unplayable, it did make them very tedious and annoying at times to complete. Slippery slope was an interesting mechanic for sure and yes it was funny the first few times but it gets old real fast especially when its part of deepstone making a filler section ten times harder for no reason. Im sure if they wanted to they could bring it back for a new fractal with a snowy/icy theme.

    > You're trying to be too judgemental by declaring that I'm not any good now. At least it proves how terrible you are!

    >

Yes I agree. I am a terrible person and I still think a solo queue only ranked queue is a horrible idea. Remember last season when there was solo queue only at 1600 above? The only incentive it gave to players is to stay below 1600 so that they can play with friends or to not bother with ranked at all because solo play at that level is nightmarish they way matchmaking is (plats getting matched with golds +5/-20 games). Population was among the lowest then and there was at most 2 people in legendary division by the end of the season (NA). Look i get you want a more balanced matchmaking experience but anet is not dumping any resources on pvp atm and the greatest incentive for a lot of people to play ranked is the ability to queue with others to share the climbing experience. Makes the climb less stressful and is generally a better experience. In terms of gameplay the only advantage duo queues get is better coordination and thats if theyre on discord. The idea is sharing the same matchmaking experience is more enjoyable with others. Doesnt make them better or worse. Removing duo queue again is just gonna drive away more people and you're gonna get even more volatile games against really high ranked players or really low ranked players.

  7. 1. Don't know who the alts are but I recognise a lot of the leaderboard players so I don't know wtf you're talking on about with alts.

2.If you're being matched with pip farmers, says a lot more about you than bad duos.

3.Balance is aite right now although some classes like the mirage can use more tweaking. Ppl nonstop complaining about balance generally don't know wtf they're talking about in the first place. Mostly lower ranked players. Devs shouldnt balance the game based on those opinions.

4.Queue times are the same. Not longer, not faster. You get faster queues during prime time and slower queues during off hours.

Also just because you dont have friends to play with doesnt mean others shouldnt be allowed to play with their friends. Also you make it sound like solo queue is going to make ranked games soo much better. It's going to be the fucking same. You're not any good now and you're not gonna be any better with solo queue only. It just becomes a more miserable experience for people who just want to play with friends.

    >

    > its really not that good. I mean, are you talking power core necro? Condi necro does nothing. Like really nothing. My question would be, what could you possibly be running to make it tanky? Not even reapers are tanky anymore.

    >

    > This is why out of about 25 games, im the only core necro.

    >

    > I mean screw that like all this season and last season, the season before that, the season before that, cont...

    >

    > Ive been the only core necro.

Boon corrupt man. Full boon bar into condis just like that cause you can take both spite and curses. Plus it can tank hard man. Lots of life force generation from death shroud 4. Also death shroud drains slower than reaper shroud so that also adds to sustain. Really good vs boon heavy classes like guardians and engineers. Now POWER core necro does nothing. Thats just budget reaper. Condi core necro is strong. Not above and beyond but pretty solid.

    > Funny situation but unlike most games with PvP, top stats in GW2 don't necessarily mean that you played better than the rest of your team since it's the objectives that win you the game.

Let the man revel in his glory. You say top stats dont matter but in this case he had more fight participation and secured skills and revives than anyone on his team. Means he was there when it mattered and it was pretty clutch too with such difference in points. Kudos to him. Not talking about what his rank is or anything just appreciating his achievement.

  10. I dont want to test new builds in a tryhard match where ppl are trying to win. Unranked is good to test new stuff out without jeopardising your rating. Also population is too low for ranked team queue. One thing they can do is make a party ranked queue where teams are made up of duos and trios or full 5 man parties with a seperate ranked mmr associated with it. That way they can make a solo queue only mode for all the lonely tryhards out there. Leaderboards will display both solo and party mmr but will only use solo to determine leaderboard position.

    > Good luck.

Yea so i just tried using different client ports to download the game again but same issue. It downloads but like barely. Download speed would go up to around 500 kb/sec and then drop back down to 0 kb/s immediately. Note that my broadband allows for up to 5 MB/s download speed. Like this literally never happened before. Updates usually download at full speed and last time i tried to reinstall, it worked fine but now it's just not downloading anything properly. I really think something's wrong with Anet's client download server. I doubt my firewall and antivirus are blocking anything. Maybe I'll wait till tmr and try again. This is frustrating especially since Halloween is going on and I really want to play.

  12. I've never had this issue before. Right now I can't seem to fully download the update. It would start and right before it's playable it stops updating. Also i tried repairing the client and it would just freeze. I'm trying to reinstall now and it seems like that's not working either. It's just not downloading anything. Is it just my computer or is GW2 having server issues that's not allowing me to even download the game now?

  13. Ffs use auto wordcorrect or something man. This was just painful to read. And no, I disagree with all your points. The pvp in this game only seems spammy from a new player or outsider's perspectives. There are lot of intricacies that goes into playing each class and no spamming abilities won't get you anywhere. No one class should be exclusive to one role just because they fit into the perceived stereotype of said role, like guardians should not just be tanks because that's what you think guardians should do.

There is a lot more variety in terms of builds and functionality now than there were back at launch especially with the addition of elite specs but I wouldnt say that makes the game spammy and less tactical. Yes there are multiple builds that allow for similar playstyles but thats because of how the meta evolved around conquest which means there are really only 4 main roles that all builds belong to: duelist/side noder, support, dps/carry and roamer/+1/assassin. This is a consequence of balancing around conquest and not because anet is trying to give a little bit of everything to every class. What this means is, contrary to what you said about every class being hybrid, each class still compliments each other depending on the role they play but instead of saying class it makes more sense now to say what build they play because builds determine the role of each class.

For example guardians have 2 elite specs and core. A guardian that uses the meta core build plays a dps role whereas the DH meditrapper would be more of a duelist and firebrand a support. 1 class 3 builds 3 different role. Guardian alone shouldnt be exclusive to being "the tank" and the same applies to other classes.

Final note: Spamming anything in pvp is a 1 way ticket to bronze. Boon awareness is important and if you're spamming skills like warrior shield bash on a guardian with aegis on stability, then you just wasted an important cc skill. There are a lot of other stuff like that that you should be aware of before saying OMG PVP IS SO SPAMMY AND REQUIRES NO SKILL.

    > Serious question: do people really use Tab for targeting in PvP? I find myself left-clicking the enemy model much more often.

    > You've made me curious about whether higher-level players prefer clicking or Tab targeting.

I use tab or whatever key I bound it to instead of left clicking. I only left click when there is too much clutter on the screen and I need to target a specific player. Tab usually targets whoever is in the middle of my screen so I would just look at them and press tab for ez lock on.

  15. Target break isnt really a problem I think. The ability to blend in with clones is intended if anything since it plays into confusing the enemy. I'm more annoyed by their ability to blind on shatter than their ability to stun break on evade or their condi application or whtever a lot of these idiots on the forums still complain about. Too many times a mesmer player managed to live cause their blind made me miss a key attack that would have otherwise downed them.

    > > >

    > > > This is what I'm running. At high mmr and premade AT groups it plays as an excellent assassin build. I can typically crit 5k-8k with True Shot. Lots of spike damage. Only thing it probably lacks is some cleave and isn't the best in a 1v1.

    > >

    > > I like what you're doing with this build. Keep wings of resolve for passive move speed and cleanse but not for initiating which gives you space to slot leadership runes for longer boon uptime. With radiance you also get a good crit buff and i understand how much damage you can dish out with true shot while being tethered. I'll try it out. Would probs take healer's retribution over right hand strength tho for the retal uptime when F1 is on cd. I'd also swap opportunity on sword with agility on bow. Since you're gonna F1 and true shot from ranged it seems like the better sigil setup. Sword 2 + 3 with quickness feels like a better gap closer/burst option.

    > >

    > > Edit: Silly me you get retal from "stand your ground" so i guess right hand strength is a good option. I was also thinking of a better stunbreak option and avoid taking stand your ground but you're not taking virtues so stand your ground seems like the right choice.

    > >

    >

    > My main reason for not going virtues is because dragonhunter virtues have a cast time. You end up missing out on the entire reason for going virtues as a core guard. With radiance you get some more damage and the perk from renewed justice is nice.

I noticed because you didn't take virtues, you don't get retal on F1 so you have to use other active sources like the heal skill if you dont take right hand strength or stand your ground or your F3. Ideally it would be nice to take both DH and virtues together with radiance but without valor, the sustain game becomes kinda meh.
