When the map loads, it briefly shows what was visible on the screen from BEFORE I changed maps, hangs for about 2 seconds then switches to a view of the new map....

It has never done this previously. Anybody know why it is doing it and has a solution to stop it happening?

it eventually comes back once the map is loaded but it is quite irritating

ah, get a cooling tray then :) they have built in fans and you just click your laptop on top of it

What is your CPU cooler like? If you have a fan, switch it with one of those all in one water coolers to lower the temps.

Also check your case airflow, should be pulling from the front and venting to the back and top

It will be that CPU dude, will be bottle-necking you. GW2 is optimized a bit poorly so relies heavily on CPU over GPU. My quad core I7 Oc'd to 4GHZ even struggles in heavily populated areas

Your graphics card isn't a nvidia Geforce EVGA 1080 FTW is it?

The earlier versions of their cards do just that. I had to return mine for an updated model. It's a known issue their end

As title suggested. Do I need to leave the account "frozen around the event" for staff to locate the issue easier, or can I carry on playing as normal?

I find dungeons much better content than fractals. It is a real shame that they dropped them.

It feels like it is done out of pure design laziness in my opinion. Making a single fractal map seems like it takes much less effort than a full dungeon

See, this is the issue. MMo's have gone from fun, engaging content to content that involves grinding as much mats/gold as possible, then rinse and repeating.

I get it, people have come in with nostalgia goggles due to Elona being in GW1, but the maps are just so, empty.

I have a feeling that give it a week or so, the maps will be properly dead, like Southsun dead. HOT maps have the metas to bring people back, POF ones have nothing (except bounties but those are barely cutting edge content)

it's a shame really because all the maps are just so pretty!
