Purchased expansion pack and now game doesn't work ??

Ok, so I've playing for a little while, but just with a free account. But then I buy both expansion packs, confirm everything, and it says I own them. So then I reopen the launcher and press play. The game loads, but never pulls up. My mouse icon even changes to that of the game. I can't alt-f4 or even open task manager to close. The only thing I can do is restart my computer. I've done this multiple times, to no avail. :/

Delete the "Guild Wars 2" folder in "Application Data" first, which will erase your account information and most of your settings. If that doesn't work, update your drivers, restart your computer, repair your game client, or try another computer if all else fails.

 

Its very unlikely to be from purchasing the expansions, since people without them are still running the same game client just with the relative content disabled, otherwise you'd desync every time you saw an expansion player.
