This is the best explanation so far. Of course, we're now debating whether or not it's a skimmer, so we've gotten off topic.

So, would you maybe guess that Asura tech is using a type of beetle magnetism to maintain the tether?

I know. I should suspend reality for a moment and just accept it... but...
I can't help feeling the roller beetle isn't necessary for the new mount. You get to ride this awesome jet powered mini-bike that is... pushing? the roller beetle. From the trailer, it appeared like the bike was somehow tethered to the beetle, but why and how? Does the beetle provide speed to the bike somehow? Who is actually holding the reins here?
Let's hear some theories. How does this roller-beetle-bike work?

City of Heroes/Villains had this, where you could specify skill effects. It was really nice.
Open them up to being dyed. I wouldn't mind seeing more diversity in the game.

Is it finally time to see something happen with our scepter skills? Would you actually use it if it was improved?

This is the best suggestion I have heard. I love the idea of a darker 'mirror' world. I don't think the Mesmer plays enough with mirror magic, and based off of Balthazar's trickery, we know Lyssa uses mirror magic. It would be a fun spin to the story.

What is your build?

What I need to know, is what is the song?

Okay, what are the skins in the first one?
Third Elite Specialization "Minstrel" - Concept
in Mesmer

I would love a banshee for the necro. But it's a hard 'no' from me on a minstrel for the Mesmer. I feel like that removes us too far from the 'chaos' magic base, and makes us a little more frou-frou than I would like to play. Plus, I don't think my sylvari could really carry a tune.
