I find Ruye easy, even without a tank build. Put on some projectile reflect/destruction and a shield and you're good. Dodging the fire is easy. Also, on Rev, Jalis really helps with damage reduction and even more so with Planar Protection (for projectile protection) or Close Combat for further damage reduction, both in Retribution and you don't even need to sacrifice your DPS build for it. At least, not too much. Ezal, however, fires far faster than Ruye, almost twice as much, has the same knockback cone as Zirh/Ruye AND the projectiles of Varre, but MUCH harder to avoid and when shooting through them and hitting you, she blinds you, so hitting her sometimes means missing vital attacks like CC, teleports or elite skills. Mind you, this is all my personal opinion, but I've heard more people ask for help with Ezal than with Ruye.

  2. Funny this should be brought up. As a way to show that Condi Herald was really good at tanking and killing, I made a video on it. It has me messing up quite a bit, but even with that, didn't get downed once. It's an attrition build, but gets the job done. This was soloing Ezal the Quick in Harathi Hinterlands, probably the hardest of all the Bandit Champions, including the Executioner, which is a legendary (which this build can take on as well).

    > Today's low hardware should run GW2 perfectly because of how old the game is.

Well, you're right about that, but at the same time, they've been adding more things to the game that clogs the screen and more complex models that now requires more modern hardware. When it was released, it was good for the hardware at the time, but as time progresses, it needs more. And sadly, due to how "not very optimized" it is, it will always run like poopoo.

  4. Not only would it require GW2 to have it's graphics engine/api to be rewritten to DX12 (which won't happen), but then they'd have to somehow jerry-rig the engine to support DLSS, which would be a monumental task to add to a very old MMORPG. On top of that, it probably wouldn't run very well on other hardware outside of NVIDIA's video cards and this game was meant to be run with, well, average hardware. You'd have better luck trying to convince them to, somehow, convert the full game to a mobile platform. With the resources they have now, plus people barely being able to get their hands on DLSS-capable cards due to how the market has been destroyed by scalper bots and low supply, the interest in GW2 running with DLSS is going to be less than the interest for GW2 on Linux, which is VERY niche as is.

tl:dr: While a nice idea to think about, it's not even remotely feasible to add DLSS to the game, let alone it be worth it for people since most players aren't running computers with graphics cards that powerful anyway.

I disagree. Sure, it could have had some more thought put into it, but you can still get a lot out of it and the animations make it easy enough to know what you're doing to do next without much issue.

I've been using the [shortbow Renegade](https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Renegade_-_Shortbow_Renegade) build from Metabattle (with Trailblazer gear) and even switched out Kalla for Glint to have an option that mitigates one-shot attacks (Facet of Light is AMAZING). The DPS is a bit lower, but honestly, it barely notice it and still kill champs fast and easily. I switch to [Power Bombardment](https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Renegade_-_Power_Bombardment) if I want to kill trash mobs fast before going after something much more powerful or if I want a bit more challenge. Honestly, Condi Herald with the rest of the Shortbow Renegade build is really strong and it makes things melt pretty well. It says to use Superior Runes of Tormenting, but it won't really matter much if you are face tanking and not moving (plus it won't help against immobile targets). Just go with Nightmare. It's a best general purpose option that gets results. Switch out Corruption (if running Trailblazer) for Invocation to help against heavy condi fights or fights where projectiles are a problem (use Dome of the Mists). Even against trash mobs, the AoEs from Mallyx and Glint really help take them out fairly quickly.

    > all MMOS slowly or quickly get better graphics, and those who can't get a better PC have to sadly suck it up and can't be used as an argument for not upgrading it. if it was the case we would still be playing text only adventure games or Atari.

Just remember that not everyone can afford the latest and greatest. That's why the engine has not been updated. They have to cater to their biggest audience, the more casual gamers that might not be able to, or know how, to upgrade to a better system made for running a higher end system. If they kept the ability to use both graphics modes, old and new, then it would work out, but knowing the way most people just want them to get rid of the old and stick to the new, it would not work at all. They would alienate their more budget-conscious audience, which is the majority. I get the need and want for an updated engine to take advantage of modern hardware, but they have to find the best way to execute that without doing the above, which is not easy.

A good example was Aion that had the original, not-as-pretty older engine and the newer, but still not that optimized, pretty graphics engine. They allowed you to choose between then two and it was nice since people with older system could still play without issue and people with beefier systems could enjoy the better graphics and overall improvements. If Anet can do that, I'm sure they would, but it doesn't seem feasible and literally telling people to suck it up and spend money they don't have to appease the more minor audience seems selfish, in my opinion. This is another factor as to why some older MMOs still have an audience. While I would love an upgraded engine, at the same time, I don't want people excluded for the sake of new, shiny graphics.

    > Thanks for the reply, LOL so there is no points spending 600 gems on an item that is not even unlimited use I better save my gems for something more useful.

If that's your take on skins, then you're going to sorely hate doing Fashion Wars since ALL skins except the ones from Achievement Milestones (Zenith/Pinnacle/etc.) will cost you transmutation charges. On top of that, a LOT of the stuff in the shop is one-time use only before you have to buy it again (again, this does not apply to everything in the shop, but to most things). If you really don't care to do that, then convert gold to gems and buy the skin so you don't have to spend your money on, what I assume, you perceive to be a bad deal. Honestly, though, Fashion Wars won't be for you if that's the case. Good luck, though.

    > Yeah, that's what I would expect, too, even though many who post here say that wouldn't be the case.

They said the same for build templates. Also, why do people think we're getting a new race? I mean, we went to HoT and got nothing. We got PoF and got nothing. What makes this new expansion so different? This hype train is going to crash and burn just like every other hype train that has come before it.

    > Probably because players kept asking for templates for years ~~, so someone at Anet thought they'd be willing to pay this much to get them.~~ and said they'd pay for them.

    FTFY.

Players tend to forget that they said they'd pay for a feature they were asking for and once it came out, it's "surprised pikachu" face. If people say they're willing to pay for them, and they sell them, then saying it's unfair or that it's all Anet's fault is rather...well, stupid. (inb4 my post gets removed)

Nobody has commented on them yet even though I have had them for two years, but that's probably because they feel embarrassed to bother a superior platformer such as myself with their peasant-like attempts at conversation.

That or they can barely see them, which is a shame. I wish my two infusions has better effects.

    > Hey everyone, it's that time of year when spring is in the air and our minds turn to the timeless seasonal pursuit of collecting baubles. There are some timing changes to the Super Adventure Festival this year that we don't want to take you by surprise, so let's get to it.

    >

    > The Super Adventure Festival will activate in mid-April this year, instead of overlapping with April 1st. The Super Adventure Box originally started as an April Fools' Day joke, but it's expanded into a real festival over time. Since we usually do a little something for April Fools' Day anyway, having that minor holiday overlapping Super Adventure Festival caused a yearly headache to ship both events simultaneously or temporarily turned off. This year we're going to give the Super Adventure Festival some space from the 1st to let it and April Fools' stand independently.

    >

    > This doesn't mean a new World is happening this year. There will be new secrets to find in the Box, a new meta achievement reward and a new set of weapons to collect – a different twist on the original set rather than the usual new color – but the doors to Worlds 3 and 4 will remain shut. However, we haven't given up on a larger addition to the Super Adventure Box, and even if it isn't this year or the next, we'll be chipping away at it behind the scenes. You may even see some new assets in the Box this year from outside the Worlds you know…

    >

    > Finally, if you have a few minutes I'd like to collect a little feedback about the Super Adventure Festival. Feel free to answer the following questions to help us make the game, and the game within the game, better than ever!

I was almost in tears for this news. I LOVE YOU GUYS!...now fix Rev, pls. Better power options for Dual Sword. But I digress...

    > - What's your favorite level in Super Adventure Box? Is there anything in particular that sets it above the rest it for you?

W2Z2 because it's long, painful AND a great challenge. Sure, W2Z3 is long and painful as well, but I can do that one in my sleep...I mean, I guess I can do the same with W2Z2, but the music is great (both original and metal mixes), there is a ton of things that can go wrong and it makes the challenge of it all a blast. My fiance and I have been waiting for SAB to come back since it ended last year, so this is gonna be fun! If any Anet employees wanna go for a run in Trib, let me know. I'll gladly bring you all along with us!

    > - Last year, Super Adventure Festival was the first festival to introduce a Weekly Vendor. What new items would you like to see on the Weekly Vendor?

Honestly, this was great and it was even better than SAB was the one to introduce this new and popular trend. Personally, I liked the items on offer already, but if any others have good suggestions, I think that'd be fine. Just keep the legendary shards available. They are pretty great.

    > - What sort of new Super Adventure Festival content would you like to see in the future? It's fine to respond "I want a new World, only spend time on that!" but are there other kinds of gameplay or minigames you'd enjoy in the meantime?

Obviously W3 and W4, but I'm patient. I can wait. Still, I would still love to see mount skins for SAB and maybe even some missions where you face off against boss-leveled super bee dogs, bananas and perhaps even the trib cloud. And it could be done within SAB with only your SAB upgrades and with a small chance at getting Crimson Assassin or Kaiser Snake weapon boxes (or skin boxes, either one works). Personally, could bring some more to the table. Could also make it so baubles can help stimulate the economy a bit by being able to purchase things that can be bought in other festivals, or even some more SAB-themed infusions (or the current set and give them better visuals). Just some thoughts!

    > > just call it armory and make it work for ascended gear to.

    >

    > exactly this!

No. While ascended gear is account bound, it's stats can't be changed and honestly, that would mean having to unlock every, single, stat combo for your ascended gear and have a VERY big armory for that. I'd rather it'd be limited to legendary gear since that is stat swappable on the fly. This is clearly the better option and honestly, it would give less incentive to get legendary gear. This is a good thing since it drives content to be done that provides legendary gear. On top of that, ascended gear is SO EASY to get that you'll never run out of it, thus the need for it to be in this kind of armory is pointless. I know people with stacks of ascended boxes in their banks and no, having the armory for that will not decrease that. It'll just make that gear even more useless.

  13. People are right when they say the game has a CPU bottleneck rather than GPU and usually in single-core performance. Despite having a high-end Ryzen CPU, you need to overclock it to reach better speeds. it's why people with 5Ghz CPU's run the game far better, but even then, it's not 100%. Models will always dip the game down to lower FPS. You'll never get 60 FPS everywhere and during anything because most MMO's are not built like single-player or multi-player games. They are built very differently and are harder to optimize. You also have to consider this game was made back in, what, 2012? It's coming up on 8 years and it's showing its age.

Overclock your CPU if you have a decent fan cooler or AIO/Liquid Cooler and try to get as high as possible while keeping stable. That will definitely help. I'm running a Ryzen 5 2600 at 3.85Ghz and it's pretty fast, but slows down a bit more with Reshade on. If I disable Reshade, I can get 60+ FPS in various areas, but never in meta events or big battles and I don't expect to either.

THANK you! Someone else that knows that we don't need the Greatsword. I prefer something more fun, like Dual Daggers (**_cough_** _Look to the left side of your screen_ **_cough_**) or something else magic based since we are using magic from the Mists. Hell, I'll even take a Longbow since our ranged options aren't exactly great with Shortbow or Hammer (one is garbo and the other is slow).

  15. I love most of the weapons in this set. They are beautiful and really are stunning. I grabbed the Hammer for my Rev, but I would have loved the shield, Staff or Scepter since those are my personal favorites. The sword is nice, but I have The Shining Blade, so it can't compete against that, haha!
