  1. Absolutely useless, because

    1. You limit it to 6 storage templates per character. Not enough.

    2. To max out 6 storage templates per class I'd have to spend (4x8+3)x500 = 17500 gems = 218,75 €.

Look at this ridiculous number. LOOK AT IT. This still

    3. Does not include build templates.

We'd be at around 400 €. I payed for this game and both expansions, guys. In addition to that

    4. It ruins the effort I have put into legendary armor and weapons.

As demonstrated before, you do not get this abomination for the looks. Now you devalue its functionality, too.

You make it incredibly clear in what direction you want to go with the game, and let me just tell you: If I wanted to be a paypig I'd play a mobile game. So I won't be part of this journey. Goodbye.

Cool, but you should really be more specific with your examples, and not make them up to support your argument. It's been detailed enough now that people need builds and that they are different from each other.

I'm pretty tired of this argument that you also kind of present here: "I don't need it, so nobody else does." Yeah no.

Having templates for small changes not only adds more comfort, aka QoL, but also more security that you did not make any mistakes while choosing gear.

They're actually not doing so hot judging by their quarterly income vs. The amount of staff they have. Also higher level devs hit between 130-150k in Bellevue. So yeah they're probably barely maintaining their business when you factor in senior and leadership positions.

If you think anet pays that much you should read some glassdoor reviews.

    > Thanks. Now please bare with this poor ignorant moron, as I am trying to learn here; how often are each of those variants required in 1 instance, and what really constitutes the variant (1 piece armor? An offhand weapon swap?)

The instance is not always an "instance" as in raid wings or fractals, but the character you play on. You want everything on one character, because you want to stay on that character for reasons (like having all bag slots unlocked, having a main etc; and not have alts of the same class). Role changes (support / power dps / condi dps / wvw build) mostly do not happen during a clear (except if you optimize squad composition and/or kill time and adjust it during a run, very complicated and only possible in guilds), but if you pug and want to stay on your character and change groups, they do.

If you do a raid wing and want to swap on the fly, you want to change something in between each fight and depending on others if you notice something is wrong.

    Take w3 for example:

    1x Chrono Cave

    1x Chrono Escort Support

    1x Chrono dps for escort

1x Tank on KC with 1005 toughness

1x Tank on KC with more toughness depending on other chrono

1x Chaos Chrono for Twisted Castle (fall dmg, more toughness, blink, portal)

1x High Toughness Tank for Xera

1x Low Toughness Tank for Xera

    1x Power DPS for Xera

The toughness varies between patches and how much boon duration you want, and what runes you take with you, how low you wanna go, what food you want to use. You want to critcap, so that's more to think about when playing power dps.

Granted, some of those builds carry over to other fights, but others (like twisted castle) do not. This stuff is important to make absolutely sure you get to tank, have the right traits and skills (which can be changed manually, obv, but doing this via templates adds another layer of safety and not fucking up) and just play optimally.

Some variants like just swapping one weapon can be quite a bother. Without legendaries and templates, you'd have *a lot* of weapons to swap in and out. If you accidentally take your high toughness sword, you may suddenly find yourself in the position of tank with low toughness armor and trinkets. And in the wrong subgroup. You don't want that to happen, at stuff like that even happens at high skill raid tournaments.

    > Do all variants require being on 1 character? (I understand not wanting to switch characters within an instance).

Yes. You don't want to switch, especially if you do not have an SSD. Waiting and downtime is annoying. In the runs I lead I always valued as little downtime as possible way higher than fast kills when it comes to full clears. And you do that via templates and minimizing relogging.

  5. You don't need to be "on my side". This problem simply doesn't concern you, it's fine. Just go play somewhere else tbh. Why would I need to convince you, a random dude who comes in and just says "naahhh you don't need that"?

I seriously don't get people like you. You can't be bothered to think for yourself or do the math from the starting post, and you dare to impose on people like me what we need or want from the game. Even if we directly and politely state what we need you are like "nahhh proof it to ME". Who do you think you are?

All you're doing is splitting the playerbase.

I have a simple request. Acknowledge it and move on. No need to convince you. Just get out.

I don't use arc, so I'm guessing here. The reason why arc could have infinite amount is because it isn't cooked in to the game. Hence why you weren't hampered by the clutter.

Yeah but... I'm not really here to guess why it's not possible. I'm just saying what I need. :/

  7. Title.

I have too many builds, 6 slots simply aren't enough for players like me.

    Fractals, WvW, Open World, Raid.

Raids and Fractals different sets depending on bosses / fractals.

    Power, Condi, Tanking, Support, Mixed.

Rune sets depending on who plays with me.

Some +precision depending on who plays with me.

And a mix of everything above. 6 slots is not enough. I had over 20 templates on chrono, realistically I needed and wanted more. And at some time had more.

The same is true for Guardian, Rev, Ele and my Ranger. Necro too.

It's okay if you don't need any of that. But I do. I'm also used to it. I don't want to change how optimized I play, and I don't want to go back to the days where it took me minutes between raid bosses to adjust my gear and double check if it is correct.

Not talking about the use of legendary gear or how it is bagspace or whatever. I just need more slots or this system is worthless to me and a straight downgrade from arc days. I don't want that.

    Thanks.

    > Personally though i'll be perfectly content with the default 3 build templates and 2 equipment slots per character as i'm almost exclusively a PvE player and I rarely ever change builds anyway.

Yeah but just because you don't need it doesn't mean nobody needs it. When I played the game actively, I had about 20 chrono builds. Probably more.

As it stands this feels like a QoL for people who don't need the QoL because they don't use it anyways. And at that point where you'd start to need it, it fails you.

Give up, most people have no idea about world building. You're talking to a wall.

    > It's a fair question. I've seen some chatter on Reddit, one from an obvious raider who has something like 10 different rune sets he keeps in his bags, and swaps them out when he changes the stats on his armor for different raid bosses. I don't see anyone who does fractals needing that many options (though I'm sure it exists) but for raiding it makes perfect sense.

Here is what I did on Chrono when I still played the class and game:

    - Full Legendary Armor

    - Full Legendary Weapons

I stacked 7 of each rune I needed and 3 of each sigil in an invisible bag. When I swapped my build with arcdps (raids, roles, open world, different wvw builds), it would use up all runes and sigils except for one, when I swapped back it would fill back up to a stack of 7 or 3 respectively. This way, my runes and sigils did not swap places in my inventory. It took me about 40 slots to comfortably do that and store everything I need for everything in the game in one inventory. Most of the slots went to one accessory, two rings and one amulet for each build, or a bit less if certain things overlapped (berserker gear in open world for example, even if I added some concentration at the armor).

So you pay for bag space with legendary runes and sigils, if you do have legendary armor and/or weapons. If you do not have those, why not craft them instead? And if you do not want to craft them first, then you should probably just play with different ascended gear sets anyways and take the bigger hit to your bag space.

Legendary runes and sigils would reduce the required bag space by about 10-15, I'd say. That's simply not worth the effort. This is not QoL. It's dumb.

That's why this is not for players who play a lot of builds on one main class. If you have multiple characters, things get even worse.

So the current implementation is just bad.

If you're a casual player, you're not interested in legendary runes and sigils anyways.

If you're in PvP it does not matter.

If you play WvW you have a legendary armor anyways, if not you'll most likely play one or two builds.

If you raid you are working on legendary armor.

Nothing much left when it comes to uses.

You do not understand the supply part of the supply and demand thingy.
