Unacceptable performance on high end setup.

Recommended Posts

Setup as follows: Brand spanking new Mac Mini 16GB RAM, 6 Core 3.4 Ghz CPU, eGPU Razer X Core with a Radeon 5700 Gfx card in it.

Other games run fast as hell, no problems. GW2: stutter, stutter, stutter and lowish, unstable FPS. What the hell?! Even tried low settings, the stuttering issue persists. Game just freezes for a second. Completely destroys beetle racing or Griffon fun.

PLEASE fix those issues!! It is not the first time people are griping about this! This is the worst problem next to the lagfest and your problems with persistence (rollback nightmare anyone)? How can you ignore this for so long?

I tried the D129 proxy and it totally destroyed my game. Had to re-install. I've tried EVERY fricken permutation. It doesn't matter if the shaders are low or high,post-processing is on or off, from best performance to best appearance across the entire spectrum, always the same problem: FUCKING STUTTER! Beetle racing is one of my most fun things to do in this game. After investing a lot of money into good hardware I expected to have more fun with it. Instead my ten+ years old machine is kicking the living shit out of this setup because you people are not doing your job. I'm angry now.

Hi,

Just wanted to check. Are you running a dual-boot scenario and using Windows as you mentioned you're using a MAC ?

To save any future dramas I would create a separate folder and have a back-up of the Gw2.dat file so you don't need to download the whole thing again.

The d912pxy is designed to be used/ supported on Windows 7 or 10. You can join the Discord Server for support requests which Megai2 actively responds to.

I've been using the d912pxy for over 12 months without any issues on my system. I'm currently using a 5700XT like yourself and the performance increase using the d912pxy is anywhere from 20-30% in cpu bound scenarios and the annoying stutter is gone.

The issue with the stutter using the 5700XT and GW2 is nothing to do with GW2, it's terrible native DX9 driver optimisation for Navi Cards like the 5700XT. AMD has yet to address this long standing issue.

I hope this helps a little. I would join the Discord Server and chat with Megai2 for trouble shooting with d912pxy on your set-up.

Kind regards,

Mack

P.S I forgot to add. If you're running GW2 on MAC Os natively the D912pxy won't work. GW2 uses the OpenGL API rather then DX9
