  1. We also need to take into account that, out of all the characters from GW1 that people wanted to see, Palawa Joko was usually at the top of the list.

People WANTED to see him, wanted him to be a threat that we had to handle, so the fan support was clearly there from the start.

It's starting to look like you're deflecting the blame to them over and over. These keys came from YOU to the game that YOU control. Saying that THEY were the ones controlling the giveaway is honestly ridiculous when everything came from YOU. You seem to be trying to imply that Kung Fu Tea is somehow in-control of everything and were the ones that changed the rules when anyone would know that it came from ANet, the people WHO GAVE THEM THE CODES.

Then you even try to say that you do these things by language and not by location.....SERIOUSLY? If that obvious lie was in any way true, then answer me this: Why wasn't it stated, FROM THE START, that everything was U.S only? Why was it added AFTERWARDS and every other language version of it quietly removed?

Also, since you only "answer questions properly addressed to us", try to find an answer for the U.S players that DID do this scam of a giveaway for their codes, after trying for hours, only for the codes to NOT EVEN WORK.

Then use the head and read? That's not hard to do, especially when someone is TRYING to get a Precursor.

    >

    > In this case, he's proposing a QUEST for historical weapons that gives you historical background on your race in the process. An interesting thought, but not every weapon set appeals to every player. It would be a lot of work for them to set this up, and a bust if people didn't pursue the quest because the end reward was generally viewed as ugly. (I'm looking at YOU, Caladbolg...)

Then play WoW Legion and get Artifact weapons. We don't really have those sort of weapons in GW2 and, if we did, they'd just be Legendaries. It took till the player-created weapons to even GET a mini questline to get something, they won't do that for "mythical" skins.

Also, Spear isn't a new "type" when it already exists underwater in GW2 and has existed since GW1.

And the fact so many of you in this thread seem convinced that a majority WANT player housing is wishful thinking from your side.

Most people do not play an MMO to play house, most people play it to fight monsters or fight other people, this is a fact backed by the decades that online videogames and MMOs specifically have existed. Stop using your opinions as fact and using them to speak for others.

In short, they still are working on resolving the issues that resulted in the pause of the promotion and will be giving another update next week.

So still nothing about people outside the U.S? Still nothing about YOU guys simply giving people the codes instead of trusting another random company with sketchy apps? Still absolutely nothing besides damage control "they're working on it" as if the blame was solely on them?

    > > > I don't really get 'marketing' for MMO .... anyone savvy enough to even be in the market to play an MMO knows where to get the information they want to know about games and find out what games are out there. It's almost not even an issue to pay something. Many MMO's give the option to play for free to get a taste. Unless there is some big hidden market of MMO players that don't know about the internet and MMO's, I think the 'bad marketing' issue is overblown.

    > >

    > > You really have no idea what you just said, did you. You really just said that because it's an MMO, it doesn't need marketing because "people know where to get the information"? By your logic, let's not market anything at all since anyone savvy enough knows where to find info. No trailers, no ads, right?

    >

    > I'm not confused here ... you are of the opinion then that MMO players aren't savvy when it comes to keeping abreast of what's happening in the MMO industry and what games are being released and when? THat's .... interesting. That's how I learn about games that I want to play ... isn't that how most other people do as well?

    >

    > Let's be REALLY careful here about what you think marketing does for a game that provides a unique experience to it's players. This isn't like choosing the right car for you.

Glad to see you're back to making assumptions just to fit your opinions and placing words in people's mouths.

At no point did i say that MMO players aren't savvy, i said that your opinion of "since they're savvy, there shouldn't be ads" is clearly wrong since, following your ridiculous logic, we don't need ads for anything since people that are interested or savvy will already know where to find the info they need.

Didn't know Anet revolutionized multiple genres and managed multiple games. ANet is nowhere near close to be the new Blizzard. It's as far as it could possibly be, especially after this debacle.

  9. Arena Net, taking multiple steps back yet again. It's stuff like this that makes questions like "will you buy the next expansion?" have such a big divide nowadays when people used to happily say yes immediately.

Worse part is that ANet has said NOTHING about this. They acted very quickly to fire an insane social justice berserker for insulting people on twitter, but this, something that affects everyone since they had to deal with an already sketchy app, gets NOTHING? They have the guts to advertise this for everyone, only to then backtrack and say it was U.S only?
