what just happened?

i play a ranger and i still have no clue how this happened. a ranger and a team mate was fighting i downed the ranger but he had downed my team mate so i go for the stomp however he interrupted my stomp 4 times. buying him the time for his team mate to stomp my team mate while i am in the middle of a 5th attempt at stomping the ranger. then he gets up and both kill me. i get i can be interrupted by root and maybe two f2 pet skills but where did the fourth interrupt come from? i guess it might have been a pet auto attack. what ever it was it was strange i have over 4k matches and i have never had a stomp be interrupted four times by one person.

maybe his teammate interrupts you? eg mesmer with precharged daze mantra can cast it while proceeding with stomp animation

A better question is why did you try and stomp 4 times in a row? You could have cleaved the guy down in half that time. Or better yet you could have rezzed your teammate rather than letting him get stomped.

Masteries do not apply in competitive modes such as PvP, WvW, and raids.

Well.. one interrupt from druid, 2 from pets, switch pet, more interrupts (1-2), then his skill is already off cd I guess. That makes it 5-6.

If you are taking 4 attempts to stomp, it is likely that the ranger downed 2 skill came off cool down again. Besides that pets like electric wyvern, wolf, and rock gazelle have multiple skills that can interrup, though since I don't really know what pets are in play I can't say for certain what it was.
