The old and the new (Noob question)

I have loved GW from the first time it appeared! But the current area with all the roots and jumping etc has totally spoilt it for me. I did play it all my chars to lvl 80 and have 8 chars that level and all have a qualified craft as well. But then I gave up on it because I never really enjoyed this area. I have returned since there is the new expansion out and I purchased it already . Now I am wondering if there is some way of 'jumping' to the start of the new area (Path of Fire) or are we forced to finish all the necessary areas in the old area first? I tried to get into my chars again but after falling into all those roots and weird dead end roads etc etc I just really dislike all that. Apart from it I never really managed to do those jumps with the air going upwards, despite trying and trying.

So my question, is there a way to jump my lvl80 chars to the beginning of the new expansion or do I have to finish the old one first, and if so, what route is the fastest to get out of that to me totally horrible area?

There is. Go to your Story Journal and choose to start the story of Path of Fire (Sparking the Flame).
