  1. I think it's overpriced, ugly and a disgustingly bad move by anet. People asked for capes since the game's release and now they sell it for gemmies. Not to mention the big middlefinger that is the guild rug. Guild Wars 2 feels more and more like a Cashshop with a MMO, instead of a MMO with a Cashshop.

    > If all the good stuff is in the store then people only care about what earns them the most gold the easiest. It pretty much dictates how people discuss maps these days. It doesn't matter if it looks nice or the content is engaging or fun hard, all that matters is whether the meta will earn you fat stacks.

    >

    > None of this is healthy for the game but most of the people who seem to care have long since left for greener pastures

I agree. I'm so tired of all the endless gold farming to have enough gold to buy anything "good looking" since Anet can't be bothered to make good looking things obtainable via in-game goals. And if there is something cool and nice, it's most likely locked behind horrendous grind and timegate. I stopped playing Guild Wars 2 after getting to the point where I had to grind all the map currencies to get the Skyscale saddle or what BS it was (don't really remember anymore). I just got so burned out by the grind and timegate that led to that point, only to have to grind even more. I just can't be bothered to play this game that does not value your time anymore.

And there are people who are praising them for it. And of course the Guild cape is ugly af. No way to obtain unique capes through game-play, crafting, etc.

    > >

    > > It's sad, I wish there were actually things like that one can obtain by actually playing the game instead of throwing money at it. And i'm talking about stuff outside of raids since not everyone actively speedclears them every week. You know? Some people want to actually ENJOY content rather than rush through it and being put under pressure. Some of us don't have reaction times of a 16 year old. Some of us have disabilities. There's so much neat stuff (and even lore) locked behind raids that the only way of obtaining something nice these days is the gemstore. Considering how rewards were in the times before HoT the last content updates over the years are disappointing. People overall were a bit nicer before HoT too despite the dungeon elitism stuff... I miss these days.

    > Can't you just exchange gold you earn in game for gems and then buy it? How is that any different?

The last time I checked it was like what 180g for 500 gems? Where the hell am I supposed to get that much gold... I hate gold farming. Besides, buying it is not the same as having to do in-game stuff in order to get it. And no, I don't consider grinding gold in order to buy anything a worthwhile "in-game stuff" to do.

And it looks super bad. Who would have guessed.... milk 'dem gemmies Anet go go !

    > As far as I can tell, they want something that looks like the female version of the medium Mist Shard armour, but on a male character. That seems totally reasonable to me, but the ANet armour designers obviously disagree, since the male and female versions are wildly different for no discernible reason. The female version isn't what I would call a trenchcoat, but it is more trenchcoaty than the male one.

Indeed. I like the... how would you call it... the long strips of leather hanging down from the sides of the chestpiece. When I saw this armour in the teaser video I though that it's gonna be a "full coat". Unfortunately the back part is missing, showing off the character's butt instead. It's a shame.

I really like how the blossoming version of the medium chestpiece has this... scaly texture, but then again, it's a jacket. I'm not saying that there are not enough trechcoat-like chestpieces, but I'd like to see something new and thematic to the story. Maybe next time.

    > I'm not sure whether it's because I read this during Eurovision, but it made me laugh... everyone is crying out for no more trench coats (or dresses or 'butt capes'), and you are wanting them?! I'm quite a fan of the new male medium armour set.

I do want them indeed! The coats I mean, not dresses or buttcapes. Something simple... no need for over-the-top layers and spikes/blades. I haven't changed my chestpiece for 4 years now xD I mean, the upper half of the male medium armor is decent, but I just can't have my druid wear a jacket lol

    > For me, I do like the idea of a journey and story to get your dragon (although as I said, timegate at reset doesn’t seem best design IMHO) and am actually looking forward to starting this even more than I was before the release! Of course, I am in a very different position from most everyone else posting — I am behind and working on too many things at once, lol — so I wasn’t expecting to get it soon anyway and thus no disappointment. Now I am more focused on getting caught up to start this and in the meantime, preparing my charged quartz and watching for news on what else I may need. :)

Don't get me worng, I really like the collection, the fact that you have to look for things and explore the area and even backtrack to older maps. It gives me something nice to do for a change... someting that I can see "grow". Really reminds me of raising my crow for Nevermore (really loved that collection), but it's sad that I have to do all this without the new mount, and then, once this cool journey is done and I have my scyscale, I will have nothing interesting to do again :( Sure... I will have the very thing I was working towards, but without much of a use for it (unlike now when I am collecting all the stuff around the world).

  8. I had hope. The armour that was briefly teased in videos before the release looked kinda cool, but well... it was on a female character. I guess I can't really expect any cool, good looking medium armor trenchcoats from anet... or any good looking male armours for that matter.

That one trenchcoat outfit looks good. I guess if you can't sell it for dem gemmies it's gonna be shit right?

    Sigh

  9. Is it true that you need charged quartz for this collection as well? Like.. what the hell Anet. Whats up with using this damn dead resource from season 1? Correct me if I am wrong but the only way to get this junk is through mining the resource node in your home instance (and map bonus reward one per week maybe?)... you need 25 per day to charge a single quartz... what the hell.

Edit: Do you guys need a tip how to fix this? Give us the mount right away, or after the first part of the collection and then use the other collections to unlock Skyscale's masteries. This way people can explore and collect all the stuff (without the charged quartz part) while enjoying the new mount.

    >

    > I would be enjoying the content if I had the mount that I was told was going to be out today. Some people have more fun doing things at their own pace instead of having to deal with a gimmick to actually takes away the enjoyment of the map, i.e. going around pressing F and even going to the same place several times.

Indeed... I'd love to do all this with Skyscale. Now I have to go through all this timegate in order to unlock it and what then? Grind XP to unlock the masteries for it and then have nothing to do in the game once again. Super glad I'll have the new mount and no things to do.

    > Personally i run 6/6 Harrier armor (Monk runes), Harrier weps (Transference/Water), this gives you good healing and good boon duration, then for trinkets i run Minstrel if there's a lot of damage pressure and my group isn't that good, otherwise i run Berserker/Diviner trinkets.

Is there any particular advantage for running Minstrel's instead of Cleric's ?

  12. Thanks!

Feels like it would be good to be able to cover both healer and dps options in order to better cover the group's needs. I really like teh idea of full support build, but at the same time, tehre are instances in which dull support may be a bit of an over(heal).

It will take me some time to get a new healing accessory set anyway, so till then I'm gonna stick to my dps set and then possibly create a new one for purely for healing. Damn it's gonna be expensive...

  13. Heya! I've decided to check back on GW2 after about one-and a half year break and would like to ask how's Druid doing, particularly in Fractals. I remember running T1 and T2 fractals with this build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNEQNAW8Xn0rCtqgNrA2sCEtil9ADOueX3rL3uAwoj5CEwGBlY83A-jRyGQBI4gA4h9HEjuBy9AAAwVAQRqCEElfeUJofU7BA-e mainly focusing on zerk dps with supportive buff generation.

I've went through several discussions/tips for current Druid builds mainly focusing on full healing/might upkeep through a new armorset (Harrier or Magi's/Minstrel's/Harrier's mix?). I'm not sure how long it will take me to fully convert my build (mainly trinkets) and I'm still not sure which way to go (full Harrier or the mix). If I understand it correctly, it all comes down to

    person's playstyle and skill?

I'm not really sure if I can take my old zerk druid build to fractals. Do people expect you to run full healer/might-gen Druid build in fractals nowadays? Also do you have any recommendations for a new "up-to-date" druid builds based on popularity and usefulness? I've seen alot of Soulbeasts but would like to stick to my Druid.

    Thanks alot for the help!

  14. To be honest, I think that you should not be able to buy any legendary items at all. They are supposed to be rare and "hard to get". Now, every time I see somebody with a "2nd" gen legendary, I know that this person worked hard in order to get it.

I've been playing GW2 since day one, but I am a casual player. I don't have tons of gold or resources, but after Nevermore got released, I made a full commitment. I started grinding crafting professions, gathering loot, farming achievs etc. It took me a while yes, but I did it (and it felt good), and so can everybody else.

Buying stuff is just so easy and kills all the effort people have put into their legendaries.

  15. Greetings,

~~I got a spare **Guild Wars 2 Heroic Edition** key from Humble Bundle, and since it cannot be used to upgrade an existing game account, I am giving it away. So, if you are a F2P player, or you have a friend who would want this key, let me know!~~

    See ya around!
