  1. The idea wasn't bad, it's nice to revisit the far shiverpeaks again.

Recent releases are not as appealing as the beginning of Saga, the content feels too diluted for me. I've done the first DRMs couple of times, the 2nd batch I've done only to complete the story. I might revisit them to complete the achivements, but not in the near future.

It's nice to see the old maps in new light, but it doesn't have the appeal of visiting parts of Tyria we haven't seen since GW 1.

  2. Re-post: Because the comment I quoted was removed :)

Well, people complain about shrinking community of GW2. Having the Mac users lost as well does not particularly help anyone.

The decision of Anet is understandable no one is blaming them for not investing more resources to fit Apple's vision of an OS. I thought this thread was to share information on how to play the game on Mac machines after the support ends. Of course, the easy way out is buying PC, it's not an appealing solution for people who 1. don't need an additional computer, 2. don't play much outside of GW2.

There are many criteria considered when one buys a computer, it may have been just a better choice for someone else.

Soon enough Gw2 will have more toxic community than League of Legends...

EDIT to comment on the above:

Many will blame Anet for what happened, but it is a reasonable decision. Why cater to every Apple's wish? Fortnite was removed from the store because they couldn't adhere to the Apple's policies. Was it ok? Not exactly, because they wanted to treat their players equally by offering everyone a discount. It was the breach of contract though.

Anet had a choice at the beginning to skip iOS completely, they decided not to and they did great. MTG Arena forces users to reboot after 4-5 matches regardless of the OS. I've never experienced that with GW2. I will probably return to the game with some workaround, less frequently but still, what good does it do everyone to be mad.

The toxicity I'm referring to is not related to the Mac users leaving but the people staying and using the opportunity to offend those who will be cut off from the game in Feb (not really cut off, but asked to jump through some hoops). It's really sad that given the current state of the world all we do is flame each other in forums. Not everyone is that kind of the player but as a frequent raider I can say that there are plenty running around in GW2.

The game is great for non-subscription based MMORPG, but the community nowadays... ugh :'(

Is it working fine? I have my concerns, I use my Mac for work a lot and gaming on occasion. I don't see myself buying another computer just to play some games for 2 hours a week.

It is still a bit painful not to have GW2 as an option... especially with the incoming expack

    > Luxon

    > Kurzick

    > Ancient

    > Imperial

    > Norn

I'd love to see primeval one for ranger. It was my favorite armor from Nightfall. Even if it would come as an armor skin, I'd probably buy it for the looks.

We already have the devish one as an outfit... we need more :anguished:

  5. Fractals are a bit of a problem, ppl tend to rush them on higher tiers... but those are not usually the tiers you use to enjoy the story.

There are plenty more chill dungeon runs for sure, ppl tend to repeat them often cuz they need some runes for raid builds. For me at least, farming the currency is chill time compared to what i usually do. The only decent place where you can kill some mobs and meme around with some random ppl...

    > ?? Can you explain what you mean, as they have already been available for a long time now?

They are an option, but they seem to be a bit overpriced for what they offer. Grinding is a part of MMO experience, but those took it a bit too far.

Let's take a look at Leg Heavy Boots ~300 G to complete... Legendary Rune ~380 G if you were to buy the materials.

Crafting the legendary armor was a matter of convenience for me and the equipment templates are helping a lot e.g. on Ranger, Mesmer or Guardian. Taking the gear from HFB to BS (there are much worse examples, this is the one I've been facing recently) however, takes removing the gear from 3 templates, removing a set of runes, dropping the armor on BS, switching the stats again, popping in the runes (hopefully not for both condi and power variants). There's always an ascended option, but getting 5 sets of armor instead of 1 legendary set is not very appealing, even with the lucky drops from raids and/or fractals. Weapons are really not much of an issue, e.g. I've been getting a new ascended axe when gearing new class, despite having gen 2 Astralaria just to avoid removing it from multiple templates when sharing it with other characters (currently in use for 4 Ranger templates).

I was very excited to get the Armory, seeing lack of the updates on the topic I'm really discouraged to go for more classes...

This is why I would be happy to get more shared slots. Armor is the only one I usually share between characters also some utilities and food. This takes most of the shared slots I have.

Also, removing the armor from each template and switching the runes gets annoying sometimes, but I'm losing all hope... sort of prepared to deal with it at this stage. Can't wait for proposal of crafting the leg runes...

Weapons idc about at all, ascended ones are quite cheap compared to armor.

Don't get me wrong. I like the map bringing something a bit different to PvE. It's also good in keeping people doing meta for a bit longer -> best rewards at the end of each of the 2 parts. Once ppl get stuck in that chain they usually finish the map =)

    > Is there a list somewhere that ranks the raids in approximate order of difficulty?

Ppl shared some lists in the old forums. I'd say the following should be fine for beginners: Escort, MO, Cairn, Samarog, Gorseval, VG. Those have quite simple mechanics and shouldn't be much of an issue when ran with pugs. That would be W1-W4.

From the new wings (W5-W7) CA, Adina, River and Statues would be the easiest. I wouldn't recommend them as a start point...

Some of the bosses need very specific roles to be filled ;)

Might be the case, never been focused on strikes so much... they just don't serve their intended purpose (bringing people to raids). They are a bit of extra loot, so I do them from time to time. You know what does bring people to raids? Training guilds sharing their experience (not the ones starting static groups from 50+ Dhuum kp).

We could use another raid wing though, we are starting to run out of content to play... there's always a grind towards legendaries or some cool infusions, that's not challenging and fun. Bringing different difficulty levels to choose from, might bring more ppl to raids than Strikes ever could (it's like adding a new pve map, hoping that more ppl start playing wvw... yes I'm referring to the newest addition, they are nothing alike). Not sure if tiered system could work here like it does for fractals (there the rewards are similar, some items are just a bit more rare on lower tiers), but e.g. story instance and regular one with CM available similar to Dungeon could help a bit.

Besides not all raid encounters are "Largos wrecking a whole party with one hit" or "Dhuum throwing you to the other side of the room if you stand at an awkward angle"... There are some pretty easy ones to start with...

  10. Raiding with pugs is not the only way to raid. The raiding community is great (Iots of toxic players out there, who cares...). Find a static group. Many raiding guilds are doing some training runs during the week, if you're not familiar with the class... they are eager to give you some feedback/advice.

If you're comfortable with the group and know your class well enough, go ahead move onto Snowcrows... No one is forcing you to use them.

PPL search for an epiSc for SH... yesterday we got it with Condi BS instead...

I mean... the guilds are asking for more ppl... one of them would certainly fit your schedule!

  11. The trailer is a conversation between two female characters, both less mortal as they refer to humans as fragile beings. Current story seems to be more of the search to find vessel for dragons energy. It's no longer about grouping up and wrecking those big lizards.

Cantha was ravaged by politics in the past, but lack of contact with that continent makes a distress call an unlikely scenario. I think this would be more related to the unknown female character. Dwayna is tied to the Canthan lore with Harvest Ceremony etc. The problem is that Kormir has mentioned that she stayed behind while the other gods left Tyria for good. She has no reason to come back. Balthazar was killed ages ago, why would she return now?

It doesn't have to be a dragon to fit into the story. We have plenty of female characters in Cantha that might fit it perfectly. I'd love to see some Vizu plot twist in this case, but that 2nd voice seems to be someone way older than her. I think, that after the resolution of Jormag's arch, Taimi would simply continue tracking the dragons. She had heard some stories from sailors from the south about DSD's minions. I think it might be very likely that we would finally encounter one maybe with a brief visit in Dominion of the Winds which would lead us further south. Some hunt for a big leviathan would be nice. We would then learn that Cantha is on a brink of destruction, so we'd try to gather some legendary "friends" locally to battle big bad DSD.
