What's your PoF launch day to-do list, if anything?

So what do you plan to do with your first day of PoF, fellow Elonian Envoys? Do you have anything specific planned, or are you just going to wing it?

I personally am going to (hopefully!) max out Scourge immediately, then likely spend the day faffing about on the first map with guildies, friends and my other half. I don't think I made any real progress that wasn't messing about in HoT until well after a week or so in to it's release, and I'm expecting much of the same in PoF.

I have a guildie, however, who seems to have every single detail minute by minute of exactly how he wants to spend his time and what events and everything to do for maximum efficiency, but I just can't schedule my *fun* in that way, it would make things way too stressful, in my opinion.

What about you, peeps?

1. max out my firebrand elite specialisation(I have 358 unspent hero points, I hope that's enough)

2. getting all the mounts as fast as possible and going mastery point hunting

3. trying to complete the story

4. See if there are any new legendary weapons so that I can decide which legendary I like the best and then I wanna start my first one. (I still don't have any legendaries...I always get distracted).

Those are my main goals. But if my guild wants to do something together I will gladly join them and put some of my goals aside. I love my guild and it's fun to do things together with them :)

I will have to decide what to do after downloading. Hopping directly into the new maps or playing wvw reset...this gives me a headache. Hopefully I have some time before reset to do at least the first story to unlock the raptor and then unlocking all the collections from the elite specialization weapons (if there are no other hero points or other gating stuff...), then playing reset, then reading patch notes before going to bed and then on Saturday morning I start to explore the maps and play the story and try not to rush anything.

The thing I remember from the original launch (or it might have been a beta weekend right before) of GW2 was doing one of the events on Lake Feritas in Plains of Ashford with about 100 players. It scaled up out of control and everyone was getting one-shot and lagging, but we had so much fun. Also, I remember falling into the cave jumping puzzle in Caledon Forest on accident and freaking out about how amazing the tiny hidden details of the game were.

I plan to grab a beer and stick around with large groups of other people so we can experience the content together. Will also be on the lookout for jumping puzzles and other easter egg type spots to sit down and enjoy the view. :)

That made me laugh :D Luckily my husband likes to play videogames a lot too so he understands my excitement for the new update and will leave me alone :D (and hopefully I can talk him into cooking for me for the whole weekend. Huehuehue~ ) :grimace:

I, unfortunately, had a computer flop and won't be able to make launch day. The good news is that I will have a new computer shortly after and everything should be prettier and better.

First thing I'm going to do is max my Mirage if I can (lots of extra points) and dual-wield my Astralaria and Shining Blade. :open_mouth: Then I am gonna probably go through story while picking up mastery points for mounts. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle priorities from there. I DO want to check out the new guild hall option, but I am very interested in the story too and may just let the story introduce me to all the new areas and come back to explore them more thoroughly when I have more mounts and a better idea of where things are located.

I will likely also take my new necro through and level scourge. I wish my computer hadn't died, and I hope reinstalling doesn't take a whole day for me to figure out.

My hubs is not a gamer but understands my love of gaming, just like I understand his love of golf and other outdoor sports. Years ago when a major (to me) game came out, he literally left town for three days -- he went camping & fishing and left me alone with my computer and a mountain of snacks. Gotta love him!

My plan is to take it slow. At least if the story pace allows it and I am not through everything in less than a week.

I want to do the story and explore the new areas at my leisure, while learning the ropes of the new lands.

Overall I hope to be pleasantly surprised by the end and don't have to facepalm too much in terms of story direction.

Furthermore I am scared to hear the first "I've beaten it" one day in after release.

That's great to hear that you both respect each others hobbies :) I hope you will have lots of fun with the release of PoF and that you husband will find something else nice to do in the meantime ^^

Taking it slow is a good plan.

I don't care how fast others rush through the game. If someone 'beats' the game one day after release, then good for them? I don't know...I want to enjoy the scenery, have fun with the exploration of the world and I want to actually listen to the story. But if others want to rush through and have fun while doing so, that's fine by me. I just understand it :D
