  1. I know this is probably a waste of my time but I may as well throw kitten at the wall and see if it sticks. In guild wars 1, I mained a Ranger/Monk and adored the class. In HoT when Druid was announced I was ecstatic. It had combined my two favorite things, pet classes and healers. It was everything I wanted. However, patch after patch and patch it felt like Druid was nerfed again and again. The class suffering from major limitations that hampered it from performing it's designed role. To be Gw2's premiere healer, it somehow was less effective then Elementalist (Tempest). Druid was locked out of it's healing with very little compensation. However, I will get to that later. In base Gw2, Ranger was hated, rejected and tossed aside. It was so bad we were kicked from PuG parties as soon as people saw the paw icon. In HoT, Anet promised with Druid ranger would never suffer that fate again, that they would closely watch Druid to make sure it remains viable. In truth, they have made good on this promise, but this isn't due to Druid's healing so much as it's bounty of support. Let me get on to my three biggest grievances then in hopes this desperate cry against the tide is somehow heard. I am mostly a spvp player but I did dabble in raids and have manged to keep myself informed.

    > Staff

Broken since it's inception, the Staff offers very little outside of CA generation. Skills 3 and 5 are good. However, the auto attack and staff four are my main issues. It could probably be fixed with some tweaking in all honestly, if the AA could be fixed to generate a bit more CA that would be phenomenal. 4 is just clunky to use.

    > CA Gating

My biggest issue with Druid. Mechanically, being locked out of your healing by Cooldowns and CA is a joke when Firebrand can just open a book and throw out stronger healing and support. Druid NEEDS compensation for the added mechanics. What do we gain from just being outright inferior to Firebrand?

    >Pet Stat Reduction

Why? This was honestly the final nail in the coffin in spvp where Druid was already a very weak pick. If Smokescale is still the issue please deal with that rather then nerf all of the pets and Druid. This is my biggest gripe because no other class has their main mechanic gutted. (besides Daredevil now that I think about it.) And like CA having so many gates, for what compensation? This negatively impacts nearly every game mode, from solo play to WvW. For example, Tempest not only gets Overloads to compensate for the longer cooldowns but these greatly compliment it's kit and add more options for the Elementalist. Even with the old ranger traits in vanilla I took many pet traits in skirmishing and "took care" of my pet because I found success when we worked as a team. I was able to beat Rangers who neglected" their pets in favor of personal power consistently. That Druid takes this hefty 20% stat reduction on pets with no compensation is outrageous.

Well, that's it for my rant. I'll probably check back at some point, please don't be offended if I don't respond to you. I have autism and it was hard enough to get my thoughts into a readable format here. Chances are I will have read it at the very least. I hope my fellow Rangers, Druids and Soulbeasts have a wonderful day! Don't forget to feed your pet!

This was inevitable. In fact, it happens to any game that goes from insane oneshot power creep to a more balanced and varied meta. I have yet to see the changes myself but from a glance at the forums it's 50/50. So I assume it's the nuke classes that are complaining the most.

  3. Because some Korean goobley gloop company is pay 2 win doesn't excuse any other company to do it. In the golden age, you paid a bit of in game currency to respec and unlock skill tree slots. The people playing Gw2 right now have stuck by Anet in their time of need. This is the equivalent of sticking a knife into the wound of their hemorrhaging playerbase. I can smell NCsoft's hand in this a mile away...

  4. > Why are they focusing on the "toxicity" and not addressing the actual fair criticism or praise for the event by answering the questions

Because people are acting up. It's basically turned into poo flinging on both ends at this point. But lets be real for a second, we're coming off a huge layoff people thought we were getting an xpac? It's not an excuse for the way this was all handled however... A little bit of communication beforehand to nip things in the bud and let people know "Hey, it's JUST going to be LS5 like we said. No xpac." Would have quelled all this before it even turned into a zoo.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go act like an ape in pvp. Monkey see, monkey fling poo. Ook ook.

Elder Dragons, especially Bubbles, share many characteristics of Elder Gods from the work of H.P. Lovecraft. Generally being super powerful forces that are above mortal comprehension. The fear of the unknown and feeling inconsequential to the grand scheme of things was the primary focus of much of his work. However, I'd argue this fits Abbadon far more. By the way, fhtagn.

  6. I strongly disagree with everyone who said "Scarlet". She had potential to be a good villain, however the execution was horrible. She would have been much better if everything was done in reverse. Starting with the attack on Lions Arch and the players would have a personal grudge against her, rather then having Scarlet be one step ahead the player would be foiling her plans and breaking down her forces. (Starting infighting with Molten alliance, Aether blades and Nightmare court.) and eventually taking her out. As mentioned in the post above, she is a mary sue. Using the suggested method I have provided and retconing the Asura collages (One would be fine, sure. All three? Many Asura struggle with just one...) she would have been far more enjoyable.

Rant aside, as for my favorites, I HATED Caduceus. Perhaps due to real world parallels to the deep state, lets be real who actually likes corrupt politicians? So there are some points for him there though he wasn't very compelling.

Several unfinished assets and pieces in the game (now sealed off) suggested at one point, Kudu was going to be the main villain. His connection to Snaff, air of arrogance and deadly ambition prop him above many of the villains. His philosophy (and the philosophy of the Inquest in general) are unfathomably dangerous. To forsake all empathy for the sake of progress. Yeah, lets throw in some unstable elder dragon mojo and see what happens. Kudu didn't mess around (unlike the current Inquest which I can very much liken to a headless chicken. Kudu was the head, in case you were wondering.) when he was on screen you knew there was going to be trouble, dare I say the little shark rat was intimidating to a degree. He had the makings of an excellent villain, its a shame he was axed so soon.

Joko... is Joko... may we take a moment to praise his name, best compared to Dr. Eggman, he's campy, he's fun, he likes to monologue. He's that Saturday morning cartoon villain, a welcome change of pace from things and kept S4 fresh until Kralk took the stage.

Speaking for Kralk, it isn't easy to make an avatar of mindless destruction a sympathetic villain. I personally wasn't too upset about his redemption arc becuse I saw it coming. There had been hints since the base game that the elder Dragons weren't outright malevolent or evil by nature. Mordermoth hammered this in if you look at his dialogue. Grandpa Kralky has played the biggest role of any of the Eds in Gw2. I personally love how alien the brand is and the presentation of this huge mountain sized dragon. Says a lot for how intimidating Kralk is.

  7. I am not saying this in favor of afking, but let me ask you this. When for the love of the six has the pvp community ever been "ethical"? This community is so toxic the sludge died of poisoning.
