It'd be understandable if this game used things like health and energy potions, but with the way consumables work in this game with effects (mostly) lasting half an hour or longer seems to make dedicated slots not worth the time and effort for the devs.

Same can be said for novelty slot yet they still add it anyway, and most people keep lots of stuff in their inventory, easier for one click to refresh duration

Also it may have long duration but time flies when you engage in activities.

Seriously! they waste their time and efforts for a novelty slot but not for consumables? ESO prioritize that over trivial stuffs

    >

    > OK ... but Anet isn't doing it because it's a 'new' fad to follow ... they are doing it because they are serving their customers. If customers didn't want to buy progression, companies like Anet wouldn't waste their time to make and offer it. Everyone can disagree all they like and frankly, all the 'nope' in this thread is rather meaningless because these are typical, emotionally based opinions. This isn't a debate about if they should do it ... they are **_ALREADY_** doing it. The question is what progression elements they should do it to.

    >

Right....people opinions different from you are meaningless, they sell level booster but there has been a poll about whether it's good for the game, and when people bring up such question, it maybe...probably...possibly mean selling them might affect the game, i personally suggest new player shouldn't use those as they will skip all tutorials for each level up, only use it for alt

    > The truth is that **what a player buys in the GS as a progression element doesn't affect other people play the game**, so being triggered by the sale of progression elements doesn't make sense. Offending people's sense of how the game should be played isn't a reason for Anet to not offer these kinds of products ... and clearly they agree because they do ... and clearly there is no reason to be offended because you will never know if someone bought those products.

Now where have i seen this comment before? Oh yea! loot boxes! People have been telling other to shut up it doesn't affect the game if you don't buy it, look where did that get us? loot boxes in every games so bad that there are now laws against it! It's always the same, thinking it won't affect other until shit hit the fan, i'm just gonna copy one example that other have already said: "**Jezz wheez i've bought everything in this game with my money, now i'm bored.........when is the next expansion gonna come out? Omg why is Anet so slow in bringing us content? Not much to do so I'm leaving**" You're only think about yourself, funny how OP think WE, whose opinions are meaningless, are shortsighted.

Nah, just because it's "new" doesn't mean Anet should drop on their knee and follow, it's "New" but is constantly criticized mean not worth doing, seeing how many say No in this thread give me hope in gaming.

Also, how sad it's must be to throw hard earned more money at a video game for a virtual completion! It's astounding how people lack self aware and be proud of what they have done.

  4. My god.....have you been playing Ubisoft games?! Is this what the generation of gaming will be like? People just throw money at the screen without caring so they can skip? Imagine as a game developer, creating a content only to have some guy want to skip bu giving you money!

    >

    > playing a game with 0 challenge to me is more of a waste of time... i'd rather just be watching an equivalent cutscene or fmv with my character in it. atleast my character can do cooler stuff or movement not possible in-game in a pre-rendered video or cutscene

I got a good laugh out of suggestions such as "don't add boss mechanic to story" as if this is a Walking Simulator. I do hate pointing out the obvious but this is a video game with combat in it, "COMBAT" so at some point there will be a boss that test your knowledge of the game.

Just saying **This isn't a Walking Simulator**

Well there is skill, as in either break the bar or move out of range. You know what? OP should just post his/her vid so we can see what went wrong

    > Not only is it lorebreaking, as mentioned above, but just... ew. Female charr are not meant to look "cute kawaii kitty fru fru"... they look gross and unsettling when people abuse the sliders to make them that way. They're meant to be demonic bloodthirsty WAR cats. Even the most feminine female charr should still be sleek and strong... not something from Barbie dress-up. Cute little skirts do not belong on war cats... except maybe as a joke.

    > My vote is to go with lore and good aesthetics and keep 99% of outfits gender-neutral on charr. There have been some cases where the "girl" version of something looks okay on female charr (Bandit Sniper Outfit, Imperial Outfit, Ritualist Outfit, Braham's outfit) and sadly, other cases where it looks horrid (Exemplar Attire, Fancy Winter Outfit). Generally the cases where it's okay are cases where the "girl" outfit looks sleek or tribal... but get into poofy dresses, cute skirts, and overtly "sexy" attire and it's gonna look awful.

Eh i can just write a paragraph but i'm just gonna say "fashion have no boundaries and ain't gonna be restricted by someone's "lore" "

  8. People just need to get better, no! I'm not saying this as an elite, but someone who is willing to learn from past mistake to improve, dumbing everything down further won't encourage growth.

Having trouble beating an enemy? See what you did wrong and learn the enemy attack pattern, for example: smokescale! Either block or double evade and when it use smoke just lure it out!

Although i must say, enemies in HoT are easier with range than melee, except for that frog which has been nerfed

  9. I love the concept of underwater combat but what killed it for me is the pacing and melee difficulty

Unlike on land, you don't use your movement that much which for melee turn into take turn slapping each other until one of you die, it's long and tedious

Throw in the wide open space mean you have to constantly elevate yourself to the enemy level. Also there aren't any traits unique for underwater, few skills can't be use underwater make some builds useless which is unfortunate for group underwater

I really wish the new expansion will fix these issues but i have my doubt

    > What kind of logic is that? Some of the precursors are below 100g. You could easily get that in below one week of PvE, even _less than half a day_ if you play this game like a job and only in high gold/hour zones.

    >

    > There's also plenty of people that convert gems to gold because their **time** is more valuable than the average player.

    >

Well i apply this logic as someone who has little time and also doesn't want to spend money so forgive my ignorance

    > Also your assumption is that the upgrade from ascended to legendary won't be time consuming. That's definitely false because if you look at WvW legendary armor (1095 tickets per piece) , Conflux (1850 tickets at a minimum), and Warbringer (2800 tickets) that isn't the case **at all**.

    >

When did i "assume" that? I only said getting a precursor in WvW would take 1 week, no RNG no gem/gold no tp, you also need 3 days to craft grandmaster marks (who would play for 4 weeks just to get 1 mark?) it took me 4 weeks for 1 armor piece so i know how time consuming it is

Well i see an alternative way to get legendary equipment by playing the game mode you like, and i'm not like those PvE'er that want Gift of Battle removed from WvW, No! You still need to farm PvE

    > All the mats I got while leveling up went directly to my storage. And when my storage was full, I sold them on the tp or discarded them. This is not a good reward/drop system for new players. Rewards/drops needs to be something a player can use. Why kill a world boss or even complete map events in the core game when all you get is something you put in storage and forget about?

    >

Wait wait wait what? So you sold them after being full for money but it's not rewarding? If they were bloodstone dust, the blue star fragment, round yellow thing then there are items that can eat them for loot bags, if they are wood log, ore, leather section you should refine them, and if they are vial of blood, totem, claw etc..etc.. believe me, you can't forget about these because sooner or later You will have use them for exotic, achievement, legendary crafting

And if they are mithril ore, elder wood log, blue T5 silk and T5 leather section, you can create a ascended mats per day for stuffs like grandmaster mark, crafting ascended armor or precursor crafting

You think crafting in gw2 was tedious and unfun? Wohoho, wait till you try Swtor

Yah.....crafting is very important if you want to get great stuff so i don't see how "the game doesn’t give it the attention it needs" Do you want the game to pester the player to make ascended gear every time they log in?

And some other people prefer a bit more creative, Anet should have added a slider to reduce the visual cluster but if you take out the infusion gw2 ain't that neon RGB

  14. After all if you are a Blood legion Charr, you used to be under his command and eventually become The Pact Commander which, I believe, is the same rank as a Tribune. Since he's mostly with us instead of his legion, i'd hoped we get to share the "good ol' day" in Grothmar Valley and said "but don't expect me to call you Sir"

Do any of that happen in Season 1?
