Expansion level content in living world we were told... this is not expansion level content. Not even an epilogue map. Epilogue... Get on an airship. go to Cantha. Yawn... back to Final Fantasy 14. > > The layoffs happened. S5+ was originally planned to be much bigger, with them originally talking about it playing out over a couple of years and having no plans for another expansion. Datamining even suggested new hero challenges for example, meaning new elites. Months after the layoffs and shortly after the prologue released, the guy in charge, who was also the one pushing S5, quit, and then a few months later they announce an expansion. This final episode is what it is because the live team is operating on minimal resources while everyone else is attempting to rush out an expansion in practically half their usual time. > They layoffs had lottle to do since they happened before the announcement, but you are right everyone is likely on eod at this point. Also im not sure about rushing an expac, pof was 16-18 months of development and it came at around a 2 year mark since hot. Edo was announced in early 2020 and there was bound to be a certain lvl of development at oeast a couple of months before that. Say there could be a small drought of 4-5 months after april that puts the release in late q3 possibly early q4 of 2021 thats like 16 or so konths of dev time.

Looks too small compared to S3 (i wouldn't like them to change Primordus' size, but given how they did it with Kralkatorrik, I imagine he will look smaller in a cutscene?). > > Who knows, maybe it's Primordus' current top Lieutenant and if Braham defeats it, he becomes the champion lol. > > I would like to hear Primordus' voice though if that's him. Thf i wouldnt mind making him smaller, sinc ehe was absolutely massive in s3 and ever getting the full body of that head was unrealistic. Also his se3 design compaired to his gw1 looks derpy.
  3. At least the legendaries look the part and come with qol, spending a boatload of gold on exotics or ascended ill never really use and dont come with any qol isnt my cup of tea. I hope gen 3 legendaries comes at some point.
  4. I really miss when they did the elite spec weeks back before hot's release. Every week you got art and then a livestream showcasing the content and that was really exciting. My ideal hype window would bearound 4 to 6 months.
  5. Inbetween pof and hot leaning more heavily to hot. Biggest change i want to see however is the reduction to the aggro range.
  6. > @"Vancho.8750" said: > Strikes and DRMs are a fine concept of reusing story encounters as repayable content, witch is really lacking in the game for some reason. They really need to focus on how to bring content to the game in a way that is not one and done like the old story progression. Having the normal story and then encounter shared between solo story mode, raids, dungeons, strikes, fractals, drms or whatever will be a fine way to save dev time. I still don't understand why they separated everything in its own little universe instead of delivering packed experience for everyone instead of people getting group content once in 2 years. Drms couls be the standard story instances that include combat, strikes could be the climactic or big boss fights of lw in a 10 man format and then whats original is fractals and raida which could still maybe keep their 12 month cadenae because inbetween you are getting strikes and drms. Even better if strikes also had a cm for the hardcore crowd. So much content gets made to only be played once and strikes/drms esque systems fix that, however i doubt anet realises this.

What you said up there was an assumption. They aren't being visible with there kitten player base. Another point proved. I'm not going to sit here and let people constantly make excuses for Arenanet. I'm sick of it, they need to own up to their mistakes and address their community like they did in the pass. > > > It's been 8 months since they released a balance patch, 8 months... That's almost a kitten year. Prioritization is important but you work on other facets of the project as you get x amount far in a another part. Ya, know? What they have done is not conducive to upkeeping an MMO. They need to address certain balance issues on PVE as well as PVP/WvW. I mean to give a snap shot, Firebrand is OP for fractals now. If you're at lease somewhat good with the rotation one gets high burst as well as Dps sustain. A lot of pug groups for CM 100 ask for a FB as dps option. Andddddd that's just one thing. So let that sink in. > > > > Ill go over your points and try to give my pov and maybe some insight from what we know > > > > > If what you are saying is the case, they are tunneling, they have blinders on, they are putting all their eggs in one basket. > > > > According to one of the devs in guild chat the opportunity to work on EoD was literally dropped on them mid development of IBS and being smth A BIG BIG portion of the playerbase was asking for and the devs were excited to work on you can imagine how volatile it was for the plans they had up to that point. Its worth remembering the monthly patches were happening for some time too. (maybe if someone tracks when they stop and when its speculated that they started working on EoD the two could be lining up, idk). The studio right then and there had to make a choice (or the choice was made for them) and considering the seer hype EoD has created i think they took the right one. > > > > > Also, that's another thing too.. you don't know.. no one knows! There might be working internally on some changes to adress the issues but these will prob be part of a mega balance patch as we've had before expansions in the past. Ill tell you what, they could do both but that could likely push back EoD and alot of ppl really just stick around for the expac stuff. > > RUBIK1376 > I simp for Centaur Kefan [insert kitten mods joke here] > 5 hours ago > Silver > No guys you just don't get it. ANet is working SO HARD on the expansion. Like REALLY hard. You can't criticize them for ignoring the rest of the game (DRMs count as content? Balance? Alliances KEKW? Legendary armoury? Expac details?). You guys just don't understand that these things don't matter when we're getting an EXPANSION that they're really working hard on to make sure it's good. Just believe in ANet they always deliver!!!1!1! :^) > > > should read the comments of the redditpost i shared > Not really making excuses for them, just whats happening with how the studio was operating up until they got the opportunity to work on eod. Its a fucked development circle for the mmo because most ppl rn want the expac but nobody wanted for shit to change so much to where ibs got shafted and balance patches went extinct. The studio lacked propper planning and direction and now we are seeing the fruits of that. I guess you cant have a direction if you dont have a game director.

That's also counter to what the gemstore is for with respect to templates, Utility & Metabolic Primers and such. If you need a button for something that you need to use every 30 minutes to one hour I don't know what to say. Making a template just to swap back a forth on a weapon is a waste and simply having an extra bar of buttons to bind that action on is way more convenient. The ppl that would want an extra action bar to bind foods, items and consumables would also bind weapons there for small boosts to whatever they are doing (like swapping to focus on mesmer for a quick speed boost before a tricky jump or between all weapons an ele would swap to build might).

I'm not looking for _great_ gameplay when it comes to story instances, I'd prefer something more engaging than Zhaitan but nothing close to the time-padded nature of DRMs. I actually really liked the pre-nerf Caudecus fight from LWS3, and would welcome more story bosses like that. They could have the story missions follow a drm structure and then for kajor bosses have a stike mission mode after completion.

The question is "will they consider a strike mission for the final boss fight in the story"? I hope so :D Raids used us as the commander and a bunch or mercs or just mercs if you didnt complete it. Same rule could aply to the final boss if it was a strike.

  13. Much like everything else, they got down the list in order to work on the elite specs. Theres 2 teams, the team that balances pvp and wvw and the team that works on combat in general and pve balance. Its safe to assume that both are rn working on the canthan elite specs, one to design them from the ground up and balance them for pve and the other to split balance them for pvp and wvw (maybe even get a hand on designing them for the competirive modes so they are easier to balance there idk). Long story short the expansion is the big priority for the combat team rn. Wether thats the right move to make from anets side thats another topic, personally i think new specs are more importand rn.
  14. Ppl focus, drms dont need to replace propper story instances or ow maps, they just need after eod to be implemented as a replayable mode of story instances that include combat. They reuse everything from mobs to bosses to the instance itself so the only work needed is basically comming up with rewards. This type of content absolutely can make the gw2 experience better for solo and group players alike.
