Soulbeasts usually have many fast hitting attacks like lb 2 or 5, it might be the issue. The person who does most ammount of attacks gets some mob aggro, but not sure about Saul, just an idea. Lastly soulbeast has that weird toughness thingy on merge. If you are the only soulbeast in the group, maybe you get to be the 2nd highest toughness after tank which causes the mob to aggro. Anyway this is an interesting question, I'd like to know that too. I will try to test it this week if I manage to convince my friends to play ranged on Deimos. > Btw, did you try to stealth yourself for a moment to lose aggro ? I am not sure if it will work, but might be worth giving a try. The lb 3 should be able to do the job. Uhm your supposed to take down the clones so them body blocking dont make a differance. My comment about pew pewing from range was to avoid the black the correct clone of the 4 was standing in that they had to take down. And if it was toughness it went after it would go after hand kite 100% of the time.

  12. You dont have to go to the correct saul to hit him, just have them move to the one left or right of them so they dont stand in the middle of all the 4 adds.

Summons (as well as boosters and all other consumables, really) are just crutches to be used when players are having a hard time or need a little extra boost. It's a bit like playing other MMOs and being skilled enough to win a fight without using anything at all, and having to slug down an entire inventory's worth of potions because you keep messing up. I really don't understand why ANet won't allow consumables in raids; if players need them, use them. If they don't, well done, you no longer need your training wheels. because players take the path of least resistance. You would see raid lfg even more strict with ping consume and kp not use consume in fight kick etc
  15. If you are useing range strat then how can they have a hard time to damage him just pew pew with their range weapon.

You would only be able to make that comparison if the dragon slayer weapons themselves were actually needed to craft the crimson/azure weapons which they're not. It was the boreal weapons they did that misstake with since there was no hint of it having to be used later. Stormcaller weapons had a flavor text that it should be used but was then deemed to not be used.
