I wanted a video of the entire opening session to provide evidence that I had actually opened them and not just fudge the figures or whatever. I plan on doing more like this in the future. Peace.

Haha yeah, I did notice it but I was more interested in a baseline. Maybe next time I'll max out all magic find boosts. For science! I'll farm essence of luck for a year and see how we go next year :)

I just opened up 27090 Lucky Red bags
It was awesome getting rid of all those essences of luck. The hoarding finally paid off. Check out the video for full stats and price estimates. It's 3 minutes. But just skip to the end if you want a everything that was dropped and the price estimate per bag. I wanted a video of the entire opening session to provide evidence that I had actually opened them and not just fudge the figures or whatever. I plan on doing more like this in the future. Peace.

Playing the entire story line will greatly increase the value and productivity of your account. There are a substantial amount of achievements involved and these get you increased rewards from everything else in the game (Karma, xp, magic find etc).
-
Are you intending on playing the game long term?
If so, I recommend investing your gold.
Perhaps place buy orders on T6 materials and use them to craft legendary weapons, which you can sell for a profit.
Then use that to build and invest more. Many "achievements" do just come down to wealth acquisition. But there is an aspect of make your wealth work for you in this game. So it's better as a beginner to invest early. But remember that bonuses (gold drops, karma, experience et al) come as you go through achievement milestones so don't go overboard.

What is the average skill rating? (Im guessing around 1300, but no idea).
Is the ranking structured like a bell curve? (getting that impression given plat players always complaining about wait times).

Was in the middle of a PVP match about two hours ago. Suddenly a 1400 ping and disconnect. Now I can't connect at all. Did some speed tests and other random stuff on the internet for last two hours without any problems. Seems to only be GW2. But is it everyone?

Getting the same from Australia.

So alliances isn't going to happen at all?

A blade of grass on an otherwise flat surface = 0 damage. I basically don't use it unless I am in melee range. Fortunately, I feel Hammer 3 does a little too much damage (along with it's utility). Otherwise I would seriously be considering re rolling a differ class.

I wonder if I will be frequently getting stuck in walls in 2020.

Bravery. In a video game. You kids need to go outside and get some fresh air and sunshine.

I am not sure if I am doing it wrong, but it seems like templates are severely bugged right now. They seem like more of a hindrance than a useful tool. Maybe should have waited until they were functioning correctly?
-
Not interested in Living World. In fact I kind of despise it much of what it brings. Maybe if it was a reveal and release date of WvW Factions.

Buff mechanics that require more than one click IE combo fields and nerf one click abilities.
-
Interesting. I guess we should open BG.
-
Yes. They have won 152 times and lost 188 times. They also lost season 2. It's not the same server it was back in the glory days though.
-
Lances are better for sPVP.
-
I prefer the idea of moving BG to EU servers. That would be intriguing.
-
10,000 rank, 500,000 kill and at least 25,000 yaks slapped. Until you have done that, you are just a WvW pleb.
-
Nothing really. It's a 7 year old game. I don't really expect much other than alliances.
-
Yeah I have probably had it pretty good with teammates. I mean in League of Legends it was every game.
I have noticed there are alot of bots in game. The other thing is speed hackers (there are several necros I get matched with regularly that warp and outrun me even when I have superspeed and they don't even have swiftness).

I have played ~350 games this season. Most of them have been pleasant. I have had maybe 15 games with toxic / abusive teammates. And I have noticed that most of those seem to be duo queue. Anyone else noticed this?

Returning player. Before I left I was touring various servers. Looking to get back into it but the server I am on is dieing and looking for somewhere more active. Most of my old contacts are on Blackgate. This isn't intentionally a meme thread.
Bonus question: Does ONS/TW (Axis of Insurrection alliance?) still play or their guild/guild leaders?
PS I can't believe this game is seven years old. Feels like just yesterday everyone was bandwaggoning from SOS to JQ to BG. So many awesome people met along the way. So many epic commanders.

We need more PvE in WvW as well. I would love some mini bosses like Wyverns to fight with unique mechanics. Maybe throw in some of the raid bosses like Gorsevaal and Vale Guardian!
Why do achievements?

If you are a hardcore MMO player that spends tens of thousands of hours in game, those extra magic find, gold drop, experience and karma increases really add up. It's alot to do with "adding value to your account". But it's all a matter of perspective. No perspective is wrong. Just playing the game and having fun is completely fine. Others like to set goals and objectives for themselves. Some just like the benefits those achievements provide.
