On Build Diversity as a Ranger

I wish they'd revert the changes to Traps and Spirits. (Throwable Traps and Spirits followed you)

 

They were a lot more fun to play, more effective and probably wouldn't be overpowered in the current state of the game.

 

There could be much more diversity in builds, for every class, if only the devs set aside time to go through all of the old skills and traits and bring them in line with what's currently being used the most.

Ranger has probably the most or closest diversity of sem-viable to viable options. It's core power ranger is one of the strongest free specs too.

I'm an alt-aholic, and I have rangers with varying builds/weapons. I never look up the meta info sites because I don't care about maximum dps - I care about fun gameplay. To me, the most fun and certainly the best survivor among my rangers is the dual ax, shortbow backup with traps. Ranged combat is effective but it can get boring. This offers a nice mix of being able to get in there for melee and also being able to manage mobs and gain some distance when needed.
