I highly doubt that after doing a new map every release since season 2 or parts of maps every release. They clearly wanted to focus on the new aspects of the Icebrood Saga such as the response missions and the faction system. Lets wait for the trailer for chapter 1.

It doesn't say that your just putting words into the blog post clearly they wanted to talk about the new things in the chapter that haven't been in GW2 before like the response missions and the faction system how about waiting for the chapter 1 trailer. Also strikes would fall under replayable gameplay content so its like bundled with that.

I agree but I'd go further the whole of season 4 and I'm including episode 3 in that for the story that is. Just the things they did. Moving from one instance straight into another, two brilliant villians in my personal opinion Kralkatorrik was 10X better than Zhaitan and Mordremoth. Destroying the mists or damaging them really badly (side note Anet you need to address this). The first fight with Kralk but also the flying section in episode 6 just flying through the god realms on Aurenes back chasing the dragon. If I'm honest I expected when the second half of season 4 moved onto Kralk we'd lead up to an expansion dealing with him but to fight him in Living World would have been something unheard of even in season 3.

No it is coming with episode 2 they said it in the announcement from PAX.

    > It is usually 2 weeks before release so i expect an announcement anytime today/tomorrow. Yeah, would not get too excited for anything more than a normal living world episode release since we just got a balance patch and a QoL patch.

No they release trailers a week before except for bound by bloods trailer

There will be story in next weeks update shown by the cutscene of Rytlock talking to that other charr guy. Also festivals go away this map is staying in the game for good. Its a prologue to the Icebrood Sage.

From what I've heard and seen it looks like a year long festival but thats just my opinion.

    > Now that we've got that out of the way! :) This Friday's Guild Chat is all about Episode 6, War Eternal. I'll be talking with six of the people who worked on the episode:

    > *Tom Abernathy, Studio Narrative Director

    > * Alex Kain, Narrative Designer

    > * Kent Benson, Embedded QA Support

    > * Keaven Freeman, Game Designer

    > * Hugh Norfolk, Game Designer

    > These guys worked on the story and the new map, and we'll be making time at the end of their segments to answer some of your questions. A couple of notes: We'll be focusing on episode 6, so we can't go too much into detail about super spoilery future stuff. And if you have questions about the skyscale mount, hang onto them just a little while because we have a deep dive Guild Chat episode about the skyscale coming up on May 24. With that in mind, fire away with your questions!

I think you made a mistake you say 6 people but only listed 5. I'm sorry to nitpick but I'm confused if its 5 or 6 devs,

    > The experience of a release day varies based on the teams but overall it's a day that starts early for a lot of people! Many developers focus on pushing the build through its pipeline so that it's available to players as soon as possible. I won't go into details but the whole process a certain amount of work and multiple people in advance of the release.

    >

    > Yesterday evening, a group of people (not actively involved in the build release) set up our kitchen tables so that they can make waffles for everybody at the office this morning! We usually also enjoy some special coffees, to give energy to everyone throughout the day.

    >

    > When the build goes live, the Communications team posts the update notes on the forum, share them on social media, and also via the blog post and release page. Then it's all about paying attention to player feedback, in-game and also outside of the game. Critical problems are fixed asap, others are prioritized and the work on the first hotfix works very quickly.

    >

    > This is just a very short summary of part of our day. We're very excited to share War Eternal with all of you and hope you enjoy it as much as we've loved creating it!

Will there be a dev celebration like with other releases.

[EU server:] We'll march on every main Region of Core Tyria, starting from its Heart - Lion's Arch, then we'll visit Divinity's Reach, The Grove, Hoelbrak, Rata Sum, Black Citadel. And then we will go to Tarir and Thunderhead Peaks, where everything began and everything ended.

Differences being GW has been a successful franchise since 2005. Wildstar bombed hard sadly and couldn't survive.

Raids normally come with living world episodes so thats probably why there is no specific mention of them as their own release. Same with Fractals.

    >

    > what can be worse than losing the last Tyria's hope?

Kralky destroying our army. Kralky continuing to eat the mists and the world becoming more upstable. I predict characters we have loved new and old could die next episode.

    > Assuming 6 Episodes is plausible as it is in keeping with LS3s number and would fit the story arc as there is no resolution to the current arc yet, but since LS3E6 was a "last minute" addition and the possibility of an inter-season-cliff hanger we cant say for sure if there will be even 1 more episode this season from what I could find.

MMORPG said its the penultimate episode but redbull said its the finale thats where the confusion come from.

Wrong they did do this season 1 to season 2 and then HoT. This isn't new.
