Some questions to whoever may answer:
1) Had you full creativity freedom, what would you do story wise? Would you bring another unseen menace? Would you bring back something from the original game? Introduce a deuteragonist?
2) About the process. Could you give us an overall glance on how the magic works? Are you guys given a strong guideline/ hook ( for example: The dwarves are back) and then build upon it or the team just brainstorm until something gets greenlit?
3) I personally believe story is always the first step, then the rest of the team (art and tech guys) work together to "translate" the story into content. Is something like that?
4) Who are your favorite writers?
5) How difficult/different is to write for games compared to write other stuff (to say novels, short stories, etc..)

Behind every conspiracy theres someone with his own Agenda, usually power and/or wealth.
The answer is most probably to be found in the answer of the question: Cui bono? (i.e, who benefits from it?). And I don't think the game gave us sufficient information that enable us to infer that.
IMHO, there's not too much to be found either. I think the separatist subplot was put there just to reinforce the dialectical nature of the world of tyria.
I'll explain.
I think is a concern of the writers to not paint any race as inherently good or evil, but both to be found in them. For example, The Arcane Council vs The Inquest, The Dream vs The Nightmare, The Black Citadel vs The Flame Legion, The followers of the Spirits of the Wild vs The Sons of Svanir.

I think the Jotun did it.
One of the Norn storylines tell you about a glorious past of Jotun Kings. During the Jotun Path in the Arah explorable dungeon you find an observatory and discover they were stargazers once. Also, the inhuman proportions of it.

Maybe we would know better if people didn't vote for Ellen Kiel.

I'd like to hear from you what was the nerf/update that hurt most?
Some contestants:
- Nerf to Soul Reaping
- 10 minion cap ( it was needed in PvP tho)
- Improvements in the AI code made monsters scramble from AoE (this killed the Echo Nuke meta, but affected other builds as well)
- Changing griffons to scarabs and killing that farm for good
Speaking for myself, the monsters running from AoE and minion cap were real killjoys
-
Some moments:
- Farming griffons. Really. It was the first time I've ever farmed anything in a game. Soloing those monsters alone with my warrior was a such empowering experience !
- Running minion army in the sorrows furnace (4-man oro runs were a blast)
- The first weeks of FA there was a lot taunting before each match. Being a fresh a assassin, killing Gunther myself had a special flavor to me.
- Beating Mallyx and FoW with h/h - those felt like a real accomplishment to me
- Spending almost an entire night in Ascalon Arena, I don't know how but we couldn't stop winning. I was the ranger, there was a warrior and two other I cant remember now. Best pvp of all my gw1 for sure.

Yea..that may work. A score reset on a weekly basis would be sweet.

Pain Inverter, Breath of the great dwarf. Don't use interrupt heroes.
The last time I run this mission, I used 3 ranger heroes with touch ranger build - despite being overly obnoxious - life stealing damage was able to damage him when it burrowed.

My personal bet is on the Jotun.
If you played the GW2 Norn personal story, you discover that the Jotun were once a powerful and less barbaric race. During the Jotun path on Arah explorable dungeon, you discover the ancient Jotun were stargazers.
So, IMHO, the ancient Jotun were the ones that build the Eye monument.

I'm a sucker for the main themes.
EotN theme is my favorite, with Prophecies and Factions coming to a close second.

I made so much gold off of running that for people and it was so satisfying to watch his health bar melt away. Especially after all of the trouble he gave when I first fought him after the release of Factions.
Do you still remember this build? Does it still work? Looks like the thing I'd love to do.
-
No clue. Really.
-
My Top 3:
- Spiteful Spirit - nothing more joyful than seeing those mindless mobs killing themselves. Lots of big numbers popping.
- Pain Inverter - The ultimate boss killer after the nerf of grenth's balance
- Any skill that applies Deep Wound (like Finish Him or Gash)
Honorable mention
- Gladiator's defense - for the ol' good times of griffon farming.
-
GW1 necroes were da bomb.
I loved SS and Minion Army (all those bone fiends unleashing hell at the Sorrows Furnace were among the most memorable to me).
Other good builds I remember:
- HB warrior
- Splinter/Barrage
- VWK farmer

Yea.. but they had it properly foreshadowed in Winds of Change.

Yes and take my money.

I for one have mad respect for the balance team of gw1.
The number of skills was insane, (and double that number by 2 because of dual classing) and on top of it all every class had its own flavor mechanic that interacted with the build. Serioulsy guys, I don't know you did it.
While some gimmick builds were borderline game breaking (like 55monk / perma SF in PvE) most of the time things went well enough.
I just hope some aberration like touchies never happen again..

All of the Luxon area: The Jade sea, the mountains, etc..

Fashion was better 250 years ago, I agree

Good luck with that lol

Please do it.
I have a second account that have only prophecies and NF. An "all-in-one" bundle would be a insta buy.
Also, a sale on character slots would be nice (don't know how that would impact servers tho).

I created a new char, a Silvari, today and I cant leave the home city.
Whenever I try to leave the game DCs and I get the ** Error Code 5:11:3:159:101**

400~500 gems per mount reasonable. I can back that up
But, please, ** let people choose** the mount they want. We already got so much RNG ..
Quick note about Mist Lord's weapon set
