  1. Hello,

First of all I would like to say that the new black lion torch skin is amazing - gj there ! :+1:

I unerstand that making better quality black lion skins lead to higher income for the company and we all want that but it led ut to the point, some legendary skins are far worse than gemstore skins in terms of effects - for example Rodgort and a new phoenix feather torch skin.

We've received some visual updates on some 1st gen legendary weapons. Is there a plan to update them all?

Did it go the way of the Tengu as a playable race? I'm hoping this weapon would be easy to add because it was there then got scrubbed before launch. I just can't prove it.

    > I am fully commited to the next weapon being pistol for warrior. I have already made HOPE for this as I honestly believe this is the only viable weapon for the warrior which will provide the most benefit to what is currently missing.

Actually you're probably right. In my opinion right now warrior lacks one handed ranged weapon the most **but**, considering how many people demads staff as next warrior weapon it may be the case aswell especially when it would fit the theme of expansion (monk, staff mele weapon). I would be happy to see any of them honestly as long as A.net won't make next espec support. People are rising the topic of warrior not having "true support" spec but lets face it we are stuck with dps/support role from vanilla. I would rather see pistol/pistol range **pure** dps spec. I would love to wear nevermore with my warrior but I dont see it being different from revenant staff.

I had an idea of warrior next espec losing weapon swap and instead using stances (F1-F4) to use equiped weapons differently (F1- power dps; F2 - condi dps; F3 defensive + cc; F4- movement?; Something similar to elementalists possibilities) but with all the weapons warrior can equip right now it would be too much of work for one espec i guess. I just would loove to see a little more depth with warriors :bleep_bloop:

Or maybe staff as ranged weapon for warrior when you swing the staff that hard you cause air pressure waves? It would always be something new. The only thing limiting devs is their imagination. Still i can see that more likely than whole new weapon type.

  3. Well, to be honest, in my opinion dungeons would benefit this. This change would bring a lot of people back. The problem is adding even 1 clover per succesfull run would decrease value of legendary items drastically. How about receiving a clover from repeatable achievements. Lets say 3 dungeons = 1 clover similar to Dungeon frequenter achievement? Lately I've been returning to dungeons with my brother to feel nostalgia again and honestly it's sad that people abadoned this content. If i had to bet how much people do Dungeon runs i'd bet on lower than 5%. It is fast, doesnt require meta squads and you do not die from 1 shot like in T4 fractals. Just a form od relax that could bring something useful to you and woulndt feel like you lost your time while you could make 20g in the time you've spent in dungeons. Dungeons can be also done solo if it's not restricted with mechanics like arah p1 or cof p1. If people would have more interest in dungeons, streams and YouTube channels would benefit aswell by teaching ppl how to solo the content. Im kinda fed up with fractals and raid runs with full meta restrictions, waiting for hours for pug team to form up and ppl rq after 1 fail, we need something to relax on after a day in work. Of course this is only the way to attract more people by expanding possibilities. It wouldn't be mandatory to run it, you can always go to fractals if it fits you better and just Craft clovers when you need them.

    >

    > How will it fit into Cantha? I couldnt tell you. But do elite specs really need to be based on the area you go to? Or could it be based on 'training' done in the mainland? As an example a charr regiment trains up warriors to be proficient with the pistol.

    > I will be heavily dissa-pointed (had to split this word up due to silly emoji's) if they provide any other weapon due to the benifits i can see with pistol... Staff im struggling to see what we'd gain from it. Logic states we wont get a weapon that gives us nothing new, like a 2h range staff, melee staff or CC melee staff, we already have weapons that fill those roles. Pistol would provide the warrior something it has never had before, range weapons on one hand!

Hey, what about making staves into spears in similar way necro uses staff as scythe. For example magical blade could apear on top of staff while weapon is drawned

It's not impossible since they made it once.

  5. Hello guys! Well i keep hearing 2 arguments over and over against Tengu as playable race (or "any new race" in particular). Don't get me wrong I would love to see them introduced as new expansion feature but I won't go to forums and complain if a.net decides that it's not what they will do. Just hear me out, I think these arguments are reasonable.

    - People say it's too much work to introduce a new race but honestly, they are not planning to work on new expansion, they are already doing it, noone knows for how long and it doesn't seem like we will hear announcement sooner than a year from now, not to mention release. I honestly doubt it's more work than designing a new class together with elite spec and balancing it like they did with revenant. They've added new game mode (raids), designed 2nd gen legendary weapons, worked on fractals and pvp (leg. backpieces) + introduced major changes to both modes. They've been working on legendary armor meanwhile. People seem to forget how much HoT brought to the game. They are creative but I'm not sure there is much to add after gliding and mounts. We will probably see just 2 or 3 new mounts but it's not that fresh feature as it used to be when they announced PoF. I think that it's also a good monetisation if they add "Race change contract" as a new gem store item. Housing could be introduced aswell and it would eliminate problem with home instance ppl are rising up when they hear about the idea (not sure why it is a problem to be honest). They've managed to do so much with HoT, I dont think it's something they wouldn't be able to handle.

    - Another argument against new playable races is that they won't fit the main story from the beginning. As far as I know, revenants came with rytlock from the mists after the vanila story but somehow they start on 1 lvl, progress main story and they now participate in defeating 1st elder dragon. We just seem to ignore the fact they should start somehow with HoT story . In that case the solution is similar, design a fresh story that will lead you (as a new playable race) to fight Zaithan on some point of personal story. We would just have to pretend it was always the case just like with revenants.

As I said, I won't cry if they decide to go in other direction with this expansion but it would be nice to see a new race. If they add combat tonic i will just ignore it as I did with Kodan one but if people find it entertaining, sure why not, go for it if it's max we can count on.

    > >

    > > That's not true, I remember Josh Foreman saying that the dev team would love to revisit Cantha and that we should keep asking for it.

    >

    > No they said We wouldn't be going back to Cantha (something about the asian market/NCSoft iirc). They did say they would love to revisit as well. It would be nice after 6 years they sorted whatever the problem was and take us back. But it was a Big NO then. Factions was and is my fave campaign out of the 3, EoTN is the only xpac of GW1 so doesn't really count. I'd love to see Cantha back as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they say that they won't make any new class or an expansion which we'll have to pay for? The same with any new playable race. I'm still holding my fingers crossed for that. They had no plans for those things in the past but now it's different game and a lot has changed. A lot of people are hyped for cantha and would buy an expansion only to go there.

  7.

    > Its class mechanic should be something that buffs allies and be somewhat supportish to fill the last missing e spec role.

The thing is berserker and spellbreaker are supports in the end. Bringing banners, boon stripping and a bit of dps. Personalny would love to see pure dps spec.

    > I feel like the whole point of elite specs should be to mix the classes with each other. Dual pistol gunslinger would just feel like mixing warrior and thief. I want something akin to a warrior mixed with a elementalist kind of. Guardian to me is more defense and damage mitigation. where as i want something more magical offensive .

Warrior already has something mixed with elementalist. It's called Berserker. Throwing firebolts and stuff.

    > @"NorthernMoose.9617" said:

    > with basically all the the melee weapons already used barring any new weapons being introduced, it really leaves the more magical weapons(scepter, staff, focus) left as an untouched potential(other than pistol & SB).

I wouldn't say that staff is pure magical weapon in this game - **Daredevil**. I can think of over 9000 ways Anet could introduce staff as a new elite spec weapon for warrior.

**- Staff to fight melee monk alike** (I know monks in gw were supports, not shaolin like monks but we don't have to repeat everything over and over and they could bring something new)

**- Staff as ranged weapon** where your auto attack is a powerful swing that releases a wave of air towards your target (I know that, it sounds meh but make some mechanics around this and it could be cool and more importantly something new instead of copy/paste from other classes. With spellbreaker we didnt even get new animations)

**- Staff as something like command tool** you could use to order your minions (if Anet decides to bring elite spec based on minions. Ele has minions, guradian has minions, reve has kind of minions with renegade, mesmer has mionions, necro has minions, ranger has minions, thief has thief guild skill if I remember correctly, engi has minions. So yeah I would be happy to have elite spec for warrior based on minions.

**- Staff used as spear.** When in combat the tip of your staff could be covered with magical blade so it would make it a spear. Impossible? No! While Necro is using staff skills there is a magical blade on the staff making it a scythe. http://i.imgur.com/lXj6uHF.jpg Warrior in this game is using magic (full counter, Winds of Disenchantment etc) so why not?

Lets keep in mind that Anet probably has new elite specs concepts ready for a long time now so even if we bring something interesting it doesn't really matter :D

  9. It could bring legendary amulet so you could show your personal skill. Right now there is no item that proves you are a skilled player. Legendary armor or back piece? You can buy literally everything so it doesn't prove anything. It would have to be real challenge because right now the only hard part of raids for example is to find people who don't fake their LI.

I believe we need solo/duo challenge game mode because sometimes you don't have time and it's hard to find a group late night. Besides it would be a good selling point of new expansion. Lets face it only minority does dungeons right now so it's pretty much dead content and it's a huge waste. Don't get me wrong I like to play with others but I get annoyed when I can't do my daily fractals + CM's for like 2+ hours. Of course you can do solo dungeons now and I did that but the only reward for this is your satisfaction and I got bored with it pretty fast. Dungeons were not designed to be solo game mode.

    So let's sum it:

    - It would make a good reason to buy new expansion (allowed to solo mode when you have expansion) - why not keep old dungeons and allow to play reworked solo mode when you have an expansion?

    - It would be a good solution for people who have issues with finding people to play (it can be an issue if you come home late after work and you still want to play GW2 because you love the game)

    - New game modes so everyone would find something they enjoy (solo/duo, 5 man, 10 man)

    - Game mode that requires your improvement and bring satisfaction when you learn how to beat the boss.

The whole comment is a bit chaotic but I hope you will understand what I mean ;)

  10. Hello guys. I always laughed at the greataxe topics because i know Anet will not introduce new types od weapons as long as we still have some weapons left like Staff or pistols. However I think i found a way we could use greataxe. A lot od people would probably agree that current burst system we use is kind of borring already. What if the new elite spec replace our burst skill with something simillar to necro shroud? While being in this state we would have our weapon replaced with greataxe just like necro could use a scythe as reaper. Ofc it would come with a new set of skills. It would kind of add a new weapon and it could bring something fresh and make warrior a little deeper class. I dont think its unrealistic, because its not exclusive for necro. Firebrand has his tomes, why couldnt we receive some love this time? It could work with a spear aswell btw. :) Thanks for your time and I hope you like the idea.

  11. I've chosen shortbow but I'd be happy with staff and pistols aswell to be honest. I'm reading the rest of the comments and oh boy.... Deal with the fact that shield and focus are OFF HAND weapons and we won't be able to use them in our main hand. Just no. Next one is greataxe. A.net will not make ANY new weapon while we still have a few weapons that could be used in future elite specs. The only way we would have this begged greataxe is something simillar to necro/reaper shroud when we use different set of skills and a scythe.

  12. I've benn thinking about warrior elite spec that uses pets (humanoidal soldiers) that you'd order with a staff (as a banner or something). I'm glad there are ppl out there thinking the same way as me - WE NEED PET BUILD FOR WARRIOR :) and possibly rework to Guardian pets? :D Anyway, I appriciate your ideas, keep it up and let's hope some day we'll get it

  13. Hello guys! Sometimes I come to warrior forum only to see some new elite spec ideas for warrior. Unfortunately the most of them are: "Taking spear from water and making it into a land spear" and two others like "dual wield 2h wepons" and the most ridicolous one - "great axe".

Ok so why do I think any of those are not possible? First of all A.net will not make ANY new weapon types for now because we still have plenty of them for every existing class. Even warrior still have some options for a few next expansions. So no great axe, sorry.

Next one will be dualwield 2h wepons. Don't you think it's a bit too much copy - paste from WoW? Also, it would require making these weapons into a category like main and off hand and we won't see that probably.

Last of all would be a land spear. Its the same thing as making shield main hand, it's just made to be underwater weapon and it will probably stay like that.

So, what if I tell you we can still have a land spear but instead of changing existing, water ones we could use a staff? I know, I know these do not look like a spear and it won't work BUT i remembered about one necromancer staff animation, which change staff into a scythe. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/LSNIAOVHWK8/maxresdefault.jpg so if staff can be a scythe, why cant we add a blade at the end of a staff to make it a spear when we wield it as warrior? Only in combat. I know it's kinda like using magic but lets face it, none of us believe that warrior in this game do not use any magic. We throw fireballs....

So what do you guys think? Is it possible? Would you like it? Personally I still have hopes that warrior one day will become a dps class and spear could be perfect for that ;)

    Take care!
