From what i know, they said there wouldn't be more professions, only elite specializations. Not sure about new races. Also i think once all the LS regarding Elona/Kralkatorrik they will aim for Cantha ( i hope so) xD.

I have had a look but i didn't see any story with this plot in the short story section xD I am curious about this too now.

The guild wars 2 books are really amazing and i would recommend reading them. The basic lore can be found on Wiki both in gw1 and gw2 website, but if you wanna dig into details you should read the books too.
